behle
Here's to the best friend I ever had. My eager playmate and loyal companion, Who sported a silly grin to cheer me up When I was sad or feeling blue. You are already missed and will always be.... Play hard and long at the Bridge while you wait for me, Max. I will keep a special place for you here in my heart.. marion
:iloveyou: TO MUM & DAD :iloveyou: FROM YOUR  BELOVED MAX  Beyond The Rainbow As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played, I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade. I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity. I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide! And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be! My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do. I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night. 'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold. For although we may not be together in the way we used to be, We are still connected by a cord no eye can ever see. So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
behle
Thank you Marion for the beautiful poem...made me cry again. But then so did your beautiful rottie Angel, Abker.. I appreciate every one of you who have helped me today in grieving for my poor Max. Max would have dearly loved each one of you because dogs know who good people are! marion
Behle we are here any time you want to talk about Max. I was so upset earlier because one of the ladies I deliver to has lost her dog today. I know it sounds silly but I get to know all the doggies on my rounds and I bond with a lot of them. When they pass away it upsets me and then I came home and heard about Max and couldn't stop crying. I've given Ruby and Rosie even more hugs and kisses tonight (if that's possible). Even though we didn't know Max's physical presence, we felt we knew him through your love for him and your lovely stories. :iloveyou: Therefore his loss is painful to us also. Although nothing compared to the pain you are feeling right now. but rest assured our thoughts are flying across the Atlantic straight into your home, and we hope this brings you some comfort as you grieve for your beloved Max.

Horsefeathers!
Behle, I just wanted to share some of the stuff that helped get me through a very difficult time last year when I lost my best friend. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. You were a guardian angel for Max and now it's time for him to be a guardian angel for you. Cry all you need to. As long as there are tears left to shed, you haven't cried too much. You may have read these before. I know I had seen them several times, but it's funny how timing is everything. They really meant nothing before, but they became very meaningful to me. MAY I GO? by Susan A. Jackson Dedicated to everyone who has ever had to put down a beloved dog. May I go now? Do you think the time is right? May I say goodbye to pain filled days and endless lonely nights? I've lived my life and done my best, an example tried to be. So can I take that step beyond and set my spirit free? I didn't want to go at first, I fought with all my might. But something seems to draw me now to a warm and loving light. I want to go. I really do. It's difficult to stay. But I will try as best I can to live just one more day. To give you time to care for me and share your love and fears. I know you're sad and afraid, because I see your tears. I'll not be far, I promise that, and hope you'll always know that my spirit will be close to you wherever you may go. Thank you so for loving me. You know I love you, too. That's why it's hard to say goodbye and end this life with you. So hold me now just one more time and let me hear you say, because you care so much for me, you'll let me go today. ======================== A Pet

I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here." I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care. I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "it's me." You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there. It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away." You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ... in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you. The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say "goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning." And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side. I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.
behle
Last December I stumbled across Dogo by accident while I was on Christmas break from school. I cannot think of a more rewarding "accident" that I have ever had. You are the most supportive, understanding people I have ever met. Regardless of the events in your lives that are pressing, you pull together to support a member who is going through a difficult time. Each of your messages have have touched my heart. Thank you so much for your kindnesses and concern for Max, my family, and me through your messages, graphics, and poems. You understand what it is like to lose a dear friend and I have felt your virtual hugs. I'm not sure Max is smiling down on me just yet...I think my silly guy is too busy meeting and playing with all of your loved furkids by the Bridge! Perhaps when he pauses to get a big slurpy drink, he will stop and look back for me. He always was so full of energy.....

JackieMaya
Behle, I'm so very, very sorry to hear about Max. I had to have my dear horse, Lena, put down last fall, and that was the hardest decision I've ever had to make, but I know that it was time for her to go. So I know what a hard decision it was for you. Now Max is up with Cracker (my Golden Retriever who died about 20 years ago), and they're playing and both healthy and happy! Hang in there! marion
How are you doing Behle, I've been thinking of you as it's over a week now since you sadly lost Max. :( How's Ben getting along without his brother, is he still sniffing everything of Max's and going around looking for him. Did you bury Max or have him cremated, I hope you don't mind me asking. It's just that it's five years this September since our lovely Jasmine died and Bri still won't bury her ashes. We have them in a casket upstairs and he buys a single red rose every year on the day she died. I think it's time he buried the casket now, it would be lovely to do it on the heath where she roamed, in a nice spot under a tree, or even in our garden. Hope I'm not being insensitive.
