devious tricks
I've looked at this site lots of times and I've even done research on pigmentation disorders that look a lot like her, but they insist that she's healthy and purebred as well. Most of her pups even came out with the same discolourated coat. What do you guys think? xavierandrea
They are "real". She is a purebred. As a matter of fact theirs a member here that knows the breeder.
devious tricks
It's so odd looking. She's a gorgeous dog, regardless though. It's very interesting too. Does anyone know if they are looking into how this all came about? I saw a Rottweiler once who had Vitilago, and the coat was very similar to that. The eyes were a glassy blue as well, but he lives off of steroids.

ObedienceGrrl
Her dogs are all health tested and Cerf'd. The lines are some pretty amazing working lines from what I'm told (I know nothing about GSD lines, only Chinese Cresteds!) She is actucally not far from my house (about 40 minutes). She has invited us to come and visit whenever we want to. She seems very nice.

__crazy_canine__
Yeah take pics! :D Although she sounds like a great breeder, I find it odd that she decided to make a new breed just because of this rare mutation. :-? They are beautiful though, very beautiful. :)
ObedienceGrrl
Ang, she lost a ton of 'friends' because of her decision. I thought the same thing. But she seems really sweet. She doesn't seem like a BYB or anything. She doesn't have a whole butt load of dogs. She's super choosey about her homes (non breeding homes for all Pandas). We've emailed back and forth a few times. I just like the fact that she health tests all of her dogs. And she puts titles on them. Working titles. Most of the lines she uses are Sch. lines. And pretty high ranking dogs at that. I'll be sure to let you guys know when we go and visit. Maybe it will be in the next few months.
__crazy_canine__
Thats what I like about her.... its so rare now to see kennels with working titles and health tests. She seems very responsible IMO. But because of all these "new breeds" popping up, that does make her appear a bit less responsible. But you cant tell me that if, after years of breeding purebred German Shepherds, you got a dog that looked like that in one of your litters you wouldnt want to have more dogs like that. I sure would. Theyre just amazing looking.
Pumpkin the musher
After my initial assumption that "someone jumped the fence", I have to say that the info that has come out recently seems to prove that the dog is in fact a mutation and not a mix. The breeders seem to have good intentions as well.
ObedienceGrrl
Right, Pumpkin.... I forgot to add that she has done DNA testing as well to make sure that Franka is not a mix of any type. Thanks for clarifying that!
abker17
Wow, that's really amazing. I think the dogs are gorgous.

Ash
Hmm, they look a little like coyote's to me. Maybe i'm just weird. Not like normal coyotes but like they could have some traits of coyotes. Hard to explain lol.
imported_Irena
beatifull and intresting dog what breed it is? it look like GSD but in this color it cant be one
abker17
what breed it is? it look like GSD but in this color it cant be one
That's the point. This lady breeds pure GSD's, and this is just a very, very rare color mutation of the GSD. :)
Carolk9s
Guess I'm the odd one out, I don't find these dogs visually appealing. Note that I'm not saying anything them or her breeding them, just don't care for the look.
courtnek
well, you can think of it like blue eyes and red hair in people. both are recessive genes, but the genotype is there. so you could have two people with brown hair who have a red-headed blue eyed baby, because the gene combinations in their history paired up "just right"...my x has brown hair. I had blonde hair with a red gene in my genotype which is now brown. my son was born with blond hair and hazel eyes. his is now light brown, lighter than mine or my x's. his girlfriend is a natural blonde with red genotypes. they could, conceivably, hava a red headed child with blue eyes... its all in the genetics, so no, although rare, its not impossible... 8)

After doing some research and coming up with a family tree, both parents discovered they had one white ancestor, and as luck would have it they ended up conceiving a white child. I thought it was pretty interesting stuff.
courtnek
NOOOOOOOO!!!!! just postulating on genetics. I am not ready to be a grandma...and he's not ready to be a dad...he's only 18..but thye are very serious about each other, and she's a sweetheart....I really like her.... :o I'm NOT on of those parents who thinks "no girl" is good enough for her son...
imported_Irena
thats very odd, i studied this breed and GSDs have only 6 colors. its specifecly told that white spots and bright eyaes are serius fults but AKC is AKC she is beatifull and rare looking and her perents can be purebreed dogs but puppies lke that are disqualified
