Horrible Walk!

I decided to take the dogs for a really good walk to the dog park tonight, and I was just playing fetch with them when this guy comes roaring toward us full speed on his bike. I call the dogs and move them away from the bike path. The guy stops beside us and yells "You better put those dogs on a leash or I'll kill them, and I mean it!"
What right did he have for yelling at me when he's going full speed and could've killed a child! There were tons of people there tonight. We were no where near him and the dogs didn't even glance his way! Poor Holly ran behind me cause she was scared! (she's terrified of yelling, and shy around men as it is)

I just had to rant, I feel so much better now!

Oh I hate it when people abuse you for having your dogs off lead at an off lead dog park!!! Where do they think they get off? Sure, if you were in any other park and your dogs were hassling people that would make complete sence, but AT A DOG PARK!!! :x
Or when you're at a dog park and some one walks through with their dog on lead and gets angry and yells to put your dog on a lead when your dog goes up to say hello. Some people are just stupid, there's no other word for it :-?

Perhaps you could have asked him "Did you come to the off-lead dog park just so you could be that offensive or are you like this all the time, there are support groups for people like you ya know." Or communicate more simply as dog lover suggested and jam a stick in his spokes.

I'm sorry, Lucky

This guy has probably had a bad experience with dogs or is just really pissed that they can run free at this park. Take comfort in knowing that he's the one with the problems and with all the anger and frustration. That's why he's going out of his way to come to this particular park to make a fuss.

The best way to get back at him is to do just what you're allowed to. let your dogs run free and have a good time. A sour-puss like this will get so angry that you're having such a good time that he wont know what to do.

I do like the bar in the spokes solution, though. It would be nice to see him flying through the air and landing on his dumb face.

I second that.

don't worry mate, unfortunately there are many idiots in the world and you happened to have a run-in with one of them! :)

Reminds me of the time Dad and I were walking BK, on lead, in the street (on the footpath) and this girl riding her bike with her german shepherd OFF LEAD were coming from the opposite (and wrong) side of the road and she told ME to move MY dog off the footpath because her dog doesn't like other dogs! *huge rolleyes* For starters, 1. riding a bike on the footpath is illegal and 2. having a dog off lead and not in an off lead park illegal and 3. an aggressive dog should be controlled by the owner, to me that doesn't mean you can ride around with your dog and yell at people to clear off. I told her to jam her bike where it won't fit and she just glowered at me (but she moved lol). BTW BK was very well behaved, he just ignored the other dog. Sometimes he can be such an angel. :D
You should have thrown a VERY LARGE stick under his tires and watched him fly off... :evilbat: Ooops, did I just write that... :diablotin:
Oh if I ever see him again I think i just might... :evilbat:

That happened to me the other day, this old guy was walking his lab and it came up to us and he yelled at me to grab my dogs because his dog dosn't always like other dogs, especially puppies.

Its not so much the fact that he yelled at me cause I get yelled at all the time to put the dogs on leash, but the fact that he said he would actually kill them

   How can some people be so ignorant and pig headed that they think the world revolves around them? She should control her own bloody dog!!!
Good thing Bk is such an angel

His dog was off lead? Idiot. When I'm at training and people bring their dogs up to say hello to Lily, I let them know that she is not always friendly and just to make sure their dog doesn't become between me and her (they are all on lead), some times she is fine, some times she isn't, but when she isn't every one is aware of what may happen and no one ever gets hurt. My point is, there is a way to socialise dogs who aren't always friendly, and that way is on lead, where both owners know what may happen and it is controlled so that they can play, but if the body language aint right the dogs can be seperated before any thing goes wrong. People who like to "socialise" their dogs off lead and then tell other people to control their dogs because their own can't be trusted are just stupid and should be slapped with a fine for having an aggressive dog not under control!!!

Don't worry Lucky, people who say they will kill your dogs are just looking for a reaction
