Aww poor thing. Sorry I don't have a doggie door so I can't help you out. I don't know how yours is set up but maybe you can put a little step to it or ramp? At our last house Magic made her own doggie door by jumping threw the screen of the door. :roll: Doggie doors and Majies don't mix so we don't have one anymore.

Post the pics and tell the stories of how you found your rescue baby... I adopted Magic in Novemeber of 2001 when she was 1 yrs old. She was transfered from another shelter because they couldn't adopt her out. She was at the shelter where I got her for over a month. She was on her last days. She was treated for everything from mange to kennel cough. She hated other dogs too. She was a big dirty German Shepherd (cross?) but I had to have her! I cherish everyday I have with her and I spoil her rotten because she deserves it! I love her so much! Less common breeds that I've met are: Brussels Griffon, Irish Terrier, Munsterlander and a Komodor. I would love to meet a Dutch Shepherd and a Beauceron!

Jetta is very cute!!!! I hope that you'll keep posting pictures of her as she grows! Awww she's so perfect!!! My first very own dog was a tri-colour sheltie so I'm a little bias. :)

My vet said rawhide causes tartar build up. (I don't give rawhides anymore and because it is bad for the teeth is the last of the reasons why.)

It is important that you remove all the tartar build up first then keep up with your brushing once or twice a week. You can either buy the dentist tools or scrape the tartar off with your fingernail. It comes off pretty easy with a little bit of pressure and the teeth are white and clean underneath, just like new. Once you actually clean the crap off the teeth you can start brushing every week to help them stay clean. I use dog tooth paste because my dog loves her teeth brushed with it.

I suppose every dog is different. Magic loves the garden hose, she loves spray bottles so they don't work for disipline. :-? She was afraid of the Lake at the cottage at first then someone threw her in the water :evil: but after that she loved it and all she does is swim in the Lake now. She doesn't like baths but gets into the bath tub when I tell her too and once I bought her a kiddie pool but she would not get in it and only used it as a big water dish. Oh and she doesn't like to go out in the rain unless we're going for a walk but once she's already wet then she doesn't care anymore. I know the worst mix because I had to deal with the beast! :lol: ....Lab X Great Dane, nothing too funky but OMG this one was young, was wild and crazy like a Lab and was the size of a Dane! Stupidest mix ever, I couldn't even walk him because I couldn't hold on!

There's been one or two times I wish my dog had bit someone when they were being very mean to her. :evil: That's what I'm here for though to protect her and no one messes with my dog!!!! I don't think there was anything wrong with you leaving them except if you leave them there again, after what happened. WOW I would have been mad! Poor puppers. I would have been livid about the whole situation but at least she got in that good bite hehe :lol: I hope that teaches him a lesson.

LOL I think the default is: Shepherd X, Lab X or Border Collie X :)

Magic is dog aggressive. I adopted her two and a half years ago when she was approx. 1 yrs old. I got her from a shelter. She was on her last days if not day. I loved her right away and I knew she was dog aggressive but thought I could fix it. I can control it some times when I'm in the right mood but otherwise she still acts very aggressive when she see's/hear's another dog. She is perfect in every other way! She loves people and is so great with people - I hear this is often the case with dog aggressive dogs. I would do it again because I hate the thought of "Magic's" dieing in shelters. I doubt many people would want to adopt a dog like Magic. People I know can't believe I've kept her and I can't believe they think that! Other than having no social life at all with other dogs she has got a really good life and we are very happy.

Magic only farts when I am getting her breakfast or dinner ready which I thought was really weird. I wonder why?

Magic eats well and to think I made her eat Pedigree Mealtime when I first adopted her. Currently she eats Innova and Nature’s Link, which we’ve settled on now because she does well on it. She likes it and is not allergic. Nature’s Link is a modified barf/raw diet– the meat and eggs are lightly steamed to kill salmonella and all the bacteria. It’s also organic so she certainly eats better than I do.
