2. Cool! I can use your innovation on Magic. :) I have to try it!
3.
It's so wonderful to be able to sleep through the night without having to make 2879483648395 trips to get sick dogs outside, or having to clean up behind those that didn't make it.
Awwww :( Congrats for the hard poop! Wooohoooooo! :D
4. Thanks so much guys!!!!!! :) I didn't take pictures today at the show (too much excitment :) ) BUT I'm going to the show again tomorrow with a coworker. HF I'll get some Poodle shots for you. My heart melted over a toy poodle today but there were a lot of Standards there. Oh the Standard Poodle took first and the Minature Poodle took second in their group. Newfiesmom you would have been proud the Newfie took first in his group over a really popular Sibe too. They were all nice dogs in his group so it was a big win. :wallbash: ahh I should have took pictures for you guys! Tomorrow I will have the pics, promise.
5.
That last Aussie is so cute! He (he?) even looked at the camera!
Yup he's a he. He looked at the camera and smiled! LOL The GSD smiled too after :D if I were them I would be happy because I took a pound of dead hair out of them and made them squeaky-clean! They felt so good after to touch because they were soft and silky and light and they smelt nice. :) Thanks guys! Maybe I will take pics at the dog show tomorrow and post them.
6. I started Grooming School on Tuesday. I am having so much fun and learning a lot! Tomorrow we are going on a field trip LOL to a dog show. I have before and after pictures. So far I have done simple things like bath, brush, nails, ears, shave rectum area and groin, do the pads of the feet - we learnt a really cool trick with the feet! and trim furnishings/feathers and feet. When I do a fancy poodle clip or something I'll share but here are the dogs I have done so far: Tuesday Sept 7th - First day I did a GSD (would you believe it! :D ) BEFORE AFTER Wednesday Sept 8th - Sheltie BEFORE AFTER Thursday Sept 9th - Aussie Shepherd BEFORE AFTER
7. Nice looking dogs! Whats with the 2 handlers with the ugly bandages on their knees? Is that a dog show/handler thing? I would wear a pant suit not a skirt! :drinking:

9. LMAO! I did get a pic! I'll upload it and post it for you too see. :)
10. Magic and I just got home from a long day at work. So we go downstairs, our basement is all hardwood floor and Ryan was home today cleaning and put the big comforter from the couch folded up on the floor in the corner of the rec room, beside the rocking chair, no not on the chair on the floor – what’s with men???!!! Anyhow this is the cute part, Majie goes to the blanket on the floor shoved in beside the chair and pulls it out to the middle of the room. She scratches at it a bit to fluff it up and make it all comfy then turns around 3 times and passes out on it. That was just the cutest thing! :iloveyou: Sorry to bore you guys and waste space here on the BB but I just had to share!
11. I pick up a can or two of that when I go buy a bag of dog food. I also wondered how good a quality it was especially for the price. It's just a treat once in a while, Magic likes the "Working Dog Stew" one I think thats what it's called, she loves tripe! Speaking of tripe TDG I always buy Tripet, is that good?
12. Since I started working with dogs I've noticed aggressive Labs which was kind of surprising. The same thing is happening with them as what happened with German Shepherds, they're ruining a very nice breed. One of my favorite Labs that comes to my kennel was PTS because he bit the wife. It sounded like it was something that he had done before and this was the last straw. I find the Golden Retrievers to be very nervous, shy, skittish and fear bitters. There's a lot of dog aggressive Labs but I haven't really seen a skittish fear bitter LAb.
13. Some times people are really open to your comments/recommendations and appreciate you giving them that information but some times people are set in their ways and you have to sit back and watch frustratingly. I have tried to offer diet advice to people at work (who love their dogs, heck we work with dogs) and to my parents. I can’t get any of them to budge, one feeds Science Diet, the other IAMS and my Parents feed Kibbles and Bits. I explain ingredients etc very well, either they don’t listen or don’t care what they feed their dog. Gosh some of the foods out there I wouldn’t even want in my house because of what’s in it. I have to feed dogs at work these foods, I don’t even want to touch it and people are feeding it to their dogs! The Science Diet person has horrible problems with allergies, the IAMS person has a dog with Colitis and one with occasional allergies, and my parents dog is really sick with EPI and also has vWD. Once I gave them a bag of Wellness and their dog got diarrhea. They said it was because of the “special food” and they don’t trust me anymore about food. How frustrating!
14. All of a sudden I feel like breeding dogs. Ahh NO I DON'T!!!!!! :microwave:
15.
You have 3 paws? But your a human?!?!?! :hmmmm:
LOL ESSlover you're too cute can I keep you? Yay you Leanne for your paws! :)
16. hehehe I call them Rotten Shepherds, but just because I'm silly. We have 3 Rottie/Shep crosses I can think of off the top of my head that regularly board with us. They are all really wonderful dogs and are some of our favorite dogs that we often talk about and get excited when they book to come stay with us. The two breeds are fairly similar, I would use the same training methods for both breeds so you have a foot in the door having had GSDs. You can learn a lot about training here but you should definitely find a good trainer and go to obedience classes with him. I would get him on better food.
17. http://www.highlonesomeranch.com/Shepadoodles.html Now they've gone too far. :nonono2:
18.
my understanding is that they can have the raw meaty bones preferrably with the marrow if you get them fresh from the butcher or grocery. they are "softer" than the processed type you might get in a pet store.
I wouldn't think those bones are soft enough. Do the knee test  hit it on your knee and if you chicken out or it breaks your knee or it just hurts like hell then don't give it to your dog. Don't risk it either if your not sure, it's not worth it.
19. Rest in peace little man.:lilangel:
20. I go by the rule that I don't give Magic anything that i woudn't hit over my knee. She broke two teeth last year and had them capped. She broke them on a nylabone! It was expensive almost $1000.00 :errrr: I give her rope toys, kongs and kong material toys (which she doesn't really like because she can't destroy them), and big fat carrots (which she loves to chew and eat as an added bonus).
21.
foghorns work. the noise really startles them bad. you can get one at any boat store. their also good for breaking up dogfights.
For some reason we have a foghorn at our cottage and I of course as soon as I set my eyes on it I had to test it out! Wow they’re loud! My dog almost knocked me down and took off my hand trying to get the annoying loud noise. My dog is truly psychotic :stupid: but are you sure they work or just make a dog more aggressive? I can see it redirecting aggression off of something else though.
22.
I have used pepper spray because of a factorys German Shepherds. It didnt phaze them.
Oh my goodness gracious that sounds about right for a German Shepherd. You could get a German Shepherd to protect your Border Collie. Poor pupper I hope those mean dogs haven't broken his spirit. :(
