There is a theory that the South African tribes did merchant business with the sea-merchants from the regions near/around Thailand, it is through this trade business that they believe the ridge and unfortunately the dermoid sinus traits were shared. There is also a theory that the breed originated in the East and that travelors migrated to South Africa with the breed. So glad that you finally found a Thai, although I am going to be partial and say you should've got an RR.
