1. LOL. I'll bet I can find an even older one!
2.
 hehehe, sorry, this place is a bad influence
Well, I'm sure glad I'm sweet and innocent!
3. Actually, I think Candy is long gone. I think we scared her off a while ago.
4.
Oh.. howabout.. a... Mutt! :D
My favorite breed!
5. One of the best horse vets in Minnesota also does acupunture with them. I've seen her do acupuncture on a horse at a horse show. Pretty cool! I have NO problem with needles. When they take blood, or if I have to have an injection for something, I watch the whole time. Crystal, you're a big weenie! :banan: If Maya's back doesn't get better in a week or two, acupuncture sounds like a great idea to me, and my vet will refer Maya to an acupuncturist.
6. That's beautiful! It made me cry!
7.
Yay, Pooh Bear is a big boy now. Glad your house was still standing. This was funny, "smokes and cokes" Maybe the next icecream flavor.
Ewwww!
8.

There are NOreputable ,honourable, morally sound breeders who would be remotely interested in your services... any good breeder only breeds to better the breed and to fulfill a need for pups...where do you fit into that?...no where....give up now before you create another place for Puppymillers and BYB's to offload unwanted and unneccessary pups to ill prepared and inexperienced owners
A-friggin-men!
Halefrickinluia! Good riddance to ya Alex! :eviltongue:
9. Since you were thinking of Collies, lots of hair obviously doesn't bother you. So I would recommend Golden Retrievers. They've always been my favorite dog. I grew up with Goldens (and Yellow Labs). Goldens are great with kids, smart, affectionate, and most of all, very happy!
10. Kat, Zoe is gorgeous! And I agree about how light the Goldens are getting at the Crufts show (remember that one that was in March? ) the Golden almost looked white! The Golden I used to have (Crackerjack) was so red that people always asked me if he was part Irish Setter. But he was purebred Golden. And when I went to the Golden Retriever doggie picnic last fall with Jackie and Maya, almost all the Goldens were red. Isn't it funny that the show Goldens are real light but the majority of pet Goldens (at least all the ones that I see) are red? Personally, I prefer the red ones. It's good I don't show! LOL This is Cracker with my dad (they're both over the bridge now). And here is a picture of Jackie and Maya at the Golden Retriever doggie picnic. Look how light Maya is compared to the two other Goldens in the picture. I think I saw one other light one like Maya there, but all the others were red. 11. I have SO much respect for those of you who foster dogs. I know that I could never do it. I don't think that I would be able to let them go. But thanks to people like you who do foster dogs, they can get a huge head start on socialization that they wouldn't be able to get at a shelter. I adopted all three of my dogs from a shelter where all the animals are in foster homes until they're adopted, no matter how long that takes. So a big thank you for what you do!
12. My little baby has grown up! When I got home, all three puppers were sitting on the sofa looking out the window at me! There wasn't a thing out of place! And I'm sure all three were happy that Pooh Bear wasn't shut in his crate. He barks and cries when I leave when he's in the crate, and I'm sure it drives Maya and Jackie nuts. When he cries, Jackie cries along with him. I'm just so proud of my little Pooh Bear!
13. That's great! It looks like you have a winner there!
14. Okay, I'm just leaving work now. Have to stop to buy smokes and Cokes on the way, and then I'll see if I still have a house left!
15. Awww, how cute! And even the teddy bear! Adorable!
16. I was looking back through some posts, and I saw the posts about when I first went to meet Pooh Bear, and when he joined my family. I adopted him on April 3. It seems like he's been with us forever! I can't believe I just adopted him seven weeks ago! I can't even imagine NOT having Pooh Bear in my life! Did I really only have two dogs before? Hmmm, hard to even remember that! The four of us have bonded so much it's just incredible! He loves the girls; the girls love him; he loves me; I love him. We're just one big happy family! I got tears in my eyes reading back on the posts about meeting him, about the bad news about his hips, about his surgery, etc. Time flies when you're having fun! I love my kids!
17. Why is it that all the Golden Retrievers that you see on the televised dog shows are all light-colored (like Maya) when almost all the Golden Retrievers I see in person (and that I've had myself-besides Maya) have been red? Are the red Goldens looked down on as show dogs? How come? Inquiring minds want to know!
18.

my hound used to fear growl, then poop....
For a few seconds there, I thought "hound" was "husband" and boy was I confused..
Well, maybe that's the truth too! LOL!
19. My sister raises sheep, and she bought a Great Pyrenes puppy about 4 years ago and let him grow up with the sheep so that he basically thought he was a sheep. Good luck with Diego. Do you think he was playing with the sheep and played too rough? That happened with my sister's Pyr once when he was still real young.
20. I decided that Pooh Bear has earned the chance to try his first worknight loose in the house with Jackie and Maya instead of in his crate. I've been weaning him off his crating this past week. The fact that he can't chew on anything (or would be VERY difficult for him to chew on anything) has been a great time for him to earn crateless privileges! His crate is always open, so he can go in there if he wants to. Sometimes he'll take his kong in there. I work 4:30 p.m. until midnight, so when I get home tonight I'll see if he deserved his new privileges. He was outside with the girls for quite a while in the back yard today (except when he had to come inside for a barking time-out), and I took him for about a half-block walk. And speaking of his walk: He is starting to actually walk, using his "new" leg instead of hopping all the time. He's just doing awesome! I do his leg exercises a couple of times a day besides his own exercising. He has 7 days until the stitches and staples come out! And UPS STILL hasn't delivered his new anti-chew collar which should fit him better! :bad-words: I ordered it on Thursday (I think), so I should have had it at the latest by today! GRRR!
21. Great post from Rotten Two with some great suggestions. My 14 month old Aussie mix comes pretty well in my backyard, but I'm sure he would get mommie-deaf if loose with a bunch of dogs at a dog park. I've only had him for one month, so I know that will improve, but I wouldn't be able to trust him off leash yet. I bought (but haven't used yet) a "check cord" which is long (30 feet maybe?) poly rope that floats in water. I got it for my Golden/Husky mix so that I could take her swimming in the lake and not worry about her getting loose. I got it at Petsmart. That would be a good training tool for your puppy in the water. You would be able to correct him immediately if he starts humping, but you don't have to worry about the rope sinking and having dogs gets their legs caught in it. I also think it would be very beneficial for you to get your puppy neutered now. I would ask your vet and take his recommendation over the breeder's as far as how long to wait to get him fixed. Good luck with your puppy! I love Goldens! Do you have any pictures?
22. I just talked to my vet clinic, and they said that since she's moving around and playing and running and jumping like normal (and not whining or anything), that she probably just strained something (just like we do sometimes), and that if her back gets worse, or not any better, in a week or so that I should bring her in then. They also said that if dogs have a chronic back problem that they will refer them to a chiropractor or acupuncturist. So if she doesn't get better, I have plenty of options. I have a bad back myself, and I've strained my back before. That's probably all that's wrong. Hey, I just thought of something. She got loose and jumped over the fence about a week ago. Maybe she strained something then. hmmm.
23. Maya has a tender spot on her back, and I can feel a knot on her spine. She moves around fine; doesn't have any problem there. But when I pet or scratch her over that area, her skin flinches. It looks like a chiropractic adjustment would be beneficial. Does anyone use doggie chiropractors? Do vets do "adjustments"?
24.
JackieMaya, your dogs are gorgeous!
Thank you! And since I posted above, I added a black and tan Aussie mix to my family. And of course I think my puppies are the most beautiful dogs in the whole world! :D
