Does this make you as mad as it made me?
JackieMaya replied to JackieMaya's topic in Everything about dogs
The hubby should have been the one to be traded off for some hay! -
*knew the results back in March* :P
This is from way back in March? LOL. Here I thought I was watching it live. Well, I was watching the repeat live, right?

I'm glad Pushy C@t is making a comeback! Sending lots of good wishes for the rest of his life to be happy. -
I'm interested in seeing if people have pet insurance too, as I've also thought about getting it.

Coco, the Norfolk Terrier won best of show (who won the Eukuneba National title last year)
-
So who do you think is going to win best of show?
-
Pastoral Group (a/k/a Herding Group) winner: Belgian Tevurian
-
Working dog winner: Giant Schnauzer. I was also happy to see the natural ears on the Dobe! And the Newfy was a black and white - gorgeous!
-
Gundog group winner: English Setter There were 500 Goldens at the show! And they had an Irish Red and White Setter. Those are so beautiful! And the American Cocker Spaniel had a natural tail! Yay!
-
Gigi, we both posted at exactly the same time! And I was wondering if you were watching! Now up is the gundog group. Let's see if the Goldie wins!
-
The Shiba Inu won the Utility group.
-
Toy Group winner: Short-hair Chihuaha
Aside from the entire idea of someone trying to find a new home for their 'baby', if we'll take money for a dog, why not take another form of payment? Not something I would do personally, but if she wants $200 for the dog, and someone has $200 worth of hay instead, I don't see the difference. Let's say the someone with the hay is a good person who will give the dog a really good home, still don't like the 'trade for hay' idea? Just tossing that out as food for thought.
It just doesn't sound to me like she cares where the dog goes, as long as she gets something for her. -
Coco, the Norfolk Terrier, won the Terrier Group.

Tanner definitely needs a new home. She obviously doesn't care about him or want him. She got her little dog so now Tanner is out of luck. I hope you can convince her to surrender him to a no-kill shelter. Poor guy.
-
Okay, they just said that the Hound Group was the first group. The Beagle won the Hound Group.
-
I was flipping through channels, and the 2005 Crufts Dog Show is on Animal Planet right now! Cool! Right now it's the Hound Group. I don't know if they have the groups in the same order in England as they do in the U.S., so I don't know how much of the show I've missed. But hopefully it'll be on again.

Anyone know how much Gravol you can give a dog?
JackieMaya replied to DogPaddle's topic in Everything about dogs
I'm assuming that maybe it's some form of tranquilizer? The Golden Retriever I used to have (Cracker) got so freaked out on the Fourth of July with the fireworks that we had to give him tranquilizers or he would just hide and throw up. Poor guy. -
This was posted on one of the horse message boards I belong to:
Hubby says we have to many and she has to go. She is akc registered ,housbroken, and loves kids and attention. Shes a beauty and solid black which you do not find many of. Im asking 200.00 and with hubby hollering that price is not firm. Make me a offer. She needs more attention than I can give her anyways so it would be better for her to have a good home where she can get the attention she deserves and needs. . I will also do some tradeing for hay or anything else you might have that I need. She stays in side and has been kept outdoors also. I will take some pictures asap and send them to you. She is also housebroken. I still have my baby for sale. I guess the woman that wanted her couldnt convince her hubby to let her have a dog. Like I said I would take a trade like hay . She realy well tempered and very smart. I know theres someone out there that would love her. Email me plz if your interstered and would like to see some pics.
I highlighted the parts that REALLY made me mad! And she calls her "her baby." GRRR! Trade for hay? :WTF: :wallbash:

What is Gravol? -
My beloved Pooh Bear is a prime example of bad (obviously BYB) breeding. He had hip dysplasia (which is genetic) when I adopted him at 14 months old. He had been with the rescue shelter I adopted him from since he was 7 weeks old. He had hip surgery last week, which will prevent crippling arthritis in that hip. Hopefully his other hip will stay okay. To steal some of the signatures on Dogo (one of which is mine): "Don't breed while shelter animals die" "Safe a life; Adopt a dog"
I hate that show too! Everytime a german shepherd mix or pitbull comes on they are "Highly agressive" but when ever a lab or lab mix comes on, they say that the dog is sweet-natured,even if the dog tries to attack them because "it is scared" they need to cancel that show, or stop being raceist!!!I've known much nice pits and shepherds than those mean ugly labs!!!
Who's being racist?

I think that all the Animal Cops shows are wonderful. The people who work for the ASPCA love animals and try to do whatever they can to rescue animals from bad situations and to find them forever homes whenever possible. Unfortunately, not all cities have sufficient facilities to be able to save all the animals. The animals who are aggressive (no matter what breed) are often termed unadoptable because they don't have the manpower to rehabilitate the animals. I saw one show where two small breed dogs (don't remember what breed) were confiscated from their owner because they let them loose all the time and they bit several people. One of the dogs was deemed adoptable and the other was deemed too aggressive and was ordered put to sleep. In Detroit, any pitbull that is confiscated is put to sleep because that is the law there because of the huge dog fighting problem there. It's not what the Animal Control people want to do, but they have no choice. Like someone else posted, the NY ASPCA has rehomed many pit bulls and has shown that they can be a great family dog. Unfortunately, most of the people who watch the Animal Cop shows are animal lovers, not the animal abusers/horders/idiot owners who SHOULD be watching the show.

Golden Retriever is still my favorite breed. I also love Bernese Mountain Dogs and Flat-coated Retrievers, and Newfoundlands.
