I found a professional dog sitter who will come to my house 3 times a day for 30 minutes each time to take care of the three kids and feed them, let them outside, play with them, give them lots of TLC, etc., when I'll be in Texas next month. She said the charge would be $78 per day for the three dogs. That's less than I would have paid at the kennel I used to take Jackie and Maya to, and they'll be at their own home, so they'll be happier. She's coming over tomorrow (Saturday) right before their lunch time so she can see their feeding routine, and then get to know them. She has her own pet-sitting business, and she used to work at the kennel I always took Jackie and Maya to! I'll let you know how the meeting goes tomorrow!

Ohhhh I hope you get to adopt him! I love Newfies! We need pictures of Chewie now!
-
My kids all love them. And they all take their time eating them too. It really cleans up their teeth! But Pooh Bear things that it tastes good when it comes out the other end too. Green dog poop. Ever since I saw Pooh Bear eating Greenie poop, I don't give my kids Greenies any more.

Ummm...doesn't she know that Newfies are supposed to be big.? :hmmmm:

I took all three of the puppers for a nice long walk around the neighborhood (probably about 1/2 to 3/4 mile or so - I'll have to clock it sometime). Pooh Bear is TOTALLY walking on his "new" leg now. When he runs, he hops on both hind legs sometimes because he can go faster-LOL. The three kids walked together just great! I was so proud of them. I had lots of neighbors tell me they couldn't believe I could walk three dogs by myself when some of them have trouble walking one! Hopefully they'll all be tired tonight. There's a parade that goes right in front of my house tonight, so I'm sure they'll all be barking like crazy. I have to work, so they'll have to watch the parade without me. Next time I take them for a walk, I'll take a picture of them from my vantage point. They're SOOO good walking together!

Pet Supplies Plus now allows dogs!
JackieMaya replied to CincoandDahlilasgirl's topic in Everything about dogs
We must not have Pet Supplies Plus in Minnesota. I've never heard of them. Oh, your kids will have a blast going shopping with you! I love to take my kids (one at a time or all three at once) to Petsmart or Petco. We all have fun. -
Happy Birthday Gorgeous! I hope I age as well as you have Zoe! You're a beauty!

I always have droplets on the toilet seat.
Are you sure it's the dog leaving the dribbles??
LOL - sounds like a personal problem to me! :baby:

And I thought Jackie had a long tongue! Yikes! You could wrap that little dog's tongue around his whole body and still have some left over! LOL

Jackie (the princess) is very lady-like. I can recognize her drinking from her lapping too. She goes lap-lap-lap, lap-lap-lap. And she always licks her mouth before she walks away from the water bowl. Maya (the tomboy) just goes lap-lap-lap-lap-lap until she's done, and she dribbles water all over the floor. When it's hot outside, Maya will lie down at the outside water bowl and hang her front feet in the water. I'm sure it feels good, but it gets the water nice and brown! When Pooh Bear drinks, he takes little laps, and when he's done, he always has water drops on his whole face.
So I guess since I have a chihuahua there's no need for training.... :o
Hey, that'll save a lot of time not having to do any training!LOL

I've never heard of a celebrity who has a Goldsky (Maya) or a Goldkrautllie (Jackie -- Okay, I really had to stretch to come up with that "breed"-LOL).

Tammy, that's so great! I'm so happy that she found you to get her started on her new life! She's come so far in the short time she's been with you! I can't wait to see pictures of her once you're all done with the grooming (if you ever are-LOL). You da bomb!

I think you decided to rename Thelma "Delta" (if I remember correctly). How is she doing? Did you end up having to shave her? Any new pics? Inquiring minds want to know!

OOoooh, Mr. HF is SOOO brave! He's not even wearing protective clothing!

That always just breaks my heart when I see senior dogs abandoned or surrendered. You and Kevin are GOOD people! I hope the lump is nothing major and that she gets a great home to spend her remaining days, and hopefully it'll be your home! Keep us updated!

You silly girls! It wasn't underlined on anyone's computer. It was just a slightly different color. LOL I don't have any suggestions other than what's already been mentioned. NILIF sounds like the way to go. Good luck.

LOL! What a silly girl! Now you'll have to buy her a whole wardrobe! Cute pictures!

LOL, good girl Kes! Jackie always used to tattle on Maya when Maya would get her cable wrapped around a tree. "Mom, she did it again!"

Just when the barking starts getting under control ...
JackieMaya replied to JackieMaya's topic in Everything about dogs
Maya was wearing her lovely citronella perfume after the barkfest! -
... one of the Malamutes from the block behind gets loose and stands right outside of my fence. ALL three of my pups were barking their heads off, even Jackie, and she never barks at anything outside. And of course I couldn't get ANY of them to shut up or OR to come in. Finally, I tricked them by asking who wanted to eat lunch or have a treat, and they all came in. Finally two guys showed up and were trying to catch the Mal (named Mike), and it sounded like Mike was having a lot of fun with his freedom. But they finally caught him. Luckily it was in the middle of the day when all the barking was going on. All the dogs in the neighborhood were barking a lot today! Mike has visited a few times before, and Maya has visited with Mike and his buddies when she used to jump the fence. Luckily he just stands outside our fence and doesn't jump in.

The Haltis are also easier and quicker to put on and take off, especially when the dogs are extremely excited to go for a walk or ride.
