LOL! Payback is a bitch!

When I was in the kitchen having a smoke, Pooh Bear started chewing on a small plastic wastebasket. I told him to leave it, and he did. Then I went upstairs to change into my shorts and t-shirt. When I came downstairs, there was Pooh Bear on the futon chewing on the plastic wastebasket that he took downstairs when I was upstairs. What a sneak! And as you all know, Maya and Pooh Bear like to bark. Well, once in a while Jackie will give out one little bitty woof at something and of course Maya and Pooh Bear run over there and start barking. Of course, Jackie is silent then. She's an almost perfect dog, but she's a troublemaker!

Yippee! When I got home from work, there wasn't any barf! All three kids said they feel fine. So I'll feed them their supper tonight. I'm so happy Maya wasn't sick any longer than she was! -

Maya is a traveling barfer too. When Jackie barfs, she does it all in one spot. But Maya will barf a little, then walk forward a few steps, then barf a little more. I usually have about 3 barf puddles each time Maya barfs. Pooh Bear has only barfed once since I've had him, and that was on the way home from the vet clinic after his hip surgery. It was a nice big pile on the floor mat. -

Well, it's been five hours with no barfing, so hopefully Maya got it all out of her system. I didn't feed them this morning either with touchy stomachs, so I'm sure they'll be ready to eat tonight when I get home from work. Her face is telling me she's feeling good now too. I have two big-a$$ water bowls in the house and one big-a$$ water bowl outside, so as long as I'm here they're all drinking enough water. When I'm gone, they don't drink, but at least I'll only be gone for about 5-1/2 hours tonight instead of my normal 9 hours. I think we're in the clear! -
I hope your puppy feels better soon! Thank you for taking him in. My brother and sister-in-law did the same thing. They found an adordable American Eskimo dog tied to a pole in Las Vegas where they live. He was a wonderful little dog and they had him for six months, and then one day he just up and died. It was a while ago, but I think the vet thought it was a heart attack or something like that.

Thanks guys for your well wishes for my girls! Maya just barfed again. That's the third time today. I just feel so bad for her. Jackie seems to be just fine after her big barf last night. -

Awww, he's just such a cutie! He sure is photogenic! -
A good way to start with off-leash training is with a REAL long leash (like 20 feet or so) so that they almost can't tell that they're on a leash. And that way you still have control if they start to run.

I just talked with my vet, and he thinks that maybe it's from the antibiotics (that they're both on) and the pain pills (that Maya's on) from their scuffle last week. I didn't give meds to either of them last night or this morning, and my vet said to stop the meds and if they're not better in two days to bring them in. I called in to work and am talking 1/2 day off so I can keep an eye on them. I really don't like to have to leave my dogs for 9 hours when they're sick. My supervisor has 3 Goldens, so she understands dogs and dog people. It's real hot and humid again today, so we'll spend most of the day in the air conditioning, and I'll fill up their pool for them later so they can soak in that. I also need to go to the weight clinic, get my nails done and get the oil changed in my truck. -

Maya just threw up again right next to me while I was on the computer. It was all brownish gooey liquidy barf. I'm calling the vet now. -
Would you be intimidated if you saw this?
My first thought when I saw the picture was, if I was face to face with that dog, I would be backing up lol. After I read you said he was happy, I could see it. It's kinda like those pictures that change depending on how you look at them. I could easily tell in person but is there any way to tell from a photograph if its agression or a smile?
That's right, in a picture you can't see the rest of their body language, see how they react to your body language, hear any noises they're making, etc. -

OMD! How cute is that! I just love Stealth! And I hate you because of your vacation (just kidding). Have a great time! -
I feel for ya, because when Maya jumps the fence she gets mommy-deaf. When I find her, she'll come running up toward me, smile, and then run back the other way. When I take the kids swimming, Maya has to be on a check cord because I can't trust her off leash. One thing I did when I had people visiting, is I taped a big piece of paper to the door that said "do NOT let Maya out without her harness on." Maybe you could tape a note to both doors saying "Look for Sassy before opening door" or something like that.

Okay, now I'm getting worried. When I came downstairs after doing my morning weigh-in, I rubbed Maya's side with my foot like I always do when she's at the bottom of the steps, and she started doing the pre-barf heaving. Then she went up the stairs and threw up. And it was the liquidy barf that was in the hallway last night. So I think it WAS her that threw up in the hallway last night. I put some Panalog on Jackie's nose owies last night shortly before she threw up, so I think that maybe she licked that and it made her sick? But I've been putting it on her nose every day and this is the first time she's thrown up. I think I'm going to call in sick today so I can keep an eye on the kids and be able to take them in to my vet if they get sick any more. No barfing from Pooh Bear. I just hate it when my babies are sick! -
I got home from work about an hour late tonight, and when I walked in there were a few little barf puddles in the hallway. I figured it was Maya because she acted like she REALLY wanted to go outside. And Jackie and Pooh Bear were acting normal. But just now Jackie threw up her whole dinner (I fed them about an hour and a half ago). The barf puddles didn't have food in them, but just now it was all dog food. I'm going to keep an eye on her and if she still doesn't feel well in the morning I'll take her to the vet. Hopefully it's nothing. And when I was cleaning up her food barf with paper towels, Pooh Bear grabbed one of the barf-filled paper towels out of the wastebasket and I had to pry his mouth open to release it. He likes eating green poop too (after Greenies). Goofball!

My kids could care less about going for a ball when I throw it. But they do like chewing on them and deflocking them.
-
Kongs are great toys! Pooh Bear has chewed up just about every other kind of toy, but he can't chew through the Kongs. The other day at Petsmart I got three Zap balls that make noise and light up when they hit the ground. They're real hard balls, and Jackie and Maya have never been able to chew through them, but Pooh Bear had it in pieces within about 10 minutes.

All of my kids love their belly rubs, but especially Pooh Bear. He's constantly dropping to the floor and rolling over and spreading everything as wide as he can. He likes to be scratched where his balls used to be too. When I scratch his chest when he's upside down he closes his eyes. Maya is a big time leaner. She loves to be scratched anywhere, but she also flops over and spreads 'em so you can get her tummy. And when her back legs are spread, she loves to be scratched between them. If you stop petting her, she'll throw her head back and look at you. Jackie likes the belly rubs too. But she loves to get the top of her head scratched and her cheeks. And Jackie is the butt girl. She'll swing her butt around so she can get her butt scratches. None of my kids will "play the banjo" with their hind legs no matter where I scratch, which is weird because every dog I've ever had before them would do that.
