1. Court, you have nothing to feel bad about. You did the responsible thing according to your dogs' personalities. The lady with the Goldens obviously just doesn't understand any dog who isn't a happy, goofy Golden.
2. I agree that your puppy needs to get to the vet immediately - today, or you're going to have a dead puppy soon. I'm sorry, but if you can't afford to take your dog to the vet, especially when he's so sick, you shouldn't have a dog.
3. Where in Wisconsin is it? I live in Minnesota, in the Twin Cities.
4. Awww, poor little Kes! Hopefully giving her a day off food will do the trick. I always feel just horrible when my babies are sick so I know what you mean there.. I hope Kes is back to herself real soon!
5. My friend, Dawn, is thinking of teaching Red (her 13-pound Shitzu/Pug boy) to use a litter box. She usually has normal hours, but at the end of every month, she oftentimes works 10+ hours, and doesn't want to make him have to try to hold it that long. Has anyone ever used a litter box for their small dogs? I've seen lots of stuff on the internet about training dogs to use litter boxes, and they make litter boxes specifically for dogs.
6. Today I filled up the kiddie pool for the kids, and I always throw a bunch of their toys in there. Pooh Bear likes to dunk his whole head under water to get the balls. Then he just drops them outside the pool. But one time he brought one up to me (on the other side of the yard), and I threw it in the pool (yep, I actually made it), and he ran to the pool, got the ball and ran back to me with it. Then I threw it a few more times (sometimes making it in the pool and sometimes not), and every time he would bring it back to me. So my herding dog is a better retriever than my retrievers! Jackie and Maya don't bring them back (if they even go get them). LOL
7. Yahoo! Another demented soul to enter the deep, dark underworld of Dogomania! BWAHAHA! :evilbat:
8. That's perfect! LOL
9.

Just don't tell bk I was cheating on her... ok?
YOU BITCH!!!! We're THROUGH, ya hear me???
Ohoh Jess, BK found out!
10. When I took Jackie and Maya in to the vet this spring for their spring check and vacinnations, I was shocked to find out that Jackie weighed 90 pounds and Maya weighed 85 pounds (the most for either of them)! Maya now weighs 75 pounds and Jackie is probably around 85 pounds. Everyone in my house is dieting!
11.
Hey Mei, why don't you split the difference and get a Tibetan Mastiff? Great temperaments, the coat of a longhaired GSD but the size and shape of a mastiff :) . /quote] I love Tibetan Mastiffs! If I was going to get a mastiff breed, that's what I would get.
12. If anyone came into my yard or house, my dogs would probably go up to him with their tails wagging and say hi. But they ARE good watchdogs (well, Maya and Pooh Bear are). Just the barking and the sight of three dogs is a great deterrent.
13. Well, at least you did your duty and got onto Dogo! Good girl!
14. With Labs and Goldens, unfortunately many ignorant people think that they're born already trained, so they don't need to do anything with the dog. Would that be a reverse stereotype? "Labs are always friendly and smart so I don't need to do any training." GRRR!
15. Good luck with getting a Corso puppy! It sounds like you have plenty of time to do thorough research on the breed and prospective breeders. How fun!
16. Geez, was a crummy ER vet! Whenever I've had to go to the emergency vet, I've never had to wait long. Sorry yours was so bad! Poor Fritz, sounds like he did a number on his leg. I have no idea what's safe for cats, so I'll let the cat experts take over on that. Good luck with your kitty!
17. Awww, poor Sassy. I've never had a dog with UTIs, but my mom (who is in a nursing with Alzheimer's) used to get them a lot. I hope the vet can help get her system figured out so that she doesn't continue to get them.
18. A big Congratulations to both of you! I don't think that Jackie would have any problem passing either test, and I know that she would be an awesome therapy dog. When I had only her, I took her to my mom's nursing home several times, and she was wonderful, and the residents just loved her. My other two kids are a little too enthusiastic to probably pass.
19. How cool! I love hearing about senior dogs having fun!
20. I've seen Animal Planet's coverage of that event before. That's so cool. I can't believe you didn't get more in the donation jar! If I lived in NY, I sure would have been there! Thanks for the pictures!
21.
Trap him in one room to limit movement...and good luck at the vets!
Yeah, what she said. Let us know what the vet says!
22. Welcome Aussie Mom and Sarah! It's good to hear from people who understand that we at Dogo make the welfare of animals our top priority. I hope you stick around!
23.
Well, JM, remember I am the bitch who starts trouble, so maybe I'll just start trouble in another thread. I'm sure there'll be one around to annoy me if I look hard enough.
Kewl! :ylsuper:
24.
Hurrah! :drinking:
But what will we do for entertainment now?
25.
I noticed that DeafAussieLover's name is in black on the topic page. Does that mean she is gone? Everyone else's is blue and underlined.
Yep, and now so is Kayz.
