Hmm, they look a little like coyote's to me. Maybe i'm just weird. Not like normal coyotes but like they could have some traits of coyotes. Hard to explain lol.

If it's a first dog and your looking for a larger breed, I'd highly recommend a lab (i know over popular), or a boxer. I think a american bulldog is a great option though next to a pitbull... If you wanted to go smaller *which it doesn't sound like* you could get a Boston Terrier, or a Pug.. Those are cute! :D

Smokie drinks pretty neat unless we are playing and he goes for a quick drink, then he don't care, and slops some on the floor loll

I don't know who has a black lab, I saw that either Mary Kate or Ashley olsen owned a chocolate lab. But I'm partial to black.. I know baddddd. :D

Thanks so much for the info guys, sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. (I havent been around much). But thanks guys im looking into every suggestion as we speak. I fogot to mention that isn't just thunder but mainly, it's very loud noises. Like when there was workers working on my parents roof, he was afraid. We thought he thought it was thunder. And he's afraid of firecrackers too. My poor dog :) But thanks sooo much, you've been more help then you can know. :)

We've been getting plenty of thunder storms in UP MI. The weather here has been unusally hot. Anyways, this terrifies my dog it always has. Even rain scares him. He pants hard and actually shakes bd during a storm. This can't be good for him... Did any of you ever deal with the situation before, and ifso what do you do? Smokie is kind of skiddish and scard of a lot of things, but you wouldn't guess it meeting him for the first time. He's terrified of fish, lol. My parents had to get rid of that singing fish thing, lol. But anyways, I mean its been going on for years, but what do you think? his place of comfort is the bathtub, but goes around the house driving everybody crazy. My poor doggie. Any advice at all is appreciated.

Smokie loves it when i kiss him and hugg him. When I say give me a hug he puts his head down in my chest are arm.. He loves it from me, and my family, but if somebody else tried to kiss him and love up with him, he'd probably be like wtf are you doing, and get away from me lol

Wow crazy! Last time I was home smokie was staring at me eating a peice of banana so i broke like a micro peice off, and he spit it out, and then was scared of it when i showed him the big banana close to his face.. LOL! I knew he'd spit it out.. (he doesn't like anything unless it's meat/treats). I just had to prove it to him.. lol. Smokie HATES pickles too! But I don't know why somebody would feed there dog fruits, unless there is something I am unaware of.

Smokie hates rain and is terrified of it. And he doesn't like to stay outside in the snow either... but hey he doesn't have much of a choice sometimes, when we live in U.P. Michigan. :lol:

I haven't read the replies. But I don't think you could make a complaint against an annoyoing dog for barking. Sure you could call about getting lose, but they'd most likely just warn her. Your best bet, is to contact the animal humane society, and as if they offer free or low cost animal training, or maybe ask if someone can talk about counceling also.

i go two months rarely without coming home and my dog always remembers me! I'm sure she'll probably remember him. People say they go without seeing there past dogs for years, and they still remember them.

Oh gosh, somebody my bf isorta knows just got attacked by a pack of coyotes, in cali. Crazy! He didn't get to hurt from it. He picked up hubcaps from the road and scared them off.

hmm, maybe he just has dry skin?... not sure wha tyou could do for that.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. whoever said labs are escape artists, aint that the truth... Again, i'm sorry it sucks to lose a beloved pet.

I think it depends on the situation.. I personally wouldn't want to adopt an 'aggresive' dog, but their are others who are better then me that would.

People are so stupid sometimes! That really sucks. I hope he's doing better!

I'd go with what the vet said probably but i'd do a little of my own research as well. 4 months seems awfully early, I'd think 6 would be ideal. But I havent went to school for numerous years for it lol.

That's good, I tried it on Smokie, but it didn't wrok so well. Actually your probably gonna think this is weird but I what I found works best is a tiny bit of vanilla extract mixed in a spray bottle of water. It really covers the smell well. Well better then anything else that we tried.. Even tried tomato juice baths, and such, those were not fun !

I think they are beautiful puppies. But I wouldn't pay an outrages amount for them. But that's an entirely different situation. I'd say she doesn't need any more dogs, and ofcourse that she should invest training/time the one she already has. I agree with you on that one! Wow, 19 and 5 dogs? I'm 22, and been with my boyfriend 4 years, and we are just talking about getting a dog. Well we have before, but theres no way, we would ever get 2 or more at our present situation. Man she's racking up some credit card bills. Yeah let's hope those dog's stay healthy. I hope she's getting these dogs fixed.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I was reading jugs too. lol. I don't exactly feel the same way about it as you though. I feel if there are more at the puppy store and she's willing to pay to give the dog a good home, then why not? Now I don't agree with the whole designer dogs, aspect at all. I don't agree with that in the first place. But every dogs needs a home, weither you spend 65 at an animal shelter, or 750 from a breeder. Now, I think that to pay that much for a cross is outrages ofcourse, but if it floats her boat. Caution: I do not support pet stores selling mix breed dogs for that much.

How sad for the boy. :(
