1. I'm going to stick with the Burns for now  The Nutro certainly is rather expensive and I trust your judgement TDG oh wonderful personal nutrition advisor! 8)
2. One of my friends has a crossbred collie x golden retriever and shes a big smiler
3. If I can I will try sneak a photo of her when her owners aren't there just to show you. I feel so sorry for her. She just lays there on the concrete looking so dull, but when she sees me she whimpers and jumps up at the fence and wags her wee tail furiously. She is still very much in my mind. I know I have Kes and I talk about her a lot but I could never forget Meg. I still think about her every day. :(
4. Oh yes its usually the little dogs have a big attitude!
5. I would say those little dogs would grow up to be very good companions and working pups :D
6. Thanks Court. They are 2 very different little dogs and Meg took a lot longer to peak than what I think Kes will take. Meg was always so willing and compliant, but Kes is an eager beaver and will ask for work, but her drive is more powerful than Megs which I love. Speaking of Megs....you guys wouldn't recognise her if I took a photo of her. I still sneak down to see her and she has got so overweight and her coat is all overgrown and shabby. The state of her just tells its own story I guess, but she certainly isn't getting the same care or exercise as she did when I worked with her. :(
7. This is just a bit of a brag really. Nothing too special but only doggy people would understand. Kes and I have been practicing down stays lately and today being sunday the park was full of footballing people, dogs , bikes, kids you name it. Perfect opportunity for practicing with distractions. She was doing a down stay with me about 10 metres away from her and not far at the other side of her a fight broke out between a samoyed and another Border collie. I know of both dogs and the BC is very hostile to other dogs and quick to attack. Panic stations errupted and I was scared of Kes running over and getting hurt, but she kept her down stay. I really am so so proud of her, because it was a huge test of distraction and at 4 months i would never subject her purposely to that. She didn't even flinch and when I broke her off she kept with me and didnt even look at the other dogs. She is just doing so well and so intensely bonded with me right now it feels great! :D Only doggy people would get that lol! She is settling so much more too and getting more time away from the crate, and when we came back from the park I brought her into the sunroom with me to watch Eastenders. She hopped up on the chair opposite and she lay there and fell asleep. Usually she would just go mad running around the room. I've never had moments like these and I'm just loving having my own wee dog. I love watching her be so content :D
8. sorry Court but its better to be safe than sorry. Hope Free will be fine

Nutro

At last Nutro has arrived in N.Ireland! Now what are peoples opinions of this? I know I have heard people saying it was great in the past but I'd love to hear opinions thanks
10. I would honestly seek guidance from a professional behaviourist. I could give many suggestions but that would be careless of me as without professional interaction and competence, it could all go wrong.
11. Thats ok, as long as she is spayed asap, but please don't put it of because accidents will always happen. I just read on another forum that Im on about a young Border collie bitch who gave birth to 5 puppies and lost her own life last night. She was a rescued bitch and taken from horrid conditions already pregnant, but her death was certainly preventable.
12. same here. I do click but i haven't posted lately when i do click
13.
how the pups turn out depends, GENETICALLY, on the health of the parents.
I have to just say that genetics will not always account for the health of the dog. It will also depend on environmental factors. A dog with parents who have 0/0 hip scores a piece could still have Hip dysplasia if fed an incorrect diet/given wrong exercise.
14. Kes is very paw orinetated. if she wants my attention she will wallop my chin or face with a big lanky leg! :o She did it today while I was snuggling with her watching tv and near poked my eyeball out. I told her I can't grow another and that she better be careful
15. Go Goo and have a safe quick sleep
16. ok thanks R2. I knew about the grapes and raisins but forgot to list those. I know 2 people who lost dogs to raisin poisoning :(
17. are any fruits or veg actually dangerous? I don't think I've heard of any that are but I'd like to make sure.
18. thats really weird someone would do that :o
19. I had Kes at the park this afternoon for a wee bit of training. I'm practicing stays with distractions at the moment like dogs, screaming kids, footballs, cats etc so I am using a tie out stake like this one below so if she does break the stay to see another dog she will be reminded that she can't move far. I seen a crowd of the doggy brigade coming (old people and their equally ancient dogs) and snapped up the opportunity for practice. I got my stake out of my bag and a wee old woman stops and tells me i'm awful wicked and cruel to use that on a wee puppy:o . Did she think i was going to beat her with it or stab her? I was just dumbstruck! Unfortunately she was right beside the gate and disappeared through it so I didn't even get the chance to explain what its for, but I will certainly be on the lookout so I can educate her!
20. What sort of veggies do you lot give to your dogs? I've started to give Kes some green beans, broccoli, cauliflower in with her dinner cos she always seems to be half starved. Although I have a suspicion that if she was given the full bag of food she would still be starving
21. You have to remember though that talent has not proven to be genetic. There is no such thing as an agility or obedience gene and I laugh when people try to spin that one. I've seen it so many times before and a perfect example was a guy in England who is a friend of mine who spent
