  1. what exactly is the story and then perhaps we can attempt to aid you?
  2. I think that sounds like a great idea. Your yard is fened, but just make sure it is absolutely dog proof from both sides. Also at night at the age of 6 months he should be able to hold his bladder for 7 hours. Try to get him into a proper routine, where you give him a good run before you go to work in the morning followed by his moring feed then when you come home at night, repeat this and take him to pee before bed and he should be ok. Routine helps housetraining as well. Take it from a fellow person who has just been diagnosed with TC epilepsy, sleep is very important. 3 nights of no sleep with an allergic reaction to one of the meds resulted in me having a series of grand mals. If you get your pup into a good routine, then both you and him will feel a lot better
  3. oh i didn't even see this thread but seeing the date , I would have been in Texas at that time. Many congratulations on your litter
  4. It appears that Mum here is responsible for the boking... I gave her a pigs ear earlier today and shes been sick again and there were rather a lot of bits of undigested pigs ear in it  She wont be getting anymore of those thats for sure! She looks so sad too and shes very uneasy that she messed her crate up boking, but I've told her its ok and she can't help it and cuddled her. I don't like seeing my wittle ickle baby dog sick :(
  5. Think I spoke too soon! She just boked up a wee bit of dinner although there is also something in it that looks like she has scavenged at the park  Yeah they always have fireworks over here in the uk as part of halloween. Do they not do that in the U.S then?
  6. Thank goodness Kes doesn't seem to be reacting so far with the fireworks going off. I just took her for a walk down to the park and to get some yummies for me from the gas station and she just acted like normal..well apart from trying to make friends with a little french bulldog who clearly didn't want to friends but shes very persistent  . If its not raining and stormy later, I'm going to take her with me to inspiration point to watch. Its a field up so high that you can see for miles and miles around over 2 counties and its my place that I go to when I need to get away from everything, but its the best seat in the house to see fireworks and hopefully I should get some photos too  Keep all your animals safe tonight and get those kitties into the house early!
  7. aww cute, although I have to say I'm not in favour of doggy clothes unless its a small dog or a dog that feels the cold and its properly needed for to keep the pupper warm. On that topic, my Mum wants to get Kes a wax barbour jacket and I'm trying to tell her that shes a working dog and in Texas she wont be nearly as cold as she would be here! :o
  8. Wooly is very cute looking but has that devious little glint in his eye saying hes alert and ready :P
  9. oh dear, Wooly Houdini! Got to love that Ventolin though for quick action
  10. welcome to dogo and thats a super heartfelt story
  11. lucky save thankfully! Idiot parents for not keeping their kid in after dark
  12. .....beautiful Meg was born into the world on the 29th October 1996 and little did her breeder know that a star had been born. Meg is and always will be a one in a million dog. From a little ball of black and white fluff who was reluctant to walk on the lead and was very shy compared to her litter mates, to prancing proudly in the Obedience world championships at Crufts. Since I was a little girl watching Crufts on tv, I dreamed that some day I would have a dog and be there and then it really was just a far fetched dream watching the great British obedience competitors like Mary Ray, Pat Watson, Herbie Watson, Lynn Green. Meg turned that dream into reality and I have never felt so proud (and terrified) when I walked into that main ring at Crufts with all the spotlights on us. In a way it still was a dream because it was my ultimate achievment to compete at international championship level and that little dog tried so very hard for me even though she was feeling overwhelmed that day. For 5 years, Meg took me to Crufts qualifying for Obedience and agility and demonstrating the Kennel club Good citizen dog scheme, canine freestyle/heelwork to music and participating in the Therapy dogs parade. Indeed each year seemed as if we had a busier schedule than the previous year, but the most admirable thing about Meg is that she always would try. Even if we had spent many exhausting days at Crufts and it does drain you, but if we were competing on the last day she would still try her best to please me because that in Meg's life has been a huge centre point. She has always wanted to please me. She took me on a wonderful journey each as special as the last year and for 9 years she has taken me on a learning experience all over the U.K and Ireland that can only be described simply as amazing. She still remains the record holder in all of Ireland, north and south to be the only dog to compete at both Championship agility and Championship obedience level. Our names were on international television, newspapers, magazines and radio and I have lost count of how many rosettes that Meg and I gathered over the years, but I estimate it would be near to a thousand. Quite an achievment for a little dog with a big heart. Even away from the spotlight, Meg was a firm favourite with the children in hospital when she visited them, along with the patients in elderly care units. When her service jacket was put on, she raised herself ever so slightly as if to say "I'm on duty now and I have a job to do". I have no doubt in my mind that Meg and I would still be partners both in the ring and out of it, but circumstances interfered. One magazine once quoted me saying "Meg owes me nothing " and that still holds true. Happy 9th Birthday Meg and I hope so much that you have more happy birthdays to celebrate. I will always love you and like I tell you each time that I see you through the fence; You will always be my dog in a million. 13. aww Thats so sweet and cute. Kes isn't allowed access to anything of mine like my wee bear i sleep with because she chews like a beaver!
  14. I admire you....but I could never give any of mine away :o umm I love all my cuddly toys too much and I feel like I am disloyal to them I even think about giving any away
  15. I yelled at her because it was my reaction because i was so stunned. Shes 7 months old now and is on a schedule and always goes to the grass before we go to bed and never gets access to water past about 8pm when she gets a walk. She was crate trained when she was roughly about 12 weeks of age and did very well . Yes you shouldn't shout and reprimand a puppy throughout house training but when that pup is a dog that is fully house trained, then yes I do believe in reprimanding the dog verbally unless the situation was unavoidable and the owner was out for too long/dog was sick. In this case, it was me that jumped to conclusions and I was in the wrong fully. Kes will be rewarded today by having her rabies vaccine
  16. :o This morning I went down and there was a puddle in Kes' crate and outside the crate and I couldn't believe my eyeballs! I gave her such a yelling at and told her she was a very bad dog for that. She hasn't peed in her crate since she was a wee wee ickle puppy. I went out to the garage and Mum was there and I told her, then I noticed the top of the freezer was soaking wet... Mum had left a pork fillet out to defrost and when she brought it from the freezer in the garage to the kitchen, it dripped :-? Poor Kes was stunned and hurt that I yelled at her and I feel awful for doing it now, so I gave her lots of cuddles and told her she was good. With Kes it only takes a cuddle to make her forgive
  17. well looks like the shit has hit the fan tonight :o 18 pages of it! She is just unbelievable and this is getting more like something you could pay to go and see in the film theatre! :o Your detective work is amazing girls :D
  18. she cheated as well? More revelations about her....I shouldn't really be surprised I guess. Shes capable of anything it seems.
  19. I was walking Kes tonight and we came across a yellow labrador who was bolting straight up the road. It was obvious that he was lost because he was darting house to house and to the fields and back tracking so Kes and I coaxed him over but just as I thought I had him, he bolted away again, so Kes and I gave chase to him :-? . We must have chased for about 45 minutes non stop and he eventually ran into a housing area which is more closed in. I tried to call him over and whistle to him but he just kept going then he tried to get past me. He managed to do that, then I darted to the other side of the road with Kes and rounded him so we sort of blocked him. I let Kes off her lead because the area is quiet and I sent her out to the right using the "out" command I've taught her for when she does agility, and told her to lie then to go out again, so with me on one side and Kes closing in on him, she penned him and I was able to grab his collar and attach the two dogs together using Kes' lead. :D He had tags on and was called Milo and I went back to my house and I called the owner who was an ungrateful  so and so and this dog was from about 30 miles away and had escaped with a black lab! Anyhow that was Kes and I's little adventure tonight in the pouring down rain. I haven't taught her any sheep dog trialling apart from the Out which is more for agility and the lie down but wow it was amazing to see that ability kick in. I think her breeder would have been proud... I certainly was :D
  20. I didnt even say thanks to you Michele. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for taking the stand and promoting awareness. You truly are one of the brilliant people and I respect you so much for doing that for the nation of furbabes that can't speak for themselves. (((((((hugs)))))))
  21. Hi Lorraine, welcome to Dogo first of all and most importantly thank you for broadcasting to your rescue group colleagues about Naomi. Thank you for doing your hardest to ensure another furbabe like Cody isn't euthanased unnecessarily. Thanks to the power of the internet we will do our hardest to ensure that she never is able to adopt again and dispose of a dog
