1.
I'd talk to ur vet cuz Dahlila scratchedat hers and hers got pink so we took her to the vet and found out she was alergic to the stitches
Wow, I never heard of a dog being allergic to stitches! I never thought of that being a possibility.
2. Owie, they look pretty tender. I agree with what AllAmericanPup said.
3. Oh, I would love to see something like that! I would have it on all the time! On Animal Planet, they had the "Puppy Bowl" during the Super Bowl. And I totally forgot to watch it. One of my friends said that they just had an area that looked like a mini-football field with a bunch of puppies in there. There was no narration or anything, just watching the puppies play. Every once in a while, when one would poop, a man dressed as a referee would drop a yellow flag and yell "foul" and pick up the poop. Then it would just be the puppies again. She said it was really cute. Supposedly you can buy it on DVD.
4.
Conar, ye old monster Samoyed, has been mistaken for a Great Pyr. Our liver spotted Dalmatians were always being called Dal/Choc Lab mixes, because "everybody knows that ALL Dalmatians are black spotted."
There was a liver-spotted Dalmation puppy at Petsmart last month, and he was so cute! I had never met a liver-spotted Dal before. Gorgeous! Anyway, people are always asking me what breed Jackie is, but nobody ever makes a guess. She's a mystery to everyone - LOL! My guess is that she's Golden Retriever/German Shepherd/Collie, but nobody really knows. People always assume that Maya is purebred Golden, but she's a Golden/Husky mix.
5. Poor baby! I know you'll take good care of him and nurse him back to the picture of health! Crossing fingers, toes and paws for a quick recovery!
6. Ah, there's just nothing like a puppy! They just make me melt.
7. I don't like to call my girls "mutts" because I just don't like the word. I like to call them Golden-mix girls, because that appears to be the most predominant breed in them. Jackie is a complete guess because she was rescued from the pound. Maya was an owner surrender, and her former owners said she is Golden/Husky. That was an interesting article.
8. I put the citronella collar on Maya when she goes outside at night. I work until midnight, and don't want her barking at that time of the night/morning. With the collar on, she never barks. I pretty much let her bark outside during the day since most of my neighbors are gone. Good luck!
9. Rotties are great dogs, but I think most of them don't like cold weather like we have in Minnesota.
10. Sorry I didn't notice this post until today. I voted for Jake!
11. I never give Jackie and Maya any of my food. They eat good quality dry food and good quality treats.
12. I'm so happy for you! I can't wait to see the pictures of your baby!
13. Maya doesn't fart any more that any other dog, it's just that when she does it I always seem to be towards her butt.
14. LOL, don't you just love it when dogs fart and then leave the room? Stinky little brats! LOL
15. I feed Jackie and Maya at 11:00 a.m. and shortly after midnight (after I get home from work). Maya will eat anything, any time. But Jackie isn't always hungry at dinner time, and I can't just leave her food or Maya would eat it. So I smoosh a piece of turkey around on the bottom of Jackie bowl and put her dry dog food on top of that. That way she smells the turkey (which she LOVES), and eats all her food when I give it to her and licks her bowl clean.
16. Maya is making it real hard for me to concentrate while I'm on the computer tonight. She's lying on the futon next to me, with her butt facing me, and she's let loose a couple of SPDs (silent but deadly farts) from about 2 feet away from me. Next time I'll have to get her to face her lethal weapon away from me when she sleeps on the futon when I'm on the computer! It's the same thing with horses. If you're picking out their back feet or brushing their tail, POOF! Never fails! If you're at their front end, they hold it in until you get to their hindquarters! LOL! It's a conspiracy among all animal species!
17. Yay! Clea is home! I'm so happy for you! Now we need lots more pictures! Especially with her new best friend, Rowie! Congratulations!
18. I know DAL has a deaf dog, but it sounds like several others have deaf dogs also. I just noticed Gigishiba has a deaf dog too. I'm just interested in what it's like having a deaf dog. Do you teach them hand signals? How do you get their attention if they're not looking at you? Do their other senses seem stronger? Inquiring minds want to know!
19. I tried an electronic collar on Maya when she first started jumping the fence, and for barking. It didn't help for either problem, and I think it just pissed her off more than anything. I personally wouldn't use it again on any dog. I don't like the idea of them. For Maya's barking I got a citronella spray collar that works great (and it smells good too!). For the fence jumping I cable her when she's in the back yard. Good luck!
20. Jackie was giving me "the look" last night, with her squeaky squirrel to keep her company. 21. I'm so sorry to hear about the news on Haley. Hopefully when they do a biopsy it will be benign. Sending good wishes down there!
22. There's a beautiful leather recliner that I'm in love with that would match my futon just perfectly. But how does leather stand up to dogs? Jackie and Maya are allowed on all the furniture. They don't ever claw at the furniture, just climb up there and take a nap. My sister-in-law said that leather is great for dogs, but other people say no. What do you think?
23. Goldens are definitely lap dogs!
24.
Mine too. Zeke will stick his nose under my right forearm - my mouse hand - and nudge up repeatedly.
Jackie does the nose under the mouse hand too. If Maya comes back to the computer, she goes underneath my feet. Goofy girls!
