3. Sydney goes nuts in the rain! The other week, when we had downpours non-stop, I took her out on leash to go for a quick walk, and she was jumpking and hoping to run, so I took her to the tennis courts to let her run off leash, and she bolted around the courts! I couldn't catch her! I spent 10 minutes in the pouring rain chasing her, sure it was fun for her, but not me!
4. The mosquitos are out in full force allready, and they're attacking Sydney and I! She's going to the vet Monday for exam/DHLPP shot/bloodwork/heartworm test & preventative, and she's already on Fronline Plus, but what can I use to just keep those nasty little mosquitos from hovering around her? What's safe to use with Frontline Plus?
5. I wouldn't. Clones and the idea of it creep me out :o
6. why are people so stupid? This is a question I ask myself everyday, unfortunately  I would of done the same thing you did
7.
the pound here has a "spay/neuter contract" but they never inforce it
That's nuts! How can they expect to keep animals out of shelters without altering the ones they adopt out?
8. I had a dog come in for grooming the other day, it was a small min pin mix, and the owner had shaved the dog's name on both sides of the dog :o And the dog's name? it was "Hey" :-?

UNHAPPY!!!
clickers are not allowed in the UK at shows - you could put the dog next to you off do you use bait? my little girl free stands but she knows I have a tip-bit in my hand ready for her keep at it - go out to enjoy your day
You don't bring the clicker in the ring with you, it's just for training and shaping for the behavior you want before you show.
12. So I take Sydney out to go to the bathroom this morning (on leash), and I see this guy standing buy some trees ahead of us. I realize its the guy with a yellow lab that I've NEVER seen on a leash. I've allready had an encounter with this guy and his dog, in which the dog came running up to Sydney and she did not like that, as she was growling very loudly at the dog, and Im trying to keep her from biting the Lab. The Lab is such a goofy dumb type of dog, it doesnt get the clue to back off. Now this morning was the SECOND time! I see him standing there, but i just keep walking with Sydney's leash short. I'm almost kinda wanting his dog to get hurt a little, and maybe he'll learn his leason. So of course, the Lab comes running up and Sydney's growling, and im keeping the lab back with my leg. And the guy comes up, "I'm sorry, I usually put a leash on her when I walk her, but not when she's just going to the bathroom." (He said this same thing to me the first time!) I said, "I'd really appreciate it if you put your dog on a leash, it's YOUR dog thats going to get bit, and I don't want your dog to get hurt." So he says, "Oh, yes, I understand, I'll put a leash on her from now on" So we'll see, If this happens one more time, I'm really going to go off on this guy!

UNHAPPY!!!

have you considered clicker training? It's becoming quite popular in training show dogs, and it's all positive reinforcement and the dog learns by correcting itself, which is great for dogs who are sensitive to verbal correction. check out this article: http://nipissingkennelclub.com/showtrain1.htm
14. i agree with the crate training. If you really don't want to use the crate, what about keeping them confined to a small area in the house with a pet gate? Like the kitchen or where there is nothing for them to get to?
15. Happens to me a lot, too. Sydney usually doesn't like other females, so when an off-leash female dog comes running up to us and I tell the owner to get their dog because mine does not like females, they go "Oh, it's OK, my dog's friendly!"
16. People really can be stupid  I take Sydney to as many places as I can, and she's come a long way, but she gets nervous when strangers just run up to her, which they try to do all the time. I can sense whether the person is going to listen to me if I tell them to go slow with her and not just stick your hand on the dog, so I just walk Sydney away from those people. And the people that I can tell will listen, I just tell them she's shy and to let her smell them first. Although, one time, in Petco, I walk in the store at a steady pace, and all of a sudden this little kid, is literally chasing Sydney and I, trying to grab her tail and back end! And where's the mother? Over looking at fish and not even noticing that her child is chasing strange dogs  I was almost to the back end of the store until the lady finally realized her kid ran off. IDIOT
17. I'm at $57!!!! :banan:
18. That's great! I'm doing something very similar here in Mass. It's a Pet Walk for the Humane Coalition for Animals, and it's on Sunday May 15th. So far, I've raised $42 in donations. Good Luck! :D
19. Sydney-as in the city in Australia, because her registered name is Erin 'N Shamrock's Southern Hemisphere, and Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere. She came with the name and I like it :D
20. ha ha, a cow  She doesn't need an udder, her nipples are allready big because she's had 2 litters
21. I thought of that automatically, but I think it's too expected, ya know? One idea I have is a biker chick :ylsuper:
22.
I dont know how many of you have experience handling very coddled toy breeds, but the screaming and throwing themselves around show is a very, very common evasive manuver. You are definitely right, that training should be fun. I was a little disapointed that the trainer wasnt using any bait to motivate the dog, but I dont think that that dog was being hurt in that instance. Often times you have to let the dogs throw their mini-fit, give them no feedback, and when they are finished just continue on. Once they realize that it doesnt work it goes away. But they are definitely betting on that startle factor of you're hurting me! you're hurting me! to escape from whatever it is you want them to do. I worked with an IG once whose owner had let her get away with such behavior because she felt terrible everytime the dog screamed. She effectively created a dog who screamed anytime you wanted it to do anything - even be pet when it didnt want to be, put its leash on, ANYTHING.
I agree, sometimes, if theres a dog that I have to cut the nails on, and they absolutley hate it, the best thing to do is let them scream and struggle first for a few seconds while you hold there leg until they get it all out of their system, then they just let me clip my nails like it's nothing!
