Baileysmom how are the puppies?! I don't know about anyone else but I couldn't get on Dogo last night. Saw the title on the post and I was hoping it wasn't your puppies (not that I was hoping it was anyone elses either but...you know what I mean.) Sending good thoughts for you and the little three....

WOW what an ordeal. I'm glad it turned out OK ... considering they could see some of the medication in the vomit much of it might not have been absorbed yet ... quick getting to the vet may have saved your dog's life. Good luck with the charcoal stain :o

They list about 15 countries. TDG posted the link where you can enter either your zip code or coutry and find the retailers. I tried Germany as a test and found 2. I don't know if they ship direct.

I got my EVO today and Buddy LOVES it. With the regular Innova (green bag) he treated it as any dog usually treats kibble "... ho hum, oh that ... I'll eat it later ... aren't you going to give me something better first?" But with the EVO, he goes for it like it was canned food! I am so happpppy. Must admit it was a little sticker shock (though I was expecting it to be pricey...) But now I probably won't have to supplement with the canned (I was giving anout 1/3 can Innova can per day just to make suppertime seem "special") ... For me I can do it ... if I had a human child my financial priorities might prevent it though. THANK you TDG (and Dogo!) becaue I would not even have heard of it if it weren't for you.

Euthanization question??? the dog left behind.
BuddysMom replied to imported_Matty's topic in Everything about dogs
I don't know the answer, but it seems to me it would be best if the other dog could see his companion gone. I was JUST thinking about this about 1 hour ago, because my mom will probably need to have her older dog PTS within the week and is planning to have the vet come to her home ... I was thinking it would be a good idea to let Rebel see Teddy's body after he has gone to the bridge ... then Rebel could understand Teddy's absence. I am really interested to see what others think about this issue! -
Be brave little Tigger, you'll be all better soon.

This is a wonderful site. Easy to navigate and very clean!! A suggested edit, from your Welcome page, instead of: Hi, my name is Kat Nicholl and I am a 23-year-old female originally from Northern Ireland but now living in Groningen with my partner How about simply: Hi, my name is Kat Nicholl. I am originally from Northern Ireland and now living in Groningen.

Ooooh, now I remember something that happened to my Dad many years ago on a very cold Michigan night ... He went to pick up a pizza and brought our 2 year old Golden mix in the car, decided to leave the car running for Beige to stay warm, picked up the pizza, set it in the car and decided to run back and get some cokes ... came back to discover he'd LOCKED the car (with it running) and Beige was eating the pizza, all toasty warm inside, while Dad was freezing and yelling NO! NO! to no avail. The locksmith came, another pizza was gotten for the humans and amazingly Beige didn't get sick (although she always was a chunky gal after that). -
d you ever find out what She-Ra's real name is ?
Uh Debbie, read back, her name is Moody ... Mutts4 did the dog or owners show any affection for each other? It would make me feel better if you sensed they had even a shred of happiness at getting their dog back! -

Is it at all possible this dog is blind? -

YOW that is so weird and horrific to contemplate a "WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION" in the form of a dog?! A creepy yet interesting (?!) thought. When I think of dogs used in WWII I immediately think of GSD (German (!) yet fighting on U.S. side...) Correct me if anyone knows otherwise but weren't they best used as messengers, not for attacking? Of course a dog WMD would have to be loyal to some people and vicious to others (?) This is just so disturbing really.

That's great, the shelter is the best place really! I think his owners will be looking for him there ... if not he is sure to be adopted in a second! They will know what to do. Please keep us posted if you hear? I think many (myself included) have fallen in love with this guy just from the pics!

Here's my 2 cents ... DON't feel gulity ... and DO call (or email) the rescue and get yourself some relief!!

AAP! Lost pup update please!! :D

What a beauty! Someone is looking for him ... you saved his life and probably his owners' broken hearts. Most people would have ignored him.
I guess mixed breed or not is beside the point now. I am a great dog owner and am better informed to make a more responsible decision in the future. At this point that is by far the most important thing.
Absolutely! My point has been all along, you did nothing wrong, you are a great dog owner and you have yourself a fine little puppy. Good luck with the therarpy training and by the way a big "Howdy, neighbor!" from Grand Junction.

If all else fails you may consider putting a "free to a good home" ad for the chi and making sure whoever takes her knows she will have to be the only dog in the household. It just seems like you have enough to deal with as is without this ...
-
Well, we are not sure what the breeder's motivation was in this case. To me it sounded like it could easily be a one time "oh my dog and my daughter's dog are so great let's make some puppies" ... ignorant, yes .. but they are not necessarily puppy millers. They may have charged $50 or so just to recoup vet bills. We don't know.
This post isn't about buying from a reputable breeder vs. adopting, so I dont know how that got thrown in here.
Well ... it is about buying instead of adopting, that is what she felt bad about ... I sure wasn't trying to change the subject of the post!

HURRAY! Great news. All the other states and Canada have to consider this now, this is BIG time!

Well I respectfully disagree with much of Seij's post above, I did want to reiterate to this poster that I do not feel you are an irresponsible dog owner in the least. Nor did you "kill" a shelter dog because you bought your pup. There are lots af really good people here who have bought their dogs. Many have bought and adopted dogs. What is most important is thay you love and take care of your dog. It sounds like you are a very good owner. Maybe if the time comes and you want another dog you will find the right one in a shelter ... or maybe not. You are fine. (The ones you got your pup from, on the other hand ...   in my opinion ...)
