Well it is a very intrigeuing question but mind boggling! I will have to think about it but will try, thanks for the encouragement. It is very interesting that as you point out, we tend to be afraid of little creatures (spiders, mice, etc.) a possible explanation is that these creatures are usually of species more alien (less genetically like humans) than dogs which of course are very much genetically and socially like humans. I guess that's why it's so hard to wrap my mind around anyone being so deathly afraid of dogs. Did your former boss have a really bad experience with a dog as a child, do you know?
So thank you, CSI, for playing into the myth that pit bulls belong to uneducated, uncouth, and downright disgusting people.
Well wouldn't you agree that in some cases this is all too true? I think the myth you are meaning to point to (which I all too recently bought) was that this is MOSTly the case.. as it is not! Unfortunately there are many uncouth and downright disgusting people who favor pit bulls and we should be working to protect these wonderful dogs from those slimebuckets instead of pretending there is no connection.

1. Sorry I didn't catch the first time that this was your former boss not current boss. 2. I don't think you are being "under concerned" (but I don't think anyone else thinks so either...) 3. Sorry I can't really help with the hypothetical question. Just to join you in hoping it all works out OK.

YES!!!! When I read your last post I was thinking what a hopeless/helpless situation ... but then here is Court telling you exactly the right thing to do to regain control of the situation ... it gives the control back to you! And I also agree with Court and DO, you must do this because it's threatening you and your dog now. I would only add or re-emphasize that you need to also keep a record (a little spiral notebook diary) of Kyra's whereabouts and times for the near future.

I agree with everyone else here (and you!) Mutts4Me ... the worst part is, as you said you can't tell them what a horrible idea you (and we all) think it is ... How about some advice reminiscent of Dear Abbey? Could you print out your letter (or maybe the whole thread) and share it with your boss and friend, in a friendly way? I realize the sensitivities and that it may not be possible ... just a suggestion.
How about "Butter". Then when you call your dogs, you can just call "Peanut Butter" and they'll both come
 I have heard of Fluffer Nutter, boy that would make a great name! -
Well I don't know about whether they are pronounced or not and that being a sign, but female dogs who have never given birth definitely have nipples.

Bumping up! And here's a really easy way to locate and contact your Representative: http://www.house.gov/writerep/ I called my Rep's local office today ... the lady who answered was great, looked up the bill with me, took my name and address and said she'd contact him in Washington about it.

So happy to hear this!!!!

They could be very responsible but if one is against the establishment of these new doodle and poo breeds, period, then that precludes not wanting to support those who legitimize them.

To all you dogos in the U.S. please call your House Representative NOW and tell them to vote YES on the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act, H.R. 4264 - It just passed committee and is going to the floor for a vote! This makes dog fighting and cock fighting a felony in all states and is very much needed! More info here: http://www.hsus.org/ace/21590

Oh she's grinning, just so happy to be going HOME!!!! That is beautiful.
Yes, the SCBCA provides pedigree on some of the poo and doodle mixes, but they are not classified as a breed. I particularly don't mind this since this is the very way we got our pure breds of today.
I think the way we got our breeds of today were usually through decades or even centuries of trait enhancement, almost always for a working purpose, not by random crossing for our own amusement and money making. Not trying to be snarkey, just saying as the SCBCA gives credibility to these mixes they must not be very good.

I'm sorry I was also contributing to that fear! Given the ringing endorsements I would use that recipe if needed for sure! Still not sure that I'd use the Borax straight but in this recipe it seems to be tried and true.
