Powiedziałbym więcej, pracownicy robią dla tych zwierzaków więcej niż teoretycznie się od nich wymaga, samo to że te kobiety same zbierają złom żeby zapewnić pieniądze na szczepienia świadczy o nich jak najlepiej. I każdy wyadoptowany pies jest sprawdzany w jakich warunkach żyje.

Das staatliche Tierheim in Piotrków Trybunalski widerspricht allen in den zivilisierten Ländern angenommenen Standarten – es mangelt hier an Geld für Reparaturarbeiten, Behandlung von 250 Schützlingen, Impfungen, Kastrationen, Chipen und viele andere Dinge, die notwendig sind, dass solch eine Einrichtung richtig funktionieren könnte. Die wahre Kraft des Tierheims in Piotrków liegt in seinem Personal: den Angestellten und Volontären, die jeden Tag kämpfen, um die Tiere füttern und behandeln zu können. [/FONT]

Diese Entscheidung wundert umso mehr, als es den Bauplan für neue Zwinger in Piotrków Trybunalski schon seit langem gibt. Diese Pläne sind aber in Schutt und Asche gelegt worden und durch lokale privat-politische Spiele begraben. Die jetzigen Behörden überlegen eine Möglichkeit, die Tiere aus dem Tierheim in Piotrków ins Tierheim in Bełchatów zu bringen. Wie wir aber erfahren haben, sind die Bedingungen dort für Annahme der Tiere in solcher Zahl ungenügend. Die Stadt Piotrków will lieber Geld für Ausbau des Tierheims in Bełchatów und entgeltlichen Fang herrenloser Tiere ausgeben, als das neue Tierheim in Piotrków einrichten. Wir sind gegen solch eine Politik und halten sie für schädliche Tätigkeit sowie Verschwendung von öffentlichen Geldern. [/FONT]

We would like to inform you about the policy on homeless animals that is carried out by your partner city Piotrkow Trybunalski. Homeless and abandoned animal protection is a statutory responsibility of city authorities, and it seems that Piotrkow’s authorities have forgotten about this fact.

Piotrkow animal shelter is the example of a place where no standards are met – it is lacking money for necessary repairs or to cover the costs of treatment, vaccination and sterilization of about 250 dogs that are being kept there

The only advantage of this place are its workers and volunteers who almost everyday fight for food and founds for treatment. Piotrkow authorities decided to compensate their superhuman efforts and devotion by deciding to dispose of the shelter. This decision is very controversial as the building of a new, modern shelter has been planned in Piotrkow for a very long time; moreover there were founds from the city budget, and a new location for this investment. Some local deals and animosities have destroyed those plans

Now Piotrkow authorities are considering the possibility of moving animals to the animal shelter in Belchatow, which, as we were informed, has no conditions to take such a big amount of animals in.

Piotrkow authorities are planning to give funds for extension of the Belchatow shelter, rather than to build a new, modern shelter in Piotrkow. We do not accept such a practice, as we strongly believe that it is highly detrimental , moreover it is a waste of public funds.

The city animal shelter is planned to be closed down in autumn. Until now no steps demonstrating city’s will to resolve the problem were taken. We do not know if the new shelter will be built. What will happen with the animals? Will they be put to sleep, or eliminated as if they were useless things? It does not seem to interest Piotrkow authorities. It is a shame that such a situation takes place in a civilized country, which is a member of the European Union. It is shame that foreign organizations such as German Hundehilfe are more interested in these animals lot than the local authorities are. And it is shame that the city which takes part in “Teraz Polska” competition, is leading such a cruel policy on these homeless animals. Is it an example of a “model policy”, the city authorities are boasting about?

On enclosed photographs you can see the poor conditions that exist in the Piotrkow animal shelter. Those are the city authorities who are responsible for such a dramatic situation. In Poland, there are many smaller cities, with lower incomes that have proper shelters [FONT=&quot], which are not beneath people nor animal dignity. In Piotrkow animal shelter the only, unquestionable value are wonderful people - workers and volunteers, and the animals,often having traumatic experiences, sick, tortured and tormented, that are given there a chance for a normal life. We wanted to make you aware of the fact that you cooperate with those to whom the lot of the animals is absolutely indifferent.[/FONT]


We would be very grateful , if you undertook all possible measures to show Piotrkow authorities that their policy is harmful for everyone – citizens as well as the animals.
