1. Wow I'm so sorry that happened to you and your son! A taller fence might be a good idea but I wouldn't pay for it either. She's the one with the problem, she should pay for it.
2. Wow, you have to be a special kind of stupid to buy a junk bred dog for 4 grand.
3. As long as you aren't doing it every day, don't worry. He'll be fine :-)
4. Hopefully Lucky will continue to live up to his name! Let us know how it goes! :-)
5. If you take this lady on, be aware that there is a good chance you'll end up with this dog as a foster AT LEAST. I think it would be a great thing for the dog though. Her life right now sucks. :-(
6. Maybe he feels insecure in the car. You could try one of those doggie car booster seats. Something like this: I don't know what kind of dog you have but probably he'll grow out of it. You would just use it to get him more comfortable in the car.
7. I took Buck to a pet psychic in February. She was very reputable. Her name is Karen Kittredge and she has lots of degrees and experience communicating with animals. I have to say I was less than impressed. I mainly wanted to know why Buck seems to want to kill some dogs and doesn't care at all about others. Especially since his dog aggression has been getting worse. I never really got a straight answer. I guess the kicker came when I wanted to know why Buck doesn't play with our neighbor dog, Remington anymore. Karen said she would "ask" Remington. Remember that Remington was not in the room, he was at his house. She sat there and concentrated for a bit and said that she spoke to Remington remotely and he said he doesn't know why Buck doesn't want to play but he didn't do anything. She pretty much lost all credibility with me at that point. Although Buck does play with Remington now... Another thing about her that bothered me is she had her Cocker Spaniel in the room with her. She told the dog to lie down in his basket. He kept trying to get up and she physically had to make him lay back down. I guess I would think that a pet psycich would have better control over her own pet. It was interesting but I wouldn't spend another 40 bucks on it.
8. I don't know exactly why she's doing it, but if it were me, I would immediately make her get off the bed when she starts humping. Let her back up after a few minutes but if she humps again, it's right back down on the ground with her! She'll catch on.
9. Unless you have a pretty good relationship with your neighbors, I wouldn't go over there. The reason they called the cops is because for whatever reason, they didn't want to talk to you directly. I wouldn't be surprised if they complained anonymously though. I've called the cops on loud neighbors before (they were fighting very loudly and I was not about to go talk to them personally) and the cops didn't even ask my name once I said I wanted to be anonymous. Good luck with the barking!
10. aww that's too cute! I wonder what they're dreaming about?
11. Were they black before now? I've never heard of a dog's claws turning colors but I don't know much about that. I hope Gladis feels better soon! Let us know how it goes
12.  It's funny that your dad took him to play with the "gentle" dogs! I'm sure those labs were pretty shocked when he peed on them!
13. Sorry to hear about Laurel's eyes. :-( It'll probably be harder on you than her though. It would be nice if Free starts helping her out a bit though. Maybe she will since she's the one that noticed the problem! And yeah that vet sucks!
14.
NO dont bathe her yet. talcum sticks like glue when its wet. brush it out dry first, then bathe here, or you will have a nightmare getting it out...
hmmm... maybe this is where we went wrong with the flour   Sounds like good advice to me.
15. You're going to have to bathe her. A lot. When I was young I dressed up as Little Bo Peep for Halloween and made our Standard Poodle my sheep. My neighbor thought a white sheep would be more convincing than black so she covered Kody in flour. It wasn't easy to get out and definately required a full bath. You might as well use shampoo while you're at it. BTW, the flour didn't work either. It gave me a grey sheep.
16. Wow that really sucks JM :-( Don't you get 3 months of free pet insurance when you adopt a dog usually? I know dogs on Petfinder are supposed to be covered... It might be something to check into. Scott got it when he adopted his cat. If you did the surgery now, could your vet take payments?
17. When he nips is it because he's getting too excited? I would say "no", redirect him to a toy and calm down the activity level a bit. You can start feeding him in his crate. Put the food in there and let him eat with the door open. Also give him things he likes when he's in the crate. A stuffed kong or a nice juicy bone. Require that he only eat them when he's in the crate. I would also make the crate a nice comfortable place for him. Does he have a blanket in there? If it's a wire crate try putting a blanket over it so he can't see through the sides.
18. Jill you are taking a lot of license with this information.
"A dog that in the opinion of the judge menaces or threatens him/her, or exhibits any sign that it may not be safely approached or examined by the judge in the normal manner, shall be excused from the ring." makes you wonder, after all that champion breeding and training this is still included in the Rottweiler page of the American Kennel Club :x
You can't just assume that because this is listed on the website that all Rottweiler's tend to be human aggressive. They are a guarding breed and definately can bite (as can all breeds) but nowhere in the information that you posted does it say they are human aggressive. I'm sure the AKC would not be happy with you taking this information and twisting it to mean whatever you want. You did the same thing with the Lhasa Apso information but sort of corrected it. Overall you are interpreting this information to mean what you want it to and are grossly misrepresenting your sources. Although you should be crediting all of them, it's probably a good thing you're not because they wouldn't be very happy after seeing what you've done. I think a better idea for your site would be to go to all the breed clubs and ask them for the information you want and then post exactly what they said. You do not know enough about any of these breeds to be taking the license that you are.
19. Hopefully that will be the last piece of furniture to be destroyed by Pooh Bear! It sounds like he's doing very well though. It's a great sign that he stops when he's told no! :)
20. That's awesome! I'm sure he loves it! I'm thinking about doing this with Buck. I think it's great exercise and a lot of fun. :-) There are no off leash areas around here though so I need to buy a springer. We would be doing it in the city anyway. We don't have good mountain bike trails.
21. I'm not sure what to say. It sounds like you've tried a lot of positive reinforcement. The vet seems like the best next step. I hope everything turns out OK!
22. I hope Pooh Bear is OK! Let us know how it turns out
23. This is not the first time this person has posted a thread very similar to this one. Check out this link. I'm Having Major Problems She still won't spay or neuter any of her dogs and is STILL breeding these dogs on purpose. I wouldn't waste too much time trying to help this person.
24. I guess we'll just have to check back and see if you've taken any of our advice. :-?
25. Well you can search petfinder.com to look for a mutt looking similar to your other dog. I doubt you'll find another dog like the one you're talking about though. Even if you find a similar mix of breeds, it's not really fair to expect a new dog to live up to the memory of your old one. Sometimes there is just no replacing someone so special. :(
