Lucky Chaos

A 12-year-old boy was attacked by two dogs just before noon Saturday after he climbed into a fenced-in yard in the Sleepy Hollow subdivision to retrieve a ball, Campbell County Sheriff Bill Pownall said. The boy, whose name was not released, was initially approached by the black and white Great Dane and a brown Labrador retriever mix in what appeared to be a friendly manner, but things quickly turned ugly and the dogs started attacking him. The boy was knocked down, then curled into a fetal position and began to scream, Pownall said, at which point a neighbor heard him and arrived on the scene. The neighbor fended off the dogs with a stick until law enforcement officers arrived, at which point the animals were contained. The boy was taken to Campbell County Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for bites to his neck, arms and the back of his head, Pownall said. None of the injuries were serious, and both dogs were current on all of their shots. The dogs' owners weren't home at the time, and were contacted after the incident. The owners will most likely take action against the animals, which are quarantined, Pownall said. By The News-Record staff :roll: Climbing into a yard with strange dogs - smart.

Its not too serious, he has a cyst growing under his eyelid and they don't want it to get any larger. But I'm so scared, I've never had a dog need surgery for anything other then neutering. He goes in on Monday. :(

Possibly the worst dogs are shown...genetic problems etc. If you want to know about breeding take a 3 year course in genetics and find out what its all about....you'd be surprised. People who breed purebreds don't know what they are doing and are ruining dogs. :evil:[/quote] I'm not a show person,but I think that dogs should have to be shown in order to be bred. I would also like it if they had to prove themselves in another way, like doing what they were bred for (like making sure a border collie can still herd before its bred). So ALL purebred breeders are ruining dogs? Explain to me how that is so. :lol: I assume you breed mutts? Well maybe at one time all dogs came from mixed breeds, but now all mixed breeds come from purebreds do they not?

No way! You take excellent care of your dogs, you just happen to have a few more then the average person. I always thought of a hoarder in the same way as you, with 20 dogs or more, never getting individual attention, no vet care, usually not even fed properly and living in a digusting environment. If YOUR a hoarder then I wanna be one too, surrounded by many loved and well taken care of dogs.

And I don't mean study when she's pregnant, most breeders study about breeding, and their dogs pedigree and the sire's pedigree for a year or more. Responsible breeders never just throw two dogs together. Don't become a back yard breeder, if you really must breed do it RIGHT.

Poor guy, but I wouldn't be too worried. Dogs like this often get adopted pretty quickly because people feel sorry for them. I'm sure the right home will come along soon. :D

How far would this person be willing to look? I know about 3 pugs and can get the breeder's contact for you but I'm in Ontario...
