1.
*sigh* You guys just won't see. You see only your own side, and your own opinions. I take the time in life to look at things from both sides of the fence, I wish everyone else could do the same. I am tired, tired of this discussion, and people in general. I will be taking a break from the forum, I have tried my best to "live" among people so adamently against my companion animals, but I see that I can no longer do that. I wish everyone the best in the times to come, and for those who think it cruel that I keep wild animals as "pets," don't worry, I won't be able to for too much longer... ~Seij
From the pages and pages and pages of this thread, it looks like you're the one who is only seeing one side of this story. I'm sorry you feel you have to leave the forum over this. I'm very tired of this discussion too but I'm not leaving over it.
2. HF, now that's funny! I have a door bell, but people usually knock on the door instead of ring the bell.
3. Pooh Bear and Maya are such retards! Every single time there's a door bell sound on t.v. they both go running upstairs barking at the front door. Every single time! Jackie doesn't do a thing. It just cracks me up!
4. Welcome to Dogo! The picture wouldn't show up for me. All I got was the X.
5. Welcome to Dogo! And a big congratulations and thank you for going to the shelter and rescuing Duke! He sounds like a real cutie, so be sure to post pictures of Duke and the rest of your furbabies! Another happy ending! YAY!
6.

The way I see things, people who oppose wild animal ownership yet support domestic animal ownership, are hypocrites.
This is total BS! Honestly, if you cant see a difference in a domesticated animal and a wild animal there is something wrong. It seems, seij, you think people should look at wild animals in the same light they look at domestic animals. Im sorry, but I think fear is going to strike the hearts of people much more if there is a loose tiger, wolf, etc than if there is a dog running loose. And rightly so! there is a huge difference and if you cant see that.... :-?
You might as well give up on this argument. The wild animal owners are never going to get it.
7. Pooh Bear will eat anything, whether it's edible or not (see my "matching set" thread-LOL). I haven't found anything yet that he won't eat that I've offered him. Maya will eat most things. I gave them each a green bean the other day, and Jackie just dropped hers on the floor and didn't touch it again. Maya dropped hers on the floor, and when Pooh Bear went over to get it Maya picked it up because she didn't want him to have it. She did eventually finish it. Jackie is a little fussy about what she eats (of course, she's a princess!). She likes most veggies, but not green beans. And she won't eat the glucosamine tablets that Pooh Bear and Maya gobble up.
8. Welcome to Dogo and ditto to what the others said.
9. Oh man, there's nothing like that look that you get when you leave with suitcases and the dogs know you're not coming back for a while. My dogs have killer sad eyes. Hopefully Rerun will have fun at home.
10. I do believe that animals can have a sense of humor. All three of my dogs can be so comical, and if I laugh, they do it more. And in my family, everyone had a great sense of humor. Sometimes we laughed at things nobody outside of our family would think was funny, but we thought it was hysterical. As far as I'm concerned, you just can't get through life without a sense of humor!
11. Oh, I wish I lived there! I would go for sure. I think it would be a little far to go from Minnesota for a dog walk though. Have fun and take pictures!
12. Here are my matching chewed up leather recliners with the guilty party posing on them! Jackie is in her favorite recliner next to Pooh Bear.
13. I have two off-white leather recliners that I inherited from my parents. Well, Pooh Bear chewed a big hole in the right arm on the recliner that was downstairs shortly after I got him. And tonight when I got home, I saw that he had chewed a big hole in the left arm of the recliner that was upstairs. I certainly won't be buying any new furniture until (and if) the chewing stage is over. He sure is lucky he's so darn cute!
14. I'm SOOO happy for you and Baxter! Don't stay away too long because we NEED to see pictures of Baxter at his new home! I'm so excited for you!
15. la la la la la dum de dum :B-fly: :drinking:
16. There's no getting through the thick skulls of the "wild animals can be pets" people. Why do we even bother trying? We might as well be debating with PETA on ... well anything! :wallbash: They keep coming up with the same lame lines over and over and over and over and over and over again. and over again.
17. Millie, I appreciate the fact that you have what appears to be a sanctuary where WILD animals who have been discarded can live out their lives. But the fact that you say they aren't wild really disappoints me. And the fact that you say that the big cats can be kept as pets really disappoints me. Any PROFESSIONAL wild/exotic animal handler will tell you that they are wild animals and will ALWAYS be wild animals.
18. I'm glad your kids are getting better! My dogs get the bordatella shot every year too.
19. Wild animals should stay wild. Period. I can't think of one good reason (and Sejun hasn't given one yet) why wolves should be bred and/or kept as pets. "Because people like them" is definitely NOT a valid reason. Wolves are wild and should not be kept as pets. With all the millions of unwanted dogs in shelters, you feel you need to breed wolves and wolf/dog hybrids because you like them? I'm sorry, but all the arguing and bullshit "facts" you put out there are never going to change my mind on this, nor most of the other people on this forum. Wolves are wild. Wolves should stay wild. The end.
20.
JM...I'm getting worried about your bra smoking. How many a day are you up to now?
I smoke one bra a day, but they're pretty big.
21. Stop it! I'm going to go out and smoke my bra and pretend that I didn't see that perfect dog who would go perfectly with my other dogs. Wait, who said that? :o
22. You know, ever since I read this, I can't get that damn song out of my head! LOL I can just picture your dogs going nuts over a song. That sounds like a Kodak moment for sure!
23. My puppers like to supervise when I'm exercising. I was just on the Tony Little Gazelle, and Pooh Bear was watching from the futon with his tail wagging like crazy, and moving his head back and forth for each foot that went forward. Then he came down on the floor and was trying to do the same thing. But he kept getting his head in the way so he had to go back on the futon. When Maya watches me, she barks out orders-LOL! When I'm on the Gazelle, she barks each time my foot goes forward. And when I'm on the exercise bike it's just hysterical! She growls each time my foot pedals around, and the faster I go the faster she growls. It sounds like she's making the sound effects for the bike. Jackie just watches in silence. But she goes out to the barn with me and watches me ride Jerry.
24. You know, if I didn't have a horse who is going to be taking up a lot of my time, and only had the dogs, I could see getting another dog. But I'm going to be competing in horse shows starting next year, and there's just no way I could justify having four dogs AND a horse AND a full-time job. If I was independently wealthy, well, maybe it would be different. LOL
25. LMAO Star Gaze. That's the ticket; I'll get all matching dogs and never let them all out at the same time!
