1.
NO, I didn't think you were too old (I don't know that you'll be the oldest person there) ...
That distinction probably belongs to me! :drinking:
2. At the rescue I got my three kids from, they have THREE, count 'em, THREE Landseer puppies up for adoption! There's 2 girls and a boy, and they're all 5 months old. And they have the biggest adoption fee I've ever seen at this shelter: $500 a piece. The two girls have been together their whole life, so they would prefer that they get adopted out together. If I didn't have any dogs, I would get the two girls. There's no way I can get one, but WOW! Some day ... The boy: Kyber: http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=5366530&adTarget=&SessionID=43783faf3b621eda-app3&display=&preview=1&row=0&tmpl=&stat= The girls: http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=5375707&adTarget=&SessionID=43783faf3b621eda-app3&display=&preview=1&row=0&tmpl=&stat= Nixie and Elsa
3. That would drive me nuts too. I've been working real hard on the barking training with my dogs, and they're being great (and they NEVER did it continuously). But people who don't even do anything when their dogs bark continuously is just plain bad dog ownership. Have you talked to them about their dog? If you have a good relationship with your neighbor you might want to talk to them before you make a call on them.
4. And with a snap of K's fingers, poof... she's gone. :klacz:
5. Court, I totally missed the thread where Ford was missing! I'm so glad that he's home and safe. What a relief!
6. I taught Jackie how to play dead by pointing at her and saying "Bang." But it takes a while for her to die. I usually have to shoot her a few times. I wish I could teach them to shake their body on cue. Maya always likes to wait until she's inside before she shakes off.
7. This is the first time I've ever seen a Crested at the rescue I got my kids from. 8. I used to have a chunky little Appaloosa gelding who had a big head, and one time at the State Fair someone asked me if he was an Arabian. For non-horse people, that would be like comparing a Lab to an Afgan. LOL
9.
I think they should bring hunters, sheep farmers, police, and military in to judge the dogs at dog shows. I firmly, and have ALWAYS believed that a show dog should NOT win unless it could do what it was bred for. originally. I think if that was a given, there would be less devotion to pomp and circumstance, looks, all that crap, and more attention given to the dogs ability to do its job, and be beautiful at the same time.
I'm sure it'll never happen, but wouldn't it be wonderful if it did?
10. Ohoh, Court said the "oodle" word! :o :nono:
11.
Someone said Baxter looked like a ^%&^@^ Labradoodle...
:shocked!:
12. Clueless is older than dirt; I'm older than air! I'm 49!
13. Oh, and Maya is terrified of the garden hose. I think that her former owners used to turn the hose on her to shut her up.
14. One time, shortly after I got Jackie, my sister and I were going to watch "Jurassic Park." I put the tape in, and I turned the volume way up because I thought the volume had been turned down. Well, the first sound was a REAL loud impact tremor, and Jackie, who had been lying down, leapt up in the air. Poor girl. I didn't mean to scare her, but it was funny.
15. Great pictures! Like BK said, you're very photogenic! Cute costumes too!
16. Awww, what a sweet-looking girl. I hope she's safe and sound and happy. One of my favorite dogs was named Trouble!
17. That's so cute! One time my sister-in-law gave Jackie a stuffed bunny. Jackie immediately ripped off the ears and the tail, and THEN it was her baby. She would sleep with it, she would clean it, she just loved it! Jackie loves stuffed toys, but Maya and Pooh Bear destroy them, so Jackie doesn't get to have stuffed toys any more.
18. Happy Anniversary! Give your beautiful girl a hug for me!
19. All I can say is that I'm sure glad Pooh Bear is with me, because there probably aren't too many people who would put up with the chewing stage he's going through. But when he cuddles up to me and gives me puppy kisses, I think how could anyone have given him up? I'm the type of person who, when something bad happens (like chewing up my furniture), after it's over, it's over. Then I can laugh about it. If I catch Pooh Bear chewing on anything, I stop him right away, but when I'm at work is when he does his handiwork. Giving Pooh Bear a loving, permanent home is more important than furniture to me. Yeah, I wish he hadn't done it, but it's all old anyway. Jackie is the perfect girl, and Maya and Pooh Bear are my problem children, but I love 'em all!
20. Why would they just switch the letters around? With Internet lingo rn't u sposd 2 make wrds shorter?
21.
Actually I take that back, what kind of a retard would spam a dog lovers board with pr0n? Tis guy needs to hire a new advertising firm.
Ooooh, I love prons. They're so yummy! But in MN we spell it prawn LOL
