I too think it is a natural instinct. Daisy has been on a "regular" diet (kibble) and now is on a raw diet, and has chased small animals during both periods. She has actually eaten a small bunnie, and that I think was before the raw started

Oooh, they should be beautiful puppies!!! Hope everything goes just fine and we see lots of pictures!!

You sit the dog down along side your feet. Then slowly take a baby step or two. When the dog starts to get past your feet (ahead of you) you tell it heel. Hold the leash very short at first. Progress slowly to a few more steps at a time.... and so on.

Oh gosh! Poor bird. ...but what a hunter  Chelsea chases anything that comes into the yard too! Yesterday at the dog park, she was swimming in circles trying to catch the ducks in the lake. They would swim out and she would get tired and turn around, and then they would turn around, and she would notice them and turn back around..... tjhat went on until she was completely out of breath!!

I took this from an e-mail I got today: Pet overpopulation is a heart-breaking problem: There are 45 cats and dogs for every one person born. Only one out of 10 dogs born ever find a permanent home. Only one out of 12 cats born ever find a permanent home. 450 dogs and cats are destroyed each HOUR in the U.S. because there are not enough homes for them! During our Round Up / Spay Today 2003 Fundraiser, when you shop at PETCO you can save more than just money! Each time you make a purchase, we'll ask you to Round Up your purchase to the next highest dollar - and we will donate that difference to the PETCO Foundation. What seems like pennies to you will greatly reduce pet overpopulation! When you Round Up, your money goes to support funding for spay and neuter programs and animal shelters. Won't you help us support them? Have your pets spayed and neutered, and donate generously to the PETCO Foundation's Round Up/Spay Today 2003 Fundraiser whenever you are in a PETCO store. Or, visit PETCO.com today and make an online donation to the PETCO Foundation. (It is not currently possible to "Round Up" purchases online.)

Ours is pretty big too. But you know, I figure if someone wants to get in, they will get in. With three dogs in the house, I wish them luck!! The one who I would be afraid of is Chelsea!!! She is our best watch dog :D

Yes, me too. It has been raining a lot here in Pennsylvania!!! I'm taking off tomorrow, and hope it is nice. I'm think I'll take the dogs to this other dog park I discovered in Delaware. It has a place where they can swim too.

I just think your dog was just the conversation starter. Since I got Jake, my neighbors have been coming out of the woodwork, where before they had never talked to me.
