1. I had heard that Pointsettias (sp) are also poisonous. :o
2. Wow, the poo worked for us. Don't bury it too deep. That's the trick.

4. I am having such a hard time with this  Espeically after reading everyone's replies. I know she is in some pain, but to what extent, I do not know... She is only just beginning to become incontinent, but can't tell for sure because my other dog, Daisy is sick (but pretty sure it was Trixie... just don't want it to be). She is still eating and seems pretty happy at times, but mostly just lays around and sleeps. We got Daisy because we thought Trixie wouldn't last forever, and thought it would be easier on my children to have another at the time.... but Daisy has kept Trixie young. I have told myself that it will be after the holidays, I don't ever give the "girls" table food, except for the holidays, and they love it and look forward to it. So, Trixie has had her Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner, and she will enjoy a Christmas feast too.... and then we shall see
5. I have two dogs, Daisy our 3-yr old lab, and Trixie, a sheltie/shepard mix who is 16 1/2 yrs old. Trixie is going blind, is deaf and has a leg injury (which after medication, she is dealing with), has trouble with the steps and getting up and down from a sitting and lying position. I don't know if we should put her down :( She is such a good dog. We love her dearly, but wonder if it would be better for her? Also, I am very concerned about Daisy... How will this effect her? Is there anything we can do to help her get over the death if we do put Trixie down? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
6. Daisy did not have Giardia, but it was one of the things our vet checked for in her blood sample. I will mention the other things. I really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks
7. Yes, she was tested for Giardia, because I had someone else ask me about that and did check with our vet.
8. We have had her checked for many things. She has had blood work done and my vet really can't pinpoint it. Daisy will obey the "drop" command. The problem is when we don't see her eating the objects. We try to clean the yard, the problems is when they are out together and in cold weather. Thanks :D for your response.
9. I don't think I can help you with your study, But... my dog may have this but I know for sure she is not innerbread. I just posted a note about her. It is listed under digestive problems. If this sounds like the same symptoms, please contact me. Thanks and Good luck! :fadein:
10. My 3-year old lab still likes to eat socks and any other thing she can find. But, it seems that the older she gets, the more problems she has with her bowels. She seems to get into a cycle where she will eat something and then it irritates her bowels and she gets bloody stools and real problems. She almost died from this until the vet could find the proper meds. She is on EN food all the time and we sprinkle it with Prozyme and when she starts again, we give her sulfasalazine and endosorb for the diarrhea. We have tried many things the sulfasalazine is the best so far, but the periods that she is sick seem to be getting more frequent. We have another dog, and she tends to eat the BMs from that dog too, which add to her problems. We have put so much money into her and have thought about giving her up because of it, but love her too much. Other than that, she is a wonderful, typical lab. Has anyone had a similar problem with their lab? If so what works for you?
