1. Holy crap, DL!
2. I vote NO ban. Just because it's what she wants. If she wants to leave, she should have the self-restraint to do so, rather than running and crying to her peers (are there any?) about how she was kicked off. She's honestly not bothering me, so I vote NO ban.
3.
Ok guys we better stop fooling around...shes going to PM or email the owners and complain about us :nerwy:
For what? P*ssing her off? Pheh, she's more full of herself than I initially thought. Still, if you get hold of them, tell them I said hello. :)
4.
I would rather be known as condescending and rude and be part of this forum than part of one that won't even let you fart sideways.
And we know how much you love to fart sideways! Yet we love you, anyway! :D
5. Didn't you say you were leaving? If you're so discontent and disgusted and all out of sorts, no matter how emphatically you say you don't care and it means nothing to you, why are you still here? Fine, K is immature, we all suck, and we're going to dog forum h*ll when we die. What do you want? Are you a last word ho? 'Cuz I am, too, and we play a neat "last word" game on another board. Is it your board?
6. I was thinking the same thing as K. *shudder* I may have to kill me, too! :o At first, this person seemed well intentioned, if misguided. Now they just sound like the argumentative jerks they make US out to be. It's getting worse and worse.
7.
I'm not "DISSING" anyone. I'm merely calling it like I see it.
Ooohhhhhhhhhhh.... you're only calling it like you see it. We're just a bunch of argumentative trolls. Gotcha.
I'll be sure to join in the "paint Dogo in a bad light" chorus too. I'll have no problems getting folks to steer clear of this discussion forum.
Oh, please, NO! For the love of all that's holy, PLEASE, anything but that! Everyone knows that the more members we have and retain, the richer we get. K assures me that my "member retention" check is in the mail... Thanks for stopping by and filling our suggestion box. Now while you're harping at us about "moving on...." :) I don't understand what's so difficult. If Dogo is not your flavor, there's no need to berate US about it. Just, you know, "move on."
8. Have fun, Court! Buy us all some nifty souvenirs! :D
9. I've not posted to this thread in, what, 16 pages. Not one single time, though I've read all of it. I didn't really feel the need to post because there isn't too much I can add that hasn't already been said, and I didn't need to beat a dead horse, or join in any choruses. However, this stirred me... the post from the moderator of another forum going on and on and on and on and.... about how "we" run things here. I tell ya what... I'm a member of several other dog/pet boards, and most of them are touchy feely play nice with each other boards. I can respect that because it's THEIR (whoever owns it) boards. The reason Dogo is my "home" board is because of the moderators' willingness to let things run their course, good, bad, or ugly. If this ever becomes one of those fluff n' stuff boards, I won't be here nearly as much because I can get that anywhere. Things have a way of working themselves out. If someone makes an inappropriate remark, someone else will be along to call them on it, whether they are regulars or not. I think there's a perfect balance, and I wouldn't want to see it run any other way. No matter how hot it gets, it always works itself out in the end. We don't need nannies to lock us down and tell us to play nice. The people who can't hack it here can find gazillions of fluff n' stuff boards across the net where everyone's expected to play nice. The fact that you have sent so many people here (whether they could hack it or not) tells me that there must be some great minds and brilliant advice to be had here from training to diet to behavior. If people can't hack the raw truth, or some pretty raw opinions, you're right... this isn't the place for them. Doesn't mean WE should change. It just means they would be better off on one of the gazillion other dog boards out there. I also don't get why being a moderator is supposed to all of a sudden make someone totally devoid of any opinions, or rights to say them. I honestly thing Mei meant well, and did not see her post as confrontational at all. I truly believe she was trying to help, not attack. It isn't her fault if someone misperceives it as an attack. I don't think being a moderator should mean keeping your opinions to yourself. It's kind of ironic that you think the thread should have been locked pages ago, and can tell us what kind of input is acceptable and what should have been done, all while contradicting yourself by doing the very thing which you are complaining about. Also, it might chap my *ss a little to have someone sanctimoniously thumping their chest about how they would run things in a perfect world... "I'm a moderator on another board, and blah blah blah blah..." means about as much to me as "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on tv."
10. Here's hoping they're feeling better. It's kind of interesting, really. A couple of my dogs were sick last week, and one of my best friend's dogs was sick like that. Our dogs did a good bit of puking, but it evolved into diarrhea. It seems to have cleared up, though. Maybe it's just some bug. I swear that when one of my dogs gets sick, the others have a sympathy illness for them. Maybe your guys are doing it, too.
11. Here's what's funny to me (only because I'm weird, probably)... For someone who makes so many excuses about his(?) English being so bad, he sure understood the word "scam" from the first time Jess mentioned it, and started quickly trying to say it ain't so. I would imagine someone with such an obvious language barrier might ask "what do you mean... scam..." Is "scam" a universally recognized word? Seriously, I'm just asking... Not trying to lend credibility to this person (pheh, as if). It just stood out to me that he(?) knew enough to defend it from the first mention of "scam."
12. There will always be crooks that look for the "what ifs." All you can is the best you can with the resources available, and hope it at least slows the whole thing down. Nothing is guaranteed, but if it just slows it down and helps SOME, it's worth it.
13. Not only that, but in the case of cats who are wild or feral or escaped, it would prevent the same cat from being picked up twice and operated on. It's often hard to see a spay scar, but a notch (or tatoo) is plainly visible.
14. My dogs are not that smart. Usually, if one wants a space that another is occupying, they'll either jump up and lay down on them and annoy them into moving, or they'll just build steam, get a running start, and t-bone them out of the way.
15. Pauly has a butt fetish, I swear. He will virtually assault me with his butt to get it rubbed. He swings his whole rear end, usually jumping up and getting a little momentum before plowing into me with it... sort of picture a bucking mule. My desk chair has a wobbly arm on one side from the repeated Pauly butt assaults. :o
16.
You may doubt the unknown person
Indeed.
17. R2, I'm pretty sure it would be a submissive grin. She's about the most submissive dog I know. Very sweet dog, and submissive as all get out. I just think it's cute how she "smiles" and how many people get kind of intimidated by this big ol' grinning Poodle. BK, it's interesting you mentiond Dalmatians. Someone on another board said the same thing. I'd never heard it before, but it must be fairly common then.
18. My little Peanut Poodlet ain't afeared of standing water, either! She'll head straight for it and paddle around in it. This was in my front yard after a heavy rainfall. :o Little doesn't always mean frou frou.
19. Does anyone believe a dog can smile? One of my former fosters (Peyton, a black Standard Poodle) is a bigtime grinner. This dog doesn't have a mean bone in her body, but some people are kind of intimidated when they visit my best friend (who adopted Peyton). She meets and greets everybody with a big smile. My best friend often has a hard time convincing people that it's really ok to come inside. There's nothing at all snarly about her; she just "smiles" a lot. Peyton has to be the least menacing dog I know. Would you be afraid? Does anyone else's dog "smile" like this? 20. Good girl, Kes! Poor Meg... those people truly have the welfare of their dogs at heart, aye? :x
21. Poor Free. :( Given the opportunity, I would do the same thing you did. Hope all comes out well, and Free will be home very soon.
22. Yay for Goo. The worry and the wait is over!
23. From what you describe, she very well could have just really irritated it from scratching at her ears. Now, this certainly is not meant as diagnostic stuff, but a good many of the dogs I see with ear infections often have open sores right behind/under their ears or on their cheeks from scratching at their ears. If it's not already open and weepy, clearing her ears up ought to clear up the sore. Again, that's IF it's just from where she's been scratching, but it's a very real possibility (which, in the grand scheme of things, would be a good thing).
