MajiesMom Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 For the last few days Magic has gone crazy because she can smell something in the corner of the rec room downstairs. There is nothing there! It’s just an empty space where the hardwood floors meet the wall. We just moved here in May so it is a new house to us (but not new). I wish I knew what it was she was going so crazy sniffing over. I guess I’ve been watching too may dog shows where the dog sniffs out, cancer, toxic mold, drugs bombs etc. LOL The area she would be sniffing is underground on the other side. hummm Some days I just wish I could just speak to my dog. :-? courtnek Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 does it have hot water radiant heat? under the floors? he could hear air bubbles in the lines, which you cant. to them it sometimes sounds like an animal under the floors... Quote
Lokipups Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 Whenever I see a dog sniffing and scratching in one particular area in the house (or outside even), I look for an infestation, usually termites. Quote

Could his bed have been in that corner Quote
MajiesMom Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 I did see an ant last week downstairs and there is a little bit of an infestation of ants outside (I think because of the peanees (sp?) flowers - they attract ants.) There is nothing - no signs of anything there now though. Quote
courtnek Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 what about the heat? is it radiant? hot water? (radiators or floor vents) the lines may need to be bled... Quote
MajiesMom Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 No we don't have hot water rads here, we did at our old place. They would squeal once and a while and we had to let the air out but it never really bothered Magic. We have the air conditioning on now it's hot! Quote
