eggrolyn1223 Posted January 18, 2003 Posted January 18, 2003 Ok..I wanted to get Duck microchipped..but since I'll be going back to the states, I have to think about this.If she gets microchipped here, they would have her registered.then when she goes back to the states, will she have to be re-registered?or re-microchipped?Or neither? BTW, Duck is getting spayed tomorrow.I am so scared something bad will happen...my tutor said her peke died because something happened suring the surgery...that was not supposed to.. I know my vet is a lot better than her old one, but still....and one of the people from the dog park said his dog slept for 3 days after he was neutered... :o Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted January 18, 2003 Posted January 18, 2003 will you stop worrying, Duck will be fine. Gladis went early in the day she home in the afternoon, she slept for four hours that evening she wanted to go on a short walk with Paddy. The following day she was her normal self I had a job stopping her from running around after Paddy. A lot of our dogs from dogo have been they have all alright. Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 18, 2003 Author Posted January 18, 2003 well I wouldnt be worrying if I was in america...but ...this is taiwan. They even told me to spay Duck after she has her first heat...no way am i going to listen to that! Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted January 18, 2003 Posted January 18, 2003 that's how it is in the UK dogs are sprayed inbetween the first and second season. Diffierent countries have different ways microchip I think she has to be chipped to fly when you get to Amercia just register the number :D Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 OK...I have got to calm down..Duck is at the vet's right now...I'm so worried!I hope nothing bad happens I'm going crazy!! Quote
Hobbit Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Egger --- there are lots of vets in the US that will not spay a female until after her first heat cycle. The males are neutered after they turn 6 months old. Keep us updated on her spay progress. Good luck. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 It's OK! I know how you feel, but I'm sure she is just fine! Let us know how things go! Quote
DogPaddle Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Duck will be fine. Perhaps beefore you chip Duck just inquire with the company or vet, they'll probably have further info for you about relocating internationally. Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Ok..I just went to the vets and brought her back. She is still a little sleepy...it's 6:10PM already and she just threw up her breakfast..We're going back to the vets tommorow for the shots or something.. :-? Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Yea, she's sleeping on a blanket right now...my mom would kill me :o She thinks Duck can sleep on the floor like dogs did in the old days :roll:And snoring LOUD... Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Ok...now i'm REALLY worried...Duck keeps vomiting..we brought her home at around 5-6 PM and she vomited around 6:30....it was mushed up kibble from her breakfast..then again, around 7:30..and now, 9:20, she's vomited again..and this time it looks like urine! :o Yellow liquid stuff...but a few pieces of mushed kibble floating around in it..(I gave her a little water before that happened)..then I called the vet...he said if she vomited again, to take her in...I probably will..but just to ask you guys..is this normal?Or is something wrong? Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 I am going to kill myself for letting her eat breakfast :x Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Yeah, I probably will. :x Is this gonna lead to any sickness or is she just going to vomit until there's nothing left to vomit? :o Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 No...I'm gonna sleep in the livingroom today, since I don't wanna wake her up.. Quote
Poofy Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Can you get any emmatrol? nausea control??? If so, you could give her some to help with the nausea. I would offer her only sugar water for a while...then if she keeps that down, some boiled rice, in VERY small amounts. Quote
Hobbit Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Egg -- make sure Duck does not dehydrate. That is the main concern now. Offer her water in small amounts, several times -- like every 15 minutes until she stops drinking. Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 It's Monday now.6:00AM.She didn't vomit.She's onna be back to normal soon :D Quote
eggrolyn1223 Posted January 20, 2003 Author Posted January 20, 2003 Ok.She's as active as ever now.. Went for shots again today...have to go tomorrow too.. Quote
