ok, i'm sorry ONLY because it wasn't right...but I really don't want to be sorry......can you follow that??? :D
Yes I follow :P Tru it wasn't right but we are only human. We have been wronged, much worse, a whole bunch of innocent animals have been hurt, and it is only natural that we'd want to gang up "like schoolgirls" and figuratively kick some ass.
I think that email spot on. There is no need for the 99% of us Dogoers to be on that list. Providing them with info on Naomi is one thing, but it's not necessary for us to be privvy to all the info in their database. People like Tammy or Cynthia who are actively involved in rescue are a different story.
Agreed, here was my reply: Hi Maria, I think, given what you told me I should not to be in this group. I am not involved in a rescue that would need to know this info. There is at least one other person on the board (http://forum.dogomania.com) who has applied, for the purpose of listing the individual in question as a Do Not Adopt. She and others on this board may be qualified to be on the list for their involvement in rescue organizations. I appreciate your instructions for approaching this, and will pass this info along. Kind regards, Tonya Martin
I agree with Malamum. All this extraneous stuff is interesting but irrelevant and it's actually quite petty, bitching over someone's looks, morals, etc. I'm certainly no angel when it comes to fidelity and I bet- actually, I know- there are members who haven't been 100% faithful to their partners, and judging by Naomi's PM which I don't really think should have been posted at all (it has no relevance to her PETS, and they're who we are worried about, yes, not who she's shagging?) and is a contravention of the forum "rules", there's at least one of you who's gone out with an ex-crim as well. Come on. Pot kettle black people.
A voice of reason, dang. So true ... I am still gung ho about the do not adop lists but as far as busting on her to Justin etc, that is not right. I bought into it like anyone else, but thanks to prevailing saner minds ...

I was denied from joining the Yahoo "do not adopt list" ... To be honest I don't have time to pursue it now, maybe later next week. Michele I know you applied too, sorry it all gets laid on you, but you are the shit after all ...
Hi, Who are you and are you associated with a rescue group? Membership on this list is pretty much on a need-to-know basis, due to the sensitivity of the information and liability issues. Perhaps you could just send your information and any documentation to the moderators of the list -- -- and we can either post it to the list or just add the name to the database with instructions to contact you if they need detailed information. Thanks for watching out for the critters! ;-) Marla Co-Moderator ------ Original Message ------ > > Hello, > > The following person would like to join the PNWDNA group: > Email address: tmdomurath <> > > Comment from user: > On Dogomania board we have a former member collecting dogs and tossing > them aside. Just want to make sure she's listed.
:P

So as far as the poms go, how many do we know she went through? I remember: Boonie (PTS for HW.... maybe?) Stryker (loved kids too much) Moose (she still has this one?) But there was another, right? Misty? That she traded for Stryker? is that right?
I don't know about Misty. She may have been one of the poms she was thinking of adopting(I wander how long that one would have lasted  ) Michele can you post the link here or is it one of those sites only certain people can see?
the National Do Not Adopt Site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pnwdna/ you have to register
I registered, it's a pain in the rear, now I have to wait to get approval email.

As humans trying to commune with dogs, I think all of us at some point have to work on NOT treating them like human children. We have our own instincts to overcome here. Kat is a case in point, certainly she knows better than anyone not to scold a pup after the fact, but I bet no one can say they never did this (I can't anyway!)

Ooops sorry I didn't clarify. It is contact info for DAK herself, published in a 2004 Auusie Lads newsletter so I'm not sure if it's still valid. Sorry I couldn't find Justin's! Here's where I found it: http://www.aussielads.com/OCT%2004%20LW%20Newsletter.pdf

I may be way behind on this, haven't checked these to see if they are still in working order. Found on an old Aussie newsletter pdf ... Naomi Brownlow Fort Lewis, WA (253) 912-1509 Email: Michele do you want ot do the honors? :evilbat:

We have a local shelter that is a Humane Society but they do everything to hide the fact, calling themselves Roice-Hurst Humane Society, etc ... they do GREAT work even though they are partially HSUS funded. I say don't throw baby out with the bathwater. I suspect that many of the HSUS related shelters are the same, receiving some support from the national org and some from local sources. I would not feel bad about donating to HSUS, though I would think twice about it knowing all this in the future.
I thought that Zoey was Justin's dog to begin with.....before they got together (????)
That was my impression too, from what she said (which is worth dookie, but still...)

Well said everyone ... Michele you are a HERO, you did it babe!
I was thinking that all of us mixed breed dog owners should make up fancy names for our mutts so we could feel all important too. "Yeah, this is a purebreed Beagalab. Very rare. Can you believe I got him at the local shelter? Gets along great with my Labrashepherd."
I like this! We already came up with one for Buddy, he's a Bassador, a rare hound retriever!

No comment on the doodle business (makes me too mad), but our vet did give me someone else's bill last time, they said "oh and you have a prior balance of $42 for Sissy's spaying," no, we don't have a Sissy. She then says "are you sure?!"

Thanks everyone! She is doing much better today. Checkup after 2 weeks of antibiotics. She had gained 1/4 pound since we started the sub-Q fluids a month ago :P

Sorry posting in dogs but the relevancy is, this is about Buddy's best friend and also to say thank DOG we have this wonderful new emergency veterinary hospital in town. Our 18 year old Gladysse kitty gave us quite a scare tonight. When we came home from shopping / dinner around 9, there were some little "puddles" about and she kept straining to urinate, sometimes doing a few drops. She coudn't seem to make it into, or find the litterbox. Long story short, we took her to emergency, diagnosis a UTI. She's started on antibiotics. We are SOOO relieved because, given her bad kidney situation, we thought it was all over for her (of course it still may be) BUT the vet was hopeful! The sub-Q fluids seemed to have been working wonders for her. Maybe it's just a common UTI. Sorry I am rambling but I am so relieved, yet still scared. We will call her regular vet tomorrow. Prior to the emergency hospital we would have had to page one of any number of vets who may be on call, then likely dragging him / her out of bed would have met at an old, dingey vet office about twice as far and half as well equipped. As it is now, they are on call every "off" hour of the year and we received great care within minutes.

I don't play fight with my dog because I work too hard to let him know that I am the alpha, and with his personality, playing in this way would be counterproductive. With my last dog, Puppy, I did used to "bite" her ear and do a low growl, it always got her in this gutteral lockjaw "talking" mode that was cute as heck! I just know better now so I probably wouldn't do it again. Think about it, isn't "Play Fighing" an oxymoron?

Oh yeah, great quote! That was a movie line as I remember that thread, but don't remember the movie.

Good one Debbie! Alan how can you tease us like that?

The last bitch who messed with me bled for 10 days :evilbat:

OK, I got Buddy from a "Free to a Good Home" ad in the paper. Went there and he was chained in a dirt lot. The lady never let him in the house because she did once, and he peed. She also had a pom that she did bring inside every night and babied. She'd gotten Buddy from the pound for her son, who was 13 and lost interest. She had him for a year and he lived under the porch the whole time. When we first brought him home he could not believe he was allowed inside the house, sleeping in his own bed next to ours, going for outings in the car, etc! He loved his life with us but I could tell he missed his boy for quite awhile. :(
-
I'm sorry to hear this  Is sub-q fluids part of his treatment? Gladysse is doing amazing with them. PM if you want details. Of course, you / your evt may have already ruled it out, but I had to ask because it has done wonders for her.

Swiffer Wetjet warning.. got in an email today....
BuddysMom replied to a topic in Everything about dogs
The real reason not to use a Swifter: because it sucks at cleaning!
