1. I don't think she will forget. I was heart scared that Meggie would forget about me after not seeing her for 6 months, but she went ballistic when she saw me. She still does.
2. Welcome to Dogo Delta!!! :D
3. hang on.. the unspayed bitch belongs to you? Why didn't you tell us this? Fear of being flamed? Well prepare for it now... Why was the puppy with your neighbour instead of with your bitch? this just doesn't add up. :o
4. hmm tricky situation. Make sure the puppy pad is right beside the door. If you can before the typhoons start, take the pad out to the grass and set her on the pad with the command to pee. When she does it on command on the pad give her lots of praise. This is a bit of a weird situation and you need to be prepared that you may have to retrain her to go outside on the grass again. Keep her range of movement limited in the house so she doesnt have access to pee in another room. Take her to the pad immediately after she eats/sleeps/plays as these are times when she will most likely need to relieve herself. If its just raining with no danger then make her go outside. She is a dog after all and you can dry her feet when she comes in. We get torrential rain here in N.Ireland as well but I don't use that excuse with my 11 week old pup not to go out. I know its a pain to get wet and have to dry them after but make her go out.
5. Where is the mother of these puppies incidentally?
6. Knowing the history of what you have said about your grandparents before I know this isn't a situation that you can get easily around. SPG you really need to get up on your feet and move out. However explain to them that dogs are social animals and they need human companionship inside the house. If he is left outside with less social interaction he could turn aggressive and ultimately if he bites then he may have to be euthanased. I know thats taking it to the extreme but you need extreme angles right now to convince your grandparents. Good luck
7. Bella popped into my head there as did Kelly and Delta? Kind of sounds a bit like Thelma but I don't think she will hurt to taking on a name change
8. opinion from me. Its rather pointless asking ten different questions which are all mostly pointless at once. If it was a new person unknown they would be reprimanded I am quite sure.
9. 3 WEEKS old? :o Where is the puppy's Mum?! This is definitely not normal and the puppy needs to see a vet asap if she is vomitting with diarrhoea
10. She is lovely and looks to be such a sweetheart. Please keep us posted on her and good luck with grooming those horrid mats out
11. I right clicked and got the properties url for the pic and saw it. Poor Scout! He looks a wee bit sorry for himself I have to say! At the surgery when we got oily cats or dogs in, our first line of defence was washing up liquid. If that failed then we went for lemon juice slightly diluted but you must be careful to watch Scout's eyes don't get lemon juice near them. Good luck!
12. I've trained a few owners with GWHP's before and they are dogs with bound and bounds of energy. They need a lot of scope and freedom and I certainly wouldn't recommend the breed type for apartment living. I am really glad that you checked in here first and welcome to Dogo. Good luck with finding a dog to suit your needs
13. Oh a few nights ago I decided I had a munchie attack and walked Kes down to the garage. We left the house and it was perfectly clear and dry and half way down the heavens opened and we both got drenched. Wee Kes kept on looking up at me wagging her tail and taking the rain like a wee trooper  Talk about those eyes to make me feel like a horrible mean Mum! :o
14. Kes and I tonight went to a car boot sale for socialisation practice and then to the park for a wee run afterwards. In the park there were a group of 3 guys of about 15 years old being noisy whistling, singing and yelling at me; "Hey sexy, will you go with my mate" ..the usual crap ya know :P . anyhow I just laughed and walked on and they started getting even more raucous and Kes turned back and stopped dead and barked at them with a growl! :o It was like a puppy bark growl but it was definitely a warning to them that she didnt like their behaviour. I think its amazing that she has this instinct at only 11 weeks of age, but yet its very reassuring too. It was actually quite funny because i think she forgets that shes still just a little fluff ball pupper but in her own wee mind shes a big dog with attitude!
15. HAPPY WHELPING DAY ZEB! :bday:
16. yayyy thats super news! Pooh Bear: long may your recovery continue :D
17. I took Kes down the lane to the fields beside where Meg's house is and her owners weren't there. Kes and Meg met for the first time. I feel almost disloyal to Meg by showing up with Kes by my side. Meg went crazy and nearly jumped the fence to get to me...she still remembers which I love. Now usually Meg would be very reserved with seeing me with another dog and especially with puppies she takes little interest. I had Kes right up at the fence and watched the two of my babies. I don't know how to explain it but I got a bit emotional. I mean Meg is the little dog that has always been by my side and now heres me with my own puppy...i never could have envisaged it. Meg licked kes nose which really was astounding and Kes was very very polite to Meg. I don't know but they seemed to really like each other and I can honestly say that Meg is not a dog thats interested in dogs. She much prefers people. At one point Meg looked into my eyes as did Kes and it was a strange warm feeling that made me feel good that these two dogs saw something in me that was trusting.
18. Nice intro. I have to admit I was a little bemused by the interrogation  Looking forward to seeing pics of you and your pups and getting to know you better. :fadein:
19. Happy whelping day Scout :bday:
20. Zoe has taken on a new lease of life. This mad dog will be 14 on the 15th June and she thinks shes a puppy again since Kes came. Even when Kes wants to sleep at night when the lights are out , Zoe is play bowing to her and barking to get her riled up and trying to get her into trouble  Now yesterday I bought Kes a puppy nylabone for her teething and I took her outside to pee. Zoe sneaked into the crate and not only stole the nylabone but she chewed it into two halves :o As soon as my back is turned shes stealing Kes' toys and acting the lig with them  I think theres still a bit of life in the old girl yet!
21. exactly DO! Who in their right mind would want a wee Boston :o :P Seriously I think a Cairn terrier would be a super choice for you. They are very hardy wee dogs and have a lovely temperament with people and other dogs. They think they are a big dog inside a wee dogs body!
22. nope I've seen basset griffon vendeen before but this guy (or girl) looked like a tri colour basset only with longer fur and a mega brushy tail
23. When I was passing in the bus, I saw what looked like a long haired Basset hound being walked. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a cross breed but I would love to have got off and asked the woman. I know that throw-backs like long hair can sometimes emerge in breeds like Weimeraners and Hungarian vizslas but a Basset?
24. lol ok I'll get some really stinky skanking socks and freeze them
