THIS WEEKEND ROWIE AND I WILL GO LOOK AT GOLDEN RETRIEVER PUPPIES, AND I AM GOING TO GET ONE VERY VERY SOON AND I GOT ROWIE DOG TOOTHPASTE!!! I'm sorry was that a bit too jumbled  Ok now that I have my sanity back, let me explain. Last weekend I went over to Maurie's(human rowie) house and the wheather was so wonderful we stayed outside half the time, and I got to walk Rowie(dog), and Deez and I taught her Sit and Stay! (a technique I learned from lilian Maurie  ) anyhoo! I brought my digi along and took millions of pictures, and showed them to my mom when i got home and... SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH ROWIE(dog)!!!! so now WERE GETTING A GOLDEN RET! (hopefully!) I'M SO PSYCHED!! So continueing (sp?) on with my story! I remember when rowie(human) and I went to the dog show, there was a beautiful Rowie(dog) lookalike golden retriever called craigga, and we got a breeder's number from the owner! So we dug for it and i called them and he told me where they were stationed and Maurie and i are visting them THIS WEEKEND@!!!! ALSO! I noticed Maurie had been searching for doggie toothpaste everywhere so i asked my dad to get me some and i gave her it today at school.. YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE LOOK ON HER FACE! priceless i tell you!!! Anyways! Oh wait!!!! The reason I haven't been posting a lot is because my internet is down so until its fixed for good.. i'll just havta post thru rowie! (maurie) ok i'm done boring you with the meaningless aspects of my life! PS. I MISS YOU ALL DOGO FAMILY!
Well, the boys immediately bee-line for her and before I can say anything Travis gives her this big, wet, sloppy dog kiss right on the lips. My wife promptly stood up, gagged, and vomited.
*BARFS all over keyboard* :-?
This is the reason I'm starting to very seriously consider vegetarianism. :(
Right behind you Abker..I already don't eat red meat, except for chicken which I'm trying to lay off, but my mom keeps insisting that I'm "growing" Those pictures are revolting... I can't stand to look at them
Another thing. Since Bahrain is an Islamic Country they kill their animals by what is called "halal" (hard to prouncounce, it has a hard "h"). They do this by saying one of the "souras" from their Holy Book the "Quraan" and then swiftly chop the head off. It may seem brutal, but actually is the best method of killing because it cuts the jegular vein in the neck and the animal has a very quick and virtually painless death. Muslims here will not eat meat that isn't killed that way because they believe it is not fair on the animals. So all McDonald's here have meat that is brought in from Saudi Arabia were (believe it or not ) the cows, sheep, and chicken are taken well care of and are killed by the quick and painless "halal" method. It's safe I guess to eat meat here, since the chickens, sheep, and cows don't really suffer.
I know what you mean Rowie, I've always felt the same way too.. But nevertheless they are animals, being slaughtered for our well being... Ok well maybe Cows, Chickens, and Sheep are a must in a human's diet...but when it comes to Slaughtering dogs, and Horses just for our sake when there are plenty of other meat sources still available..that is just absurd, not to mention repulsive... -

Where have all the "recent topics" gone?
nadooshkinz replied to nadooshkinz's topic in Everything about dogs
hmMmMm.... -
Interesting read, I think not!
I beg to differ! I think the article really did explore some areas that other articles don't especially the fact that if you cant handle an ABPT then dont OWN one, usually people are just raging on and on that ABPT's are violent and all that crap, but somehow they cease to state why the owners had one in the first place!
-
The average person should rather leave the fighting breeds to the specialists.
SO True...
-
For some reason there are NO recent topics on the "recent topic" column.. What happened? :-?
-
INTERESTING! :o No really it is! This is actually the first time i've heard of something like that! (humans and dogs) hmmm... there's something to ponder about!

Hey guys! I did some research and this is what I found! (ps. I "bolded" the points I think are important) Anyways I hope this helps, and if it doesnt dont worry, it'll probably go away as he matures  Coprohagia is the technical term for eating feces. Although most people find it repulsive, it is quite natural for dogs, especially puppies to eat feces. (Feces found in kitty's litter box is an especially favorite treat.) Fresh feces closely resemble the first solid food the puppy ate: warm, semi-solid, semi-digested food that mom regurgitated for her pups to eat. Often this behavior will just go away when the pup matures. In the mean time, keep the pup's toilet area as clean as possible. Be sure that the puppy is checked for worms and other possible problems such as something lacking in the dog's diet. It is a good idea to have the dog's diet approved by your vet, or switch to a nutritionally complete dog food sold by your vet or pet store. Many owners have had success in stopping this behavior by supplementing their dog's diet with one spoonful of canned pineapple or a teaspoon of spinach or a dash of MSG. There are products on the market such as 'Forbid' that can also be added to the dog's food to help stop the problem. If the dog is still fond of feces, try teaching your dog not to touch it using the command 'Off.' Put your dog on leash and walk him by some feces. If he shows any interest in it, tell him, 'No, off.' If he continues to go for it, then loudly scold him, 'OFF!!!' and pull him away from it with a short, sharp tug on the leash. When he stops, praise him. Continue walking and keep returning to different piles of feces over and over, repeating the off procedure until he gets the idea that you disapprove of his dietary interests. Whenever he shows no interest in the feces, be sure to tell him how happy you are through praise and reward. It is also possible to make the feces unappetizing by sprinkling them with hot sauce, lemon juice or anything the dog finds distasteful. Some dogs like hot sauce and will consider it a garnish, so find out what your dog does not like before using it. Be sure to clean up your dog's feces immediately after he defecates so as to prevent the problem in the first place. Do not give him the opportunity to indulge himself.
Poor Rio! :( Thank God he has you, he is one lucky boy! Rubber Band? That's sick! That must have been soooo painful...poor baby! :( I remember once when I was 7 years old (or somewhere around that age) a stray was hanging around our area, she was so sweet! She was pregnant (suprise, suprise) and had a docked tail. Only the tail wasn't professionaly docked, it was cut off by scissors or a knife. I could see that clearly, the end of her tail wasn't healed properly, and was red. Someone (no doubt a BYB or iressponsibly 'breeder') had cut her tail off, no anesthetic, no pain killers, nothing! Poor baby! A few weeks later someone called the BSPCA and they took her away. I never heard of her again. :(
OMD!!!!!!!! Rowie that is so sad! If only these people could gather some sense in their hollow skulls! WTF was the person thinking, docking a tail with a knife or scissor!!!!!!!
-
I agree with Kat, I'm against tail docking AND ear cropping unless it's for medical or working safety reasons. :)
Yeah I agree.. extra hugs AND kisses for rio!
-
I'm with K on this one :(
Me too :-? I know this may seem a little harsh to you, but truthfully what else CAN you do? Any other person wouldn't know what to do no matter how detailed your explanations are.. after all she IS your dog... And Hopefully your family will understand that you need to be there for her...
