Well Holly's gone....Thanks everyone I know I did the right thing. The people were actually very nice. They went on vacation and left the dog with a neighbour, but the neighbour though she was a neusience so he was planning on tying her up and coming to feed her once a day. :evil: I'm also pretty sure that this person abused her cause the owners were so surprised when I told them she was afraid of certain people. They were an elderly couple, and just haden't had the time to spay her, :roll:. But Holly...erm Sheba really seemed happy to see them. They wanted to pay me for looking after her, but I told them to use the money to get her spayed. They also said I could visit her whenever I want, so she's not totally gone. I actually feel really good about re-uniting her with her owners, legally I could have kept her, since I took all measures to find her owners, but I just wouldn't fel right. I know she'll be really happy now, although she did keep looking back at me when she walked away, like she was saying "why aren't I going with you?" But it was for the best. :D :cry: :D

Ok, I called. They said that they went on vacation for the summer and left the dog in the care of a friend, but when they got back the friend said the dog had run away. I know I have to do the right thing no matter how hard, but I can't help wishing that Holly's not the dog there looking for, even though I hope they find their dog. I'm going to meet them right now, They live pretty close to where we found Holly.

I was walking in the same park That I found Holly in when I saw a sign. I couldn't really tell by the picture cause it was black and white but the sign said: Lost! Female Yellow Labrador mix. Please help Sheba get home, We miss her very much. Reward! and a phone number. I'm almost sure this is Holly, But why did the sign just go up now? We've had her for a month! And I called the humane society everyday for a week, and the animal control and the police! I know I should do the right thing and call.....But I love this dog! I know she's not mine, but thses people didn't even get her spayed, they don't sound like responsible dog owners. What should I do??? I know I have to do the right thing but.............

Well I don't know why they say wait until 6 months, But puppies 8 weeks or older can now be safely done, so I don't think it will have any ill effects.

I just found out yesterday while I was in a the petstore that my friends dog died. her name was Sammy and somehow she had gotten out of her yard and she got hit by a car :cry:. I really loved this dog, she was the sweetest thing. I totally blame her owners, there not exactally the most responsible people, Sammy wasen't even spayed and two of their cats have litters at the moment. Its too bad that the poor dog has to pay the price. Holly came into heat sometime yesterday. I know I have to watch her at every single second, and not let her in the yard on her own, but she still need excercise, and a lot of people around here just let there dogs roam. Is there any way I could keep the other dogs away? Also Lucky's going crazy! He's neutered and everything but he's still trying to go after her! We already called the vet, but I was just wondering why vets won't spay a dog in heat?

Not to be mean or anything, but if you cann't afford to take your dog to the vet now, what if she has problems delivering her puppies and needs to go to the vet right away? Or what if something happens to one of the puppies? Breeding costs a lot of moneyand you'd be lucky to break even if you sell the puppies. Also heath testing to make sure the parents should be bred is very expensive, so if you can't afford to take the dog to the vet I suggest you get her spayed. But theres not much you can do about it now. Gestation usually lasts 63 days, but the puppies may be delivered anywhere between 58 and 68 days

I decided to take the dogs for a really good walk to the dog park tonight, and I was just playing fetch with them when this guy comes roaring toward us full speed on his bike. I call the dogs and move them away from the bike path. The guy stops beside us and yells "You better put those dogs on a leash or I'll kill them, and I mean it!" :evil: What right did he have for yelling at me when he's going full speed and could've killed a child! There were tons of people there tonight. We were no where near him and the dogs didn't even glance his way! Poor Holly ran behind me cause she was scared! (she's terrified of yelling, and shy around men as it is) I just had to rant, I feel so much better now!
