Are your dogs jealous of the computer?
Lucky Chaos replied to JackieMaya's topic in Everything about dogs
You all have to learn how to play with dogs and be on the comp at the same time! Nah just kidding, but I do often play fetch with one of them while on here. -
We get all types here, from very knowledgeable to not very knowledgeable at all.
To the just plain stupid.... I knew someone who's dog licked some anti-freeze. This one survived, but so many more dogs and cats die just like this. Its a good thing to spread the warning to people who may not know.

I've met a two wolfdogs before. Even though I don't believe they should be intentionally bred, you have to admit its very exciting just to be around one. The two I know are owned by a really nice lady who rescued them. She almost never tells people about them because I think they're illegal here. I know most worlfdogs are mis-represented, and most have no wolf in them at all, but I spent a few summers at a zoo and took a special interest in the four wolves they had there, and the similarities between the wolves and these dogs was unmistakeable.
Okay, the movie I was talking about (I did some searching) is called "Man's Best Friend," and the dog is a GORGEOUS black and tan Tibetan Mastiff. Here is what they said about the movie: Plot Summary for Man's Best Friend (1993) A genetically mutated dog is accidentally released from the lab of Dr. Jarret and ends up at the home of news reporter/animal rights advocate Lori Tanner. The dog, Max, endowed with intelligence and other special abilities, is at first lovable, but also proves to be a ferocious, unstoppable killer.
I've seen that movie. It was... odd to say the least, since I thought I'd be watching a happy dog movie. Not one about a killer dog. But in Max's defence he didn't kill anyone unnessasarily. The ending was pretty sad too.

Angel, I used to consider you a friend. But I want to know why Nostalgia wasn't spayed? Unless something's changed you don't show her so why was she intact? This shouldn't, wouldn't have happened if you had done the right thing. Did you sell the pups with spay neuter contracts at least? If you haven't GET HER SPAYED NOW. We don't need more unwanted puppies. And if the owners don't want their pups anymore did you offer to take them back? I'm sorry but you just took 10 homes away from other dogs who needed them. And if each of your puppies has just ONE litter of 10 puppies each, thats 100 more homeless dogs in this world. I have to say I;m disapointed, I thought you were a much better person then this. This truly makes me sad. :(

some day ill get one of these
Lucky Chaos replied to between the wrinkles's topic in Everything about dogs
That Stabyhoun is beautiful! (Or maybe I just have a thing for black and white dogs  ) They remind me a lot of the Munsterlander a breed I think is beautiful. I had the pleasure of meeting one once at the park.
i'm not sure there a many 15yr. olds that take care of their dog like me.
I can name about 6 just on this board off the top of my head between the ages 13-16.
excuse me where are you getting i surrendered a dog at 3months
That was a direct quote from your other post.

We'll here's one of the most important lessons of all: A dog is your responsibility for life, not just when you feel like it. Use the lesson well. :D
OK I read through the old post, this is all pretty disturbing. Let me say the least that I feel I must say ... Nae Nae I'm sure you're not the only one here who has made a bad desicion in the past (referring to adopting a puppy you couldn't handle then returning it to the shelter...) I do not want to judge that now, it's over. What IS concerning me is that you still seem to have the attitude that pets are toys. You also seem pretty young (like a ten year old who's just a really good speller?) :evilbat: sorry I couldn't resist ... at any rate you apparently still live with your parents and maybe you got that attitude from them, I don't know... But what can you do to change it? Are you willing to work on that? I see your presence here as at least a positive step but I think you are going to hear some harsh things that are not all undserved ... but I do hope that you tough it out, stay here and learn. :fadein:
Okay so last two things, I'm not trying to be harsh but Nookie inforces the stereotype that teenages cannot be responsible for pets and whatever happens to those animals is not their fault. I am the same age as Nookie. But the point is no matter if she IS a teeneger Nookie is responsible for this dogs life now.

Last thing I will say here.
around 3-4months,she was a big dog though
Your previous post said she was 3-4 months when given up.
LC where was the post about the previous dog? I'm curious and concerned now! :-?
http://forum.dogomania.com/viewtopic.php?t=13797&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 That reminds me reading it over didn't you have a couple other dogs before you got rid of too?A lab puppy and a GSD if I remember correctly.

Well sorry to be the only one not congradulating you for getting ANOTHER dog. But what happened to the last Cookie? Oh that's right the dog was teething so you gave her up. How long will this one last? Sorry, but frankly you should NOT be getting another dog when you ABANDONED your last one because she was a puppy doing normal puppy things.

When we were at the cottage there was a pair of hawk's nesting on the island with us. Everytime my mom saw them she would call Chaos. When I asked her why she said she was afraid they were gonna swoop down and carry her off. By the way she's 40 lbs so she was perfectly safe.

It wouldn't be too long if he wasn't all alone. Because him and Chaos have gotten into fights before he's either crated or kept in the basement (which is heated/air conditioned, lots of toys and water) Leaving them out all together for 10 - 12 hours isn't bad, but not in a crate or totally alone, personally. That seems to be the best suggesstion Kendalyn, thanks. I think we'll try that instead of him going over there.

It's not so much Riley needs to be worked with. He's perfectly well behaved with me, he's just a hyper dog. The problem is my uncle dosn't like him because he's not as laid back as the others. But he loves the other two and asked us to bring them, which is why we are. Again calm or not, I don't know if leaving two dogs with my neighbour is a good idea. While well behaved, they're both VERY strong I usually only walk two at a time. I really wish we'd found someone else to look after him/them but it was a last minute thing.
-
Monday is Thanksgiving here and we're going to my aunt and uncle's house for the day/dinner. Which means we'll be gone around 10 - 12 hours. Which is obviously too long to leave the dogs, so we were planning to bring them. But even though my aunt and uncle like dogs, bringing all three of them seems like a lot. So since Riley is a very hyper dog compared to the other two we were going to leave him at my neighbours. Leaving all three just seems like too big a burden to leave with my neighbour although she did offer. So thats not an option either. Both Chaos and Lucky are great with kids, pretty calm, tolerant, well behaved. While Riley is hyper, sometimes nippy especially while playing, he often jumps if I don't watch him every minute. Don't get me wrong he's a awesome dog and pretty well behaved, but he's a typical intense Border Collie. The problem is, I don't know if leaving him with the neighbour is a good idea either, She has a very calm lab mix. Riley is the kind of dog that needs constant attention especially on walks, he's always on the lookout for things to chase. Also, when we first adopted him he had seperation anxiety, and got really upset if we were out of his sight even for a little bit. Even now he's fine as long as we come home to a schudule, but if I have something to do after and I have to be a little late I come home to him barking/crying. He also dosn't know the neighbour very well. The last option which I really do not like is bringing him and keeping him in the yard. It's not like he would be left totally alone, but he would be along for longer then I would like. What would be the best option in this situation? And is it fair to leave just one dog instead of all three?

Pits and the Media... will it ever end?!?
Lucky Chaos replied to __crazy_canine__'s topic in Amstaffs & Pit Bulls
As far as music and stuff, isn't there a rapper named pitbull? Again thats probably his name for a tough mean image. -
No, I meant the Contentintal Kennel CLub......you can register a dog with them if you submit two pictures of it and 'say' it's a pure bred. To me, that is a joke. There is no way of knowing if you are registering a pure breed or not. Yes, the SCBCA provides pedigree on some of the poo and doodle mixes, but they are not classified as a breed. I particularly don't mind this since this is the very way we got our pure breds of today. At some point, someone had to start keeping a pedigree on them before they were considered a pure breed dog. The SCBCA is VERY strict on letting you register a cross though. Either way, I was just wondering who all used what clubs and why? No need to ruffle any feathers or get defensive - it's a simple question.
The Continental Kennel Club also registers "designer dogs" I believe. They really don't care if a dog is purebred or not. IMO any kennel club that registers mixed breeds is only for BYB's and irrisponsible breeders. I guess that includes the SCBCA, even though I've never heard of it.

I had no idea you could boundary train cats. Does it really work? All of mine are indoor cats because I don't want them hit by cars, getting in fights, ect. How exactly would you go about boundary training a cat?

Are here more of the Bernese mountain dogs owners?
Lucky Chaos replied to imported_Lina's topic in Group 2
I know this is a really old thread, but oh well. I've actually seen quite a few berners around here. Beautiful dogs, I do love them. I just hate the fact that they only live about 6-8 years usually. :( -
I don't give rawhide at all no matter what kind. My old GSD Koda chewed it until it was soft and swallowed it whole and began to choke. Luckily she brought it back up almost instantly.

I apologize for mis-reading you, but it would have been a lot easier to tell us that instead of posting
gee thanks for you opnion. but again, if i want a dog i'm gonna get a dog. if i want a certain breed, im gonna get a certain breed. didnt' expect such a negative feed back.
I just don't understand why you would say this and not tell us in the first place! I still stand by what I said about teacup dogs, but if you going to the pound thats great. I wish you luck finding your next best friend.
LOL WOOHOO!!!!!! puppy shopping!!!! tea cup chi lol or somethign really small
It was in a different thread. I happened to remember it and just brought it up, I honestly wasn't trying to start anything. But DAL has posted a few times here and basically said she'll do what she wants even if it means buying from a BYB. I can't stop her, no one can, but we were trying to help and educate. If I am wrong then I will apologize.
