1. :D
Hmmmmm I don't really see pit in her. I definately see the boxer though. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part but perhaps theres a dash of Rhodesian Ridgeback?
I see RR in there, the toes look splayed and that's a pretty common defect in RR feet. The only thing in her head that doesn't really look RR is the muzzle looks more boxer to me. I would say RR more than pit. Sure signs of RR are: Will confiscate the entire bed if ever allowed on it. Can hear the sound of a bag of cookies being opened over a blaring stereo and through the walls of 4 rooms. Will insist the best place to sit is on your feet or in your lap, regardless of age. Can sleep in the cats bed without hanging out. Will ignore EVERYTHING at dinner-time. Dinner-time lasts 2 seconds.
2.  Pumpkin, my cat is a :o Pit Bull, along with Sally, Rocket & Sandy. Oh dear where does that leave Miss Kitty.
3. :D Good for you Proud. You are not a BYB and you are not a SHOW breeder, you are a REAL, HONEST TO DOG CONCERNED BREEDER. You are what the the show people NEED to get back to and what the BYB people SHOULD be. Show breeders get so wrapped up in what is the winning fancy is that they will deviate from the actual breed standards to the point their dogs don't actually conform anymore but to them that doesn't matter because it's what the JUDGE is putting up to win. ex. Excessive slant on the topline to a GSD is not correct no matter how many judges will say it is. Keep in mind that your breeding program is essential to the betterment of the breed and one day show breeders may be coming to you to FIX their problems, with this in mind stay true to the breed's standard and limit the registration on pups YOU feel won't contribute to the breed. Also keep in mind a fault with a dogs head can be fixed in one generation, but bone/substance ie. movement issues can be lost forever.
4. :-?
Quote: 2. All dogs except those owned by licenced breeders must be desexed. Penalty - $350 fine if dog has never been bred, $5000 if dog has been bred and lifetime ban on breeder's licence. This I disagree with.... I fully support the spay/neuter of pets, but at the same time, there are things that some people like to do with their dogs that require the dogs be intact... conformation and french ring/shutzhund trials being two I can think of right now. Sooo... would people wanting to keep intact dogs in order to participate in these sports without the intent of breeding be fined and/or have to have their dogs altered just because they have no plans of breeding? If you wanted to keep an intact dog for some reason, and there were special exceptions made for that, then how would it be decided what was a suitable reason? Who would be deciding these things?
For the people you are talking about, they would be required to obtain a breeder's license even though they do not plan on breeding, the course required to obtain the license would educate them to the dangers of having an intact dog, therefore they can be held liable for negligence.
5.
thanks for all the compliments =, I adopted dante from a shelter when he was 4 months old...got really lucky he is a great dog and looks great too....I was trying tro figure out what y'all where talking about when you were talking about my profile and I forgot I am in one of the pics playing frisbee. My clothes look horrible bc I had just lost a lot of weight (40lbs in 2 months on the atkins diet) and hadn't bought new ones yet because I wasn't sure if I was done losing weight. Anyways, that is my favorite pic of him so I though I'd post it.
 your butt!
6. :D I would call them back and volunteer to keep Sheba while she recovers from the spay surgery. Tell them to keep your number and that you will be more than happy to puppy-sit for them and if they are ever in a position to have to give her up, you want first dibs.
7. :D

:D Dante looks great, can really tell he's a happy baby, even in a dress.
What a cutie! :D
which one sheltie?
Rosebud, you are so bad......hehehehe
 Couldn't resist that one sheltie, plus from Brad's profile he don't look that bad himself.
8. :D Test the dog's name, if the dog doesn't know that name I would keep her based on one of two decisions, either it's not that dog or the people are so irresponsible that they didn't even take the time to teach the dog her name.
9. :( Prayers and crossed paw-paws coming your way.
10. :D Now that one is toooo funny. I have the one for RR's. I got a delivery from UPS a couple of weeks ago and met the driver outside on my porch with door closed. He very politely asked me if I would wait until he was IN the truck before going indoors. I told him my dogs are not going to bolt past me. HIS reply. "Would you please WAIT till I'm in the truck" I laughed and obliged the man.
11. :D Dante looks great, can really tell he's a happy baby, even in a dress.
What a cutie! :D
which one sheltie?
12. :D Great story Courtnek. One day when I was getting ready for work Sally was actually whining about me leaving. I had to have a talk with her. I told her No baby doll you have to stay, mommy has to work. She hung her head like but please so I explained to her, Mommy no work, Sally no dinner, I have to work so you can have dinner. When I got home that night she went straight past me and on to the truck to see if there was anything in the truck, it was like she was looking for what mommy went and got for dinner. Fortunately I did have to go to the store to get kibble that day and she was a happy girl.
13. :D Thanks, I lmao when I first saw it. When I first got it in e-mail, I thought I was going to something horrific or similar to what is going on in Seattle. I almost spewwed my coffee all over the monitor.
14.
AH, you see, this place is very, well, ADDICTING..... Once you join us you are in our snare, and you will buy back your soul and give it to us....... :evilbat: :evilbat: :evilbat: LOL
Then we will sell it back to you one paw-paw at a time.
15. :D There is a sticky in pictures that gives the directions for posting pics. They have to be saved to a group online before you can post them. Post pic, Post pic, Post pic
16. :D One word of caution. Do not pull with the toy since she is so young. Let her do all of the pulling. The reason I bring this up is because her teeth are still not yet set and you don't want to change her bite. You can pull gently but don't drag her around or let her try to drag you, keep the game of tug n war a gently one. Good luck and we hope you visit regularly. Actually we really want you to become addicted too.
17. :o Warning! Swallow all food and beverages before viewing photo! Warning to all dog owners: Watch your dog! Dogs are being picked off one at a time. They are falling in great numbers. Police in the province advise all dog owners to "Watch your Dog".
18. :D Your welcome Courtnek. One more thing that I forget to mention was that experienced dog owners would not have to be as concerned about a dominance problem developing as a new or inexperienced owner would.
19. :D What an adventure for the babies, now they're gonna want to go every week.
20. :D Two words Positive Reinforcement!
21. :-? Hmmmm! Marble this isn't that far off topic, with the dobie being 5 1/2 months old it's possible she's coming into her first heat and just can't control her bladder. I would still suspect there is a self-confidence issue that should be worked on but would also suggest you check her and see if she is in heat. Sometimes the vulva swelling will not be noticable in the first heat, sometimes there is not any really significant blood either. You can do a simple test on her to see how she reacts. Take a thermoter and act like you are going to take her temperature, if she is overly sensitive she may be in heat, next scratch her behind beside and just below where the tail inserts, most dogs enjoy this but females in heat LOVE it and will wrap there tail around there body, then take a white tissue and wipe her pee-pee to see if there is any discoloration that could indicate the slighest bit of blood. If she passes all three or just the third she is in heat, if she passes the first two but fails the third she may be in heat and should be watched as if she is.
22. :-? Now that I have read all of the posts on both threads. Submissive behaviour regardless of the type of behaviour is a sign of insecurity. The best and safest way to boost a dogs security is in a neutral zone (playing). The dog already knows who is Alpha, if he didn't he wouldn't be exhibiting submissive behavior, playing tug and alternating the winner will only bring the dogs self-confidence and place him higher up in the pack order. This process in itself will help to eliminate the submissive behavior. When dealing with guarding breeds and building up their self-confidence you should really know what you are doing or you could inadvertantly create a whole new set of serious problems, when dealing with a more relaxed breed this is not necessarily an issue, therefore the purpose of putting the toy up is to discourage the dog from developing a dominance/control issue over the toy. Now my dogs know who is Alpha and they do not challenge me for that place, they are quite content with me there, they know I "hunt" for their food, that I protect them, (like an RR needs protecting), I give them equal treatment and they respect me and my decisions, the day they question my decision about someone or something is the day I re-evaluate my decision. However I did have to use the tug-play method to build up Sally-Rose's self-confidence and it worked rather successfully. (story on submissive peeing thread).
23. :D Great advice from all and a great article. As for the tug toy it works, Sally-Rose did not experience submissive peeing but she was definately insecure and overly submissive for an RR. I would encourage her to be more secure by playing tug with her and letting her win, I also threw a twist into it, I would cheat to get the toy, while she was holding ground pulling I would touch her belly so that she would jump and let go of the toy, when she jumped I would ignore it and continue with our tug-game by giving her the toy back, if she didn't jump I talk lovingly to her, praising her and letting her know everything's o.k. This twist was very successful for her and has helped her to gain alot of confidence in herself and her surroundings. She is also not as shy in strange situations.
24. :D Welcome to Dogo, glad you made the right decision about your fur-kid. As for the danglers, they should shrink up pretty good but probably not all the way. I will share this little story with you, my Sally's daddy didn't get fixed till he was 6 and it was the funniest thing to watch him when he would sit down, he would hover over the ground swinging them so that when he sat he didn't sit on them, from what I understand the first time he sat down after they were removed he literrally sighed and smiled. Elsastarr here can fill in the rest of the details.

Perhaps you could ask her about Neuticles?
OMG I lost my dinner....
dinner!, I just washed my moniter with a very, very good amaretto sour. Hillside, shame on you, disappear for a while and you come back getting everybodys monitors dirty.
25.
I vote DP and Rosebud for president!
Geez, thanks Rowie, I am very flattered, I will have to decline the nomination as I am not too fond of participating in politics, but Thanks anyways.
