Me too. My mutts are very calm and listen better than my purebreed. The baby still needs work, but my Trixie is the best dog in the world!

I have a black lab/golden retriever mix and I thought she looked like a flat coat retriever. When I contacted the flat coat society, they told me she was a "Goldador" and that they were intentionally breeding these dogs to be work dogs, i.e., sight dogs, and etc. They are supposed to be very smart. So far, my chocolate lab is much smarter, but may be because she is older.

No, but my dog eats poo :o And you thought you post was gross!! :-?

I had a problem myself with something else earlier on and no one EVER replied to my e-mails, and the problem is still unsolved!! Let me know if anybody ever gets a response. I'll use that same contact.

Well, I finally had the courage to do it. We talked to our vet, and she will come to our house next Sunday and put her to sleep. I can hardly think of the phrase, let alone type it!!!!!!!!!!!! She was my very first dog. We have had her for more than 16 years. This is so hard. I know it is best for her but it will not be the same without her  All I want to do is make her last week a nice one. I want her to eat all the things we didn't let her have and I want to spend every moment with her. This is like putting one of my children to sleep. She is almost as old as my youngest daughter  I am really going to miss her. My poor baby.  I think we are going to keep her ashes and put them on our mantle with her picture. Has anyone every had this done? Or should we just let our vet take her with her???? I don't know what to decide. I don't care about the money. But do I want to look at her ashes everyday and cry and cry and will I think about her more??????

That is sad. People with above-ground pools need to be careful too. Our pool has a deck and stairs around it and Daisy goes up there all the time, but the other day, Chelsea ran up there and the cover is full of water. I thought she would go/fall in. It was very scary. I had to block off the stairs with a section of my garden fence.

Yeah, I guess you're right.

I just know, that sometime we say things we shouldn't when we are upset. I am not saying anything about the way she handles her dogs or etc. I don't know the whole story. And, I just think she didn't think before she posted.

Thanks :D And Welcome!!

Daisy will look up when she hears a dog bark on TV. Other than that, no.

A bad enough day that she would accuse us.

I wrote to the Flat Coat Retriever Socitey and this is what they had to say: Dear Gina, It would be very difficult to tell from the pictures about your pup (who is VERY CUTE!) . I am often called to see dogs that shelters believe are Flat Coats, and 99.9% of these turn out to be Lab mixes of some sort. The most common is Lab/Golden, but I also see Lab/Border Collie, Lab/setter, Lab/Chow, even Lab/spaniel. As you may know, Flat Coats are very rare, and these hard-to-find, very expensive puppies would almost certainly never find their way into a shelter. Only a few litters are bred each year, and the babies are cherished and protected by breeders and puppy buyers. The very occasional adult Flat Coat who needs rescue is usually the victim of human problems such as divorce, job changes, family illness, etc. The Lab/Golden cross, which I suspect your pup may be, is such a good mix that the resulting "Goldador" is purpose-bred by some of the guide dog organizations. This mix produces dogs that are intelligent, highly trainable, beautiful, and loyal: perfect for work as service dogs. If your pup has even a few white hairs, on chest, toes, or tails, then this is almost certainly what she is. Good luck with this precious babe. If I can help in any way, or provide more information, just let me know. Joan Dever, Secretary, FCRSA Chelsea does have a white spot on her chest, so I think she must really be a "Goldador"... too weird for me to say. But it sounds pretty confirmed. I was told that Chelsea was a Lab/Retriever mix. I assumed a golden retriever. But, I saw some photos in a new pet supply and think she is a flat-coat. Please look at the link in my signature, and the the one just listed below, and let me know what you think. Thanks :) http://www.fcrsainc.org/photos.html

Help! Transport Needed This Saturday - Eastern USA

Thanks! :D -
Strange in a funny way.... I wonder if it is a real ad? I heard at work yesterday that there is a web site where you can make a fake CNN page that looks like the real thing. Some one put that the Olsen Twins were coming to Widener University (where I work). I think they are really going to the University of Delaware. (just a little off the subject  )
