1. Can you find out more about that for me daisykatep? Sounds very similar..... Thanks all!!
2. I will keep that in mind, thanks! I will give this method a couple of days, and I should hear from the holistic vet too, and will ask her.
3. Yep, K. She really was never better, then started to go the other way! We are working on it :-?
4. Thanks everybody :D The poop is firming :laola: Not great yet, but getting there! (see what he get for calling her "just" a dog)   He has to clean it up!!
5. I have one for Daisy, the queen of pull :o and she hates it. I've only used it a few times, but maybe i'll try it again.
6. Gooey, no. She wasn't a rescue. I got her from a co-worker who breeded one time. I am hopeful that what I am doing now maybe working, at least a little. Alicat, I saw that site, and I already made a call to the vet in Media, PA, but just left a detailed message. I guess I will hear from her on Monday. I gave Daisy a yam and yogurt breakfast sprinkled with slippery elm and a little EN on top. Yesterday she had rice and ground beef. She is in heaven!! She really loves the yogurt. She did poop (on the newspapers - she knows bynow) sometime over night, and my husband cleaned it up. So I have to wait until he gets up to ask if it was firming up or bloody. I hope this is all working, if not, she is atleast enjoying her meals (not that she didn't before, she's a LAB of course - - EAT - EAT - EAT :o ) Thanks
7. Way to go 2MALTESE :B-fly:
8. A big WELCOME! Holz_n'_Boomer Glad to have you aboard!!
9. You and Rocky will be together again one day......
10. I just bid on a book called NATURAL HEALING FOR CATS AND DOGS by D. STEIN. I figure there is a lot of information in it that I can use for Daisy. Thanks for the info. I think I read the same site.
11. I'm okay, not emotional. (only towards my husband* ) I gave her some and she loved it. I just don't know how much of the slippery elm to give her??? *He knows me too well! There's no way I can do nothing!
12. Alicat613 if you are out there, do you know how much slippery elm to give Daisy? I took your advice and bought some, but I don't want to overdose her. Thanks
13. Just bought acidophilus yougert and slippery elm. I think I'll add lots of rice to her dinner too. Thanks Roo! (I also have a call into a holistic vet, but haven't heard back from her yet.)
14.
You might want to contact IMOM
I think I did contact them a couple of years ago when we were really at our wit's end! They turned us down...... I'm going to try the yogurt for now.
15. She has been to the vet, and just came back about 10 days ago from being hospitalized. I already called our vet and they gave me names of a specialists. Unfortunately, they only work M-F????? I think I can sustain her until Monday, and then I'm going to take her either to Wilmington or the University of Penn? Or maybe to the holistic vet.
16. Daisy is taking a turn for the worst, and my husband said he is "not putting any more money into her." "She is just a dog." :x She is pooping blood again and I don't know what to do for her :( I have some meds left from before she went into the hospital and I started to give her them again (just to bind her) and I am making more rice..... other than that, I don't know what to do!! Maybe if I tell him I will divorce him (only kidding) he will stop this crazy talk!!! I think we need to take her somewhere else, like a specialist, but there is no way we will be able to afford that!! I'm going to go back and read the post about her before, but does anyone know of a natural binding agent I can give her??
17. That was very nice.....
18. Maybe if you stopped calling him Stupid, he wouldn't respond to it!
19.
We live in an area that gets hurricanes and tornadoes regularly (we were narrowly missed by a tornado just last night
Are you in Georgia? I just heard a few people died due to a tornado over there. My kids are starting to worry about the war. When all this first started, my husband ran out to get the water and duct tape, but that kind of fizzled out. We are living as usual. (K, we have so much dog food too!! The dogs are more prepared than we are  )
20. Both of mine, especially Chelsea (WHO IS AFRAID OF EVERYTHING) run as soon as I turn it on!!
21. Hip Hip Hooray!!!  Glad she's home!!
22.
As you may know, Flat Coats are very rare, and these hard-to-find, very expensive puppies would almost certainly never find their way into a shelter.
It sounds like they don't give them up very easily  I know for sure now, that Chelsea is NOT a flat coat. But, you never know what yours could be mixed with..... sometimes.... the gate just gets left open
23. Wow Casie, thanks for all the information. I think I am making the right decision too. I think I will stick with the two I have for now, and not actively pursue a another dog at this time. Thanks again to all of you for your input. :-?
