4. OK, SOME PEOPLE HAVE RESPONDED TO MY CROSS POST, PLEASE ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS A.S.A.P.! 1 . "Nobody..." Posted by Sarah on Aug-21-03 at 01:01 PM (EST) will return our phone calls. Is this for real? 2 . "ugly hoax?" Posted by mama_jenn on Aug-21-03 at 04:24 PM (EST) I'm starting to wonder about this. Nobody answers the phones coonected to the #'s we were able to get. Nobody returns calls from messages left. I have emailed. I have called. I'm still waiting... People are WILLING and ABLE to help, but nobody is letting us know how to do so.
  5. To bad they couldn't say. :( You really never know what company. :-? I hope it was OK that I cross posted this.
  6. Well, why Sable, Winnie, and I were at state fair competing in 4-H, we went to see a flyball demonstration. Sable watched it and shook with excitement (and I think a little fury at other dogs doing something so fun!) and a little yipping went on. So after, I went and asked the lady about it, and my mom asked her if Sable could try it and she said YES! :D So the first time she loaded the box, Sable just went up there and pulled the ball out, but the next time we showed her how to hit it and from then on she ALWAYS hit the pad! :D :D (in fact the very next time, she had figured it out so well, that she just took one paw and hit it in the exact place needed.) So we started working one jump, two, three, until we were at the starting line. She did all the runs perfectly! She was as good as the dogs who were doing the demo! (maybe better  ) It was very awesome. So we went back and watched the "competition" (just to show people what it's like, not really a competition) and Sable was barking along with the dogs, and whenever the guy said GO(!) Sable would pull on her leash. The lady said she had NEVER seen a dog learn so fast, but a person there said theirs learned that fast. The people also asked me where I lived, because they said that they would snap us up in a minute to be on their team. But, that was in salem (2 1/2 hours from here  ). I'm not the only one who was bummed that their are no flyball teams here. Sable was to! :(
  7. Do they have more health problems than other breeds? :-?
  8. Sometimes Sable doesn't eat her food. Some of the things that I think cause it are: Heat Just not hungry Doesn't like the brand (if you have changed) Sick of that dog food, but after a few days it sort-of tastes new Is Asting a picky eater? I know Sable is a VERY picky eater though if there is something new on the food, she will eat it. (usually)
  9.
I've had mutts & purebreds - I have to say I favor mutts. I've had some great ones.
Mmm... I've never thought about that. I currently have a purebred lab (Winnie) and a mixed breed (Sable=the ACD/BC cross). (their pics are in my signature) They are both wonderful in their own ways. Sable is the more serious obedient, but Winnie is more playful and loving. (she also learns a lot faster) So I'm not sure if I like mixed breeds or purebred better. :-?
  10. Never heard about this before :o are they born with a closed ear or do they get it?

  12.
Hmm.. It isn't the same place.. I wonder who it is then??
Huh?
  13.

"get them excited" oh no thats the worst thing to do
I guess that comment was made assuming it was obedience showing in which case it is the right thing to do !! :-? But obviously you would want a nice calm pooch for breed showing ........wouldn't you ?
I don't understand why you would get them excited even for obedience, because when both my dogs get excited, they totally ignore me.
  14.
I was wondering how old you are?
I am 14, why the  ?
Although I'm kind of against Dog shows and fairs, but I dont see the harm in your case since it was all in good fun!
Well, I guess I should have said this was a 4-H event. So it probably doesn't classify as a real "dog show".

    Fair!

Well our county fair was last Tuesday through today! Sable, Winnie and I competed and did pretty good! Yesterday, Winnie and I did showmanship, and we got reserve champion in our class (intermediate experienced) then they had the champion class (with at least 20 dogs) and we got reserve GRAND champion! :D (after that was the fun stuff  ) Next, we did (with both dogs) costume (Winnie was a bee and Sable a ladybug), tricks (they put the dogs on the news doing their tricks :o ), and agility  . I also took a dog facts test. Then today... we got the results from our test and I was the champion of my age group :o :o (I was also the only one who even did good enough to qualify for a champion :o :o :o ) And the prize was a dog bowl  ( I love practical prizes) Then Winnie and I did novice obedience (which includes off leash) and Winnie had other ideas about what she wanted to do. (I don't blame her one bit!) So we didn't do to well in that. BUT... then Sable and I did the sub-novice and she did great! We were tied with another girl, so we had a run off and (drum roll please) WE WON! :D :D :D And it's Sable's first show EVER! (unless she did it with her other owner, but I seriously doubt it) And the prize for that was a very cute jewelry box (with dogs on it of course) So, we all had a lot of FUN which is the MOST IMPORTANT PART. 8) And we are all going to the state fair to compete (Lord willing) :o :D :D :D

  17. Wow, such a horrible story. :x Great job on rescuing her! Are you fostering her? Or do you volunteer at save-a-pet? (great name for a shelter!)
  18. Then, Happy Birthday!! to yours also :bday:
  19. Last night we had a HUGE thunderstorm. :o I HATE thunder and lightning. Sable started barking a little, and mom went and let her out, but then she didn't want to come back in (maybe she had to go potty really bad  ) One thunder shook the house and rattled the windows :o So much for a nice nights rest  We have had a pretty dry summer :( I like rain better.
