1.
Ok, so this cat escapes.. But it did not harm anyone, just scared them? The same thing happens with Pit bulls!
But would a Pit need dozens of EXPERIENCED care takers or what not to trap it and bring it home to safety? What about the tranquellizers (sp?) you would need to trap the animal? The crate, the transportation? IMO, I'd feel safer knowing there was a Pit running loose than a TIGER. :-? Another thing I was wondering.. what about the wild instincts that are still there in the animal? Maybe I missed the answer somewhere back there, but I was wondering how you deal with hunting instincts and such?
2. Still sticking by what I said, wild animals should stay in the wild. Just wanted to say, Shara you have made some excellent posts me dear! :)
3.
I don’t think there should be regulations about owning a wolf. I think it should not be allowed full stop. Wild animals are wild and should stay that way. This is my opinion on all wild animals not just wolves.
Ditto! I don't see why people feel the need to own wolves? :-?
4. Welcome, Rave. :) I'm owned by an almost four (gulp) year old Golden Retriever, Rowie. Hope you enjoy the dogo family!
5. Happy Gotcha day, Bozy! :drinking: Cody is adorable, too ^_^.
6. Wow, I miss that "little" furball! You BETTER post pics, or you'll be sorry, missy!
7.
whoa! sounds like she could use a vacation from life right about now. can you do anything to help her cope?
Nothing more than give her a shoulder to cry on, I'm not sure what to do, really. I suggested a memorial for her dog, Sasha. Just something to remember her by I guess?
8. [Sorry, had to edit this out due to privacy reasons.]
9. Worst news ever. Her dog passed away this morning. :( I feel horrible for her, she also had to put down her Belgian Shepherd earlier this year. She's devestated. She called two different vets, one told her to give her glucose water (which her dog refused to drink) and the other said they were far too busy to take the dog in. She decided to search some sites and take care of her dog herself, unforunately Sasha (the dog) got sicker and sicker overnight and finally passed away in the morning. I have no idea what caused this as it was so sudden. I feel so bad for the dog and the owner, Sasha was so young. Thank you all for your help!
10. My friend's dog has been vomiting blood, but stopped about 15 mins. ago. She (the dog) hadn't eaten anything since the morning. Apparently, she suddenly lost all this weight (is that possible?) and her fur is falling out. My friend's dad is out, her mom can't drive so there is no way to take her to the vet. That is all the info I have for now, any ideas on what could have caused this? My friend is on the verge of tears.
11. Most welcome, Abs. :) AniaiSalma, not so sure about that, sorry. Maybe someone living in the UK can help?
12. Beautiful dog! :) She has a very narrow muzzle now, and I may be taking a stab in the dark but could she have Pharoah Hound somewhere in there? That's what I thought of, looking at the pictures.
13. Great pics! :D Wow, the variation is amazing.
14. So glad she wasn't hurt! Too bad she's 2 inches shorter.
15.
Mouse, what's a "pet passport?" Can you explain this to me more? I thought that all dogs coming into the UK had to be quarantined for 6 months, no matter what.
Not quite sure about the whole concept, but from what I understand, if a pet has a "pet passport" it means it has already done all test and is vaccinated and is allowed into the UK without the 6 months quarantine. I think only a few countries have this program, not sure though.
16. We have a member here, Kat, who is going to move with her dog to the US to start a new life with her dog, too! :) Although she is going to go to the US and not the UK, I'm sure she can help you out. Welcome to Dogomania!
17. I hope they're unique names, I love unique names!
18. That was hilarious! I love Nigel & Sola's adventures, hope ya stick around and welcome!
19. Mouse, I am so sorry. We are here for you if you ever need to talk. RIP, Gladis!
20. I'm not Pit expert, so maybe I have no right to talk, but isn't there something working "against" the dog? Esp. with a muzzle on, wouldn't it be harder for the dog to wrestle allowing you to test for gameness? I hear they do this with dogs in Japan, too. Does anyone have the link? I'd really like to see a Dogmen's POV on this, too. :) Sounds interesting.
