:D :lol: Hey, thanx guys! :D :lol: I've been wondering what to do for a long time! THANK YOU CAROL, JACSMOM, AND HOBBIT! ALSO THANX EGG FOR POSTING THE Q'S! :D :D Where's that huging icon when you need it? Results: I tried it on Rowie..GREAT IMPROVMENT! First I tried the apple thing, WORKED GREAT! Then we went out to the garden(with the leash of course!) and i started the exercise...she did wonderfully! She now mostly responds to me when i say "LEAVE IT" and if not, I always have those apples handy!!!! :D Thanx again! I really appreciate it! :D Jacsmom: Yup, youve gotta love those Labs 'N Goldens! :D

:o Egg, I cannot believe how much u r like me! I have the same prob! What dog food? Rowie was on Eukanuba...but..well u know about Eukanuba..then, I switched to this brand that's called "Nutrience" or som'n like that...and WOW is it good! I mean her coat, after 3 days, was thick, healthy, glossy and soft. Her skin is OK too! I'm really happy exept for one thing... Under Rowie left armpit there is no hair....? The skin is kinda loose, and seems to have some kinda thing like earwax on it? The other side is OK, exept it doesn't have that much hair either? When I got her, she had been worse...parts of her coat had no hair AT ALL! I switched to the brand I mentiond and VIOLA! It's great! But the only part left is her armpit. :cry: I'm REALY worried :cry: What to do? Takin her to the vet tommorow for a check-up anyway :-? Hope everythi'n is fine....keep her in ur prayers! :cry:

:D GOOD :D Now Eggrolyn1223 and Ihave an answer to the chewing.... But what about the biting? :-? I really dunno WHAT to do.. You see before we ACTUALLY got her, we had to keep her at a foster home cuz we didn't move in to the house yet. Everytime we went to visit, she would bite, bite, BITE! Now when I say bite, I don't mean the tearing meat off kinda thing, I mean just mouthing, but when she REALLY means it, IT HURTS! :cry: When we finally moved in, she cooled off a bit, BUT now that school started, she DOES get too exited(if ya know what I mean). So, Iv'e been trying a few techniques...when she starts, I hold her muzzle, tell her to sit, then say loud N' clear...NO! Sometimes it works....most of the time...IT DOESN'T! :evil: :cry: Then (if it doesn't work) I say it again, and then give her a slight smak on her rear, a tap actually, and say more effectively, NO! After that she puts up her paw, as if she wants me to forgive her, and I do..if I pet her directly after that, she starts biting me...as if "oh, she forgave me, now I can bite some more!". And then I HAFTO START THE WHOLE PROCEDURE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! :x I really love that pup, and as if she hasn't got a TUB full of toys! Urghhh.. This is first time I ran across a prob like this! :-? What should I do expertee's? :wink: HELP! Oh, and the 2 things that trigger her "biting machine" on, are.... If I wave a sheet or towel, she will bite the towel then directly to my hand or foot she goes! The second thing..If we r away TOO long(wich we don't do that often exept when traveling), we walk thru the gate, she runs, jumps on us, then, chomp, chomp.. :cry: AGian...HELP! Thanx :D

:o I'd love to help you but the prob is my dog does the same! She bites and chews! I was afraid to say afraid that ppl might attack me saying I wasn't taking good care of my Rowie-Pooh! :D I DO! :( I can't wait for answers cuz im DYING to know what to do! :oops: Other than that she's the greatest pup in the world!(oh, I mean to me!) :D :lol:

:o Talk about giving the breed a bad name! :o My bet is that it is either under socialized (from what I see, the owner seems to be PRAISING the dog after the fight! :o ), or that this dog is the result of a backyard breeder or a puppymiller or it is a petshop pup. :cry: It's sad that it happned...Goldens are really sweet dogs...I should know i have one! But it just all goes to say that it's not the BREED of dog, just it's deed(or if the owner socializes it properley enough!) :lol:

:( I'm afraid I mus agree with Hobbit. EVERYTHING Hobbit said was true :( I'll put it this way for you. It's like your a little girl, lets say 7, and your friend from ANOTHER school invites you to her Birthday Party. You go, all happy, but you suddenly realize that YOU DON NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT KNOW ANYONE THERE! You are shy, and stay back at the corner, then you see you friend(who invited you to the party), happy, you go to her and stick to her like glue, you hafto, u dunno anyone there! Soon she gets fed up and tells you to leave her party JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE SHY, DIDN"T KNOW ANYONE, AND STUCK TO HER LIKE GLUE! How would you like that? Your friend tells you" please understand, but I don't like it when you shadow me, I don't mind it *MUCH* but, you over did it. PLUS you kept going to he bathroom every minute." DUH I WAS SHY! you think as your mom enters the driveway to ur house. You NEVER talk to ur friend again and get a BETTER friend. Now put that in DOG terms, the little girl at the party was ur pup, and YOU were the friend WHO RUDLEY AND MEANLY BETRAYED HER! Please don't get me wrong, but i hate it when ppl do this!!!! :evil: Liten to what I hafto say, and then after you get RID of her and decide to get A NEW BETTER dog, think of these words," When you buy or adopt a puppy or dog, you become RESPONSIBLE for him/her. You are now the PACK LEADER. You are in charge of feeding, cleaning, giving shelter, grooming, etc.etc. You ALSO must be prepared for problems. Housebreaking, gladder infection, pregnacy, etc.etc. You must ALSO be prepared for losing alot of Cash, Some ppl spend 1000$ a year for a dog. All in all you must be prepared to LOvE! " That is just a portion of the care you need to take care of a dog. Did you reseach the breed? Did you read ALOT about dogs? Did you keep in mind the problems you were going to face? If you DO decide to "get rid" of her,(you really should have said, find her a better home, she's NOT a TOY!", then think how HURT she will be, while you are sitting on the couch, reading, thinking what a RELIEF it is not to have "the shadow" any longer, she is at the pound or at her new owners house thinking"what did I do wrong?". Also, by getting RID OF her, she will be MORE likely to develop problems, like sepration Anxiety and etc. Making her NEW owners get RID of her too, and straight to the pound she goes and in goes the injection then what? NO, she will not wake up, she will be DEAD just because she LOVED you and YOU couldn't tolarate it! Now, im sure, all of you are thinking "wow she took THAT seriusly" im sorry BUT i can't handle it when ppl go and "adopt" a puppy then go and say to ppl "it;s loving me too much", if that pup was mINE i wouldv'e been PROUD! :( :( [size=2]Sheesh, were did all THAT come from??!![/size] ANYWAY, THINK OF WHAT ALL THE MEMBERS AND GUESTS ON THE BOARD HAD TO SAY AND IF YOU"STILL" WANT TO GET "RID" OF HER THEN [size=7][color=red]DON'T[/color][/size] GET ANOTHER DOG, YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH!

SOME PEOPLE!!!!!!!! :evil: :evil: :evil: Did you know that a lion-tiger or Tiger-lion hybrid can't breed? Just like a mule! It's sad that they have "no room" for the animals, Lions and Tigers aren't ment to live toghether! :o I hate it when ppl say it's ok to crop! :o I'm like Mie-Mie and Bullboxers, I believe it IS a personal prefrence of the owner, BUT i would like to say somthing about guest's posts.... Guest, you say that we shoul crop ears cuz it bothers the dog later in life? Sorry, but I think that IS quite silly. So, what u r saying is I should go and cut my Golden's ears off cuz she has drop ears? Why is it that just the "dangerouse" dogs get cropped ears?! Cuz they have more "wolf" blood in them? Or is it cuz U guest, want them to look dangerous? Don't Dobe's, APBT's, and other "dangerouse" dogs have a bad reputaion already?! What's next? Chopping off poodles ears? Or what about Retrievers? Hm? Now, I don't want to start a fight about ears and tails or anything, BUT I am just giving an opinion, that is what this forum is for! Anyway, ppl who believe in cropping, I HOPE I DIDN'T ATTACK OR OFFEND YOU IN ANY WAY! :( I AM TRULEY SORRY! :cry: i was just giving my opinion.
