1. My favourite thing about BK, if I had to pick just one thing, would be his attitude: a seething mass of contradictions. He pretends to be tough but he's a sook inside. He likes to push his luck to the limit and it's amusing to watch him try it on when it's not your luck he's pushing. He's overjoyed to see you and then gets over it in five minutes and wants to go back to being tough dog again. He wants a pat and a belly rub, but doesn't want to get out of bed in order to receive it, so lies in his bed thumping his tail and looking cute, knowing you'll give in and go over to him. Everything has to be on his terms and while it can get annoying it's very endearing. The least favourite thing would be how he likes to hump other dogs at the dog park. The worst thing is he knows he's not allowed to do it but he does it anyway just to test the boundaries. Gah!
  2. hi! welcome back- hope you stick around. :D Love, The Bitch Who Causes Trouble.
  3. Oh bugger it. Here it is. (K remove it if you feel the need ok?) BE NICE. :P http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53650
  4. I've got the link and have read the ridiculous argument. Now I don't know if I should post it here or PM it to you guys....?
  5. Probably got to about 15C here today (we are in winter of course). Now it's bloody freezing, probably about 4C. It does get pretty hot here in summer too. We've had a few 45C days, yuck.
  6. Blitz is a sook but likes being a sook on his terms. For example, he's lying on his bed and he'll thump his tail like mad to get you to come over to him, but he doesn't deign to get up and actually have to come to you. If you give him a hug he'll nuzzle into the crook of your arm. He likes to sit in people's laps and being so leggy and not lap-sized, he looks so silly and uncomfortable doing it, but he still does it. He likes having some part of his body touching yours, eg if we're sitting on the couch he'll have a paw on my lap, or even outside he'll put a paw on my foot to stop me from running off without him. He absolutely loves having his ears rubbed and starts groaning with pleasure to the point of embarrassment.

    Wow...

I agree with Malamum. Don't want to open it? Nobody's standing there holding a knife to your throat demanding that you do, are they? (At least I hope not.) 8) I can't think of a time where anyone has been reprimanded, friend of K's or not, for asking too many questions.
  8.

Privacy fences, as you call them, are the norm here. And they are all at least 6ft tall, too. I'd find it really strange to have a see-through fence, a short fence, or no fence at all, in the backyard! :)
In my area too. I can't imagine walking out in your backyard and the neighbors are sitting there staring at you. Especially my neighbors with the pool. There is no way I want to see that guy in a bathing suit. :o
around here it's the law that if you have a pool you must have a privacy fence...
It's the law here that even if you have a "privacy fence" (as everyone does anyway), if you have a pool in your backyard, you must have an additional safety fence around it. But anyway back on topic- I'm with JM- who needs men when you have...

  10.

Thank you Malamum. Finally someone with a bit of common sense and a total lack of self-righteousness.
Now thats ironic to say the least
*edited because I don't stoop so low*
  11. Thank you Malamum. Finally someone with a bit of common sense and a total lack of self-righteousness.
  12. Meh, people. Unfortunately this guy (or the dog) will probably learn the hard way that his "perfectly behaved off leash dog" isn't a little angel. :-? I want to marry your son! He's got balls! :D
  13.   I think I've propbably told this story before but here goes: When my sister was younger she used pads, and after they had been used, wrapped them in loo rolll and chucked them in the bin in her room. My stepsister brought over her new boyfriend to meet everyone and he was, upon entry, confronted with BK out in the yard cavorting merrily with a used pad in his mouth, then proceeding to rip it to shreds with gusto. All I can say is glad it wasn't mine!!!
  14.
Although, whoever said (sorry, i forgot  ) that the EAD section is not the right place for this topic has a point...i don't think DAL meant for this to escalate in this manner, however.
I just wanted to point out that this is not the first time DAL has posted something looking for sympathy rather than honest opinions and arced up because some members' views don't concur with her own. Those threads have been in NDR, though, and the really nasty ones, as hillside said, were deleted some time ago. Anyone with any foresight would have seen that a thread on trying to garner support for "having" to rehome a dog she by her own admissions was trying to get rid of anyway would have escalated into what it is now.
  15.
I dont BK. that should have said "unless" instead of "until. for that I apologize. but by your own post you acknowledge that everyone's response to certain situations can be different...why cant DAL's?
Oh, I'm not getting her to give up her right to the way she feels. But my opinion concurs with Corrie's on this.
  16. courtnek, how do you know that hillside hasn't walked in DAL's shoes? How do you know any of us haven't? Perhaps not a divorce and maybe not to a person in the police/military, but a relationship breakup, or parents divorcing can be just as if not more traumatic and that trauma is entirely subjective. With all due respect it's not that simple. pyrless: and I would argue that posting this in the EAD section about THE DOG, yes concerning THE DOG, would get up the backsides of every dog owner and lover here who are primarily concerned about the dog's best interests, not the person's. Perhaps NDR would have been a more appropriate place to post if DAL was looking for some sort of support for her decision. You post in a public forum about your personal life and you open yourself up to criticism. That's how it goes.
  17. People aren't seemingly supporting your decision because of anything other than the dog's best interests, not yours. If you bring up something so controversial, expect people to disagree with your decision. There's really no point in me stating what I think of this as your decision has been made, suffice to say that I agree with most other people's opinions in this thread.
  18.
The harsh tone, and the way she says she has never made a mistake. What a lie.
Do NOT call someone a liar without any evidence to back it up. That is disgusting.
  19. Why don't you read K's posts CAREFULLY. she is not making a personal attack, she is merely using Crystal's previous posts and displaying the inconsistencies within. Why are you so up in arms about it? Please tell me exactly what you think is so harsh about K's posts. Not that K needs anyone to stick up for her, but you can't just state something and not be able to back it up.
  20.
I happened to think her posts were very rude. Crystal is having a problem here, why make it worse?
Have you actually read the thread???
  21. Yay! I hope he recovers quickly.
  22.
I'm still reading. I'm on page three, and I may add another post, but I must say... :o K, you are being extremely harsh.
K is not being harsh. She is merely pointing out the inconsistencies. They speak for themselves.
