I guess I should explain it huh? LOL

I have always made a point of never giving my dogs common human names. Alex came named, and that was ok, but laurel, well I have a friend named Laurel, and its just too human....

the only kinda human name I ever gave a dog was Jarvis (pretty much unused nowadays) because he was marked like he was wearing a tux, and reminded me of a butler...Jeeves would have worked too, but I liked Jarvis better....I prefer names of old Gods and Goddesses, sci-fi characters, or just plain weird, like Freebee and PushyC@t....

If I ever get another black c@t and its male, it will be named Spock...

my pet names as follows through many years:

Taurus (Golden, first dog)
Isis (black cat)
Luigi (foster tibetan mastiff, I didnt name him but if just fit)
Rassilon (foster IW mix, named after a sci-fi character)
Freebee
Alex (didnt mind that name, it seems to fit for a large powerful dog)
PushyC@t
Laurel (now Lore)
