Guest Anonymous Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 My 11 month old boxer is shedding so bad. Everything has hair on it. We were in warmer climate 2 weeks ago 60 degrees and now we are in WI. She is not scratching and its mostly in her hip area. What can be wrong?? Quote
ShatteringGlass Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 her coat is probably just adjusting to the temperature change. Get yourself a rubber curry brush and give her a good brushout. The more hair you brush out, the less hair in the house :D Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Hips are where most of the shedding is done, though i dont know why  If it's warmer now, she's probably just shedding her winter coat. Quote
DogPaddle Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Fur, flanks and spring. Ugh, don't remind me. I just hope its warm enough to brush Zaphod in the yard when he starts this spring. Sounds fairly normal, if there are no other symptoms I'd not worry. Quote
ObedienceGrrl Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 The big boys started about a week ago. It's not pretty in our house! Thank doG for the Cresteds!!!! Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I just love dog hair - with three dogs I get knee deep Quote
imported_Kat Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Meg at the moment is shedding like there is no end to her fur! Thanks to her prat owner keeping her in such wonderful condition  her coat isn't going to be in decent condition until a good few months yet I think. Quote
imported_Matty Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 I think a damp cloth or a hounds glove works great on short coated dogs. Also those shedding blades are great to use. If your concerned that it may be a medical issue then get a blood test done on your dog just to rule out Thyroid problems etc. It might ease your mind just to be sure. Quote
