Guest Mutts4Me Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 Last night, we took my dog of 12 years into the vet's office to have him euthanized. He has had health problems all of his life, and recently, his pain had become unbearable. I will miss him, but I'm so relieved that he is no longer enduring pain. A parking lot is where it starts A lonely pup and passing carts Mom brought him home to play And forever he would stay Our Midnight Bandit, thief of hearts July 25, 1991 - September 30, 2003 Quote
Carolk9s Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 Amber, I'm sorry to hear that your beloved Bandit is gone. You were his hero, I'm sure he is at the bridge and basking in the love he received from you, the love that will never die. Quote

Aonir Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 I'm so sorry about your dog... Your poem is very lovely though Have fun at the Bridge, Bandit! Quote
Guest Mutts4Me Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 Thanks everyone. Strange how all my "poetry" comes out in limerick form. I was really amazed by how quickly it happened. I guess it was nice, that he had instant relief like that. It was peaceful, too, which was a major relief for us, since we'd been warned that sometimes gasping and moaning occur. That would have been traumatizing. But it was peaceful, and he is at peace, whatever that may entail. I don't know if Sasha's aware of what's happened. There hasn't been any noticable change in her behavoir. Quote
Malamum Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 I am so sorry for you loss  rest in peace Bandit  Quote
Guest Mutts4Me Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 Oh yeah, the background of the collage is actually supposed to be bubbles, because ever since he was a puppy, Bandit always loved, more than anything, to chase bubbles. He'd soar up and pop them with a Snap :) Quote
behle Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 Amber, that was a lovely tribute to your best friend. He's running freely and waiting for you at the Bridge. Play hard, sweet Bandit! Quote
