Guest Anonymous
Click on this web site and take a quiz on how much you really know about dogs!! http://quiz.ivillage.com/pets/tests/knowdogs.htm
Not bad but I disagree on the word 'largest' as being a good test question for a dog breed - it can mean too many things. Your tag line could use improvement - while pitbulls are definitely too frequently owned by idiots <G> they are a product of their genetic heritage combined with training. You can put controls on but you cannot take drives out.
Guest Anonymous
I too disagree about the largest breed question... The tallest is the irish wolfhound The heaviest is the st. bernard/mastiff
Holz_Boomer
Me Too I disagree.I answered Irish Wolfhound cuz I knew that was the correct answer..Lafayette Kennels, I agree, St Bernard is the heaviest but Irish Wolfhound is the tallest. Guest Anonymous
actually as a breed the answer is St. Bernard but as individuals English mastiffs are bigger and the largest dog ever was Zorba and EM that was over 8 feet long from nose to tail and about 3 feet at the shoulder!!! Guest Anonymous
I don't agree with the largest breed to, I thought there was no doubt about the biggest breed :o
Guest Anonymous
if memory serves Zorba was the longest and the heaviest ever at 343lbs. but the tallest was a Great Dane named Shamget Danzac he was 3' 6" at the shoulder. I find it hard to comprehend dogs thats size i mean i thouht Daz was a monster but he is no where near these two. There is a guy up the street from me that has a EM, a beautiful brindle male he is about 230. it so funny o see because the guy drives this little datsun pick-up and the dog sits in the bed. his head over one side his tail over the other. when the truck is coming toward you you can see his head right over the cab. Its hilarious.
Lord_Pik
:o  30%...I must do research now!
courtnek
"biggest" was a bad choice of words - biggest as far as height, weight, width? oh well.... I did about 60% - I didnt know the heart and breathing stuff.....
Jerakeen
I scored 60% but it said there were 2 pages and I only filled in one. The questions are all irrelevant anyway as they seem to think all dogs are the same size! A chihuahua has a higher heart & breathing rate than a Great Dane etc so I wouldn't worry too much about your score. Bec
Lord_Pik
I think the second page was the scoring page, but either way..
DogPaddle
I think the questions miss some of the most important doggie stuff like how do you get a reluctent 85lb dog in the bathtub and how do you avoid caving into the "please mum" puppydog face. courtnek
LOL@DP!!! really! let's have a test on some of the things people really want to know!!
Prairie_Gurl
I got a 40%!!! *cry* I feel pretty stupid now. I had no clue with all that respritory and heart stuff. I also dissagree with the biggest dog question. You know, I was sitting there thinkin about what exactly it ment for like 5 min!!! Ok, more like 5 seconds but that's still a lot for me!! LOL. I agree that they should have REAL dog questions... how am I suppose to know how many times a dog's heart beats per min? I don't know about you but I don't sit around and listen to my dog's heart rate. LOL. Ok... I'm done now.
