1. I know, my mind is constantly being changed and altered...welcome to my life. Anyway, I was thinking and I'd really like to own a St. Bernard at one point in my life. They are such cuties!! Kevin is clinging to the Shiloh Shepherd pictures I have been showing him...we both want one of those!!
2. Ain't it the worst when it's your own family? I have so many relatives that feel the exact same way as your cousin. They absolutely need a wee little cockapoo or some other designer breed. I'm here for you if you ever need to vent. Maybe you could sit her down and very calmly explain to her the health risk and issues with buying a puppy mill pooch? I hope you find a way to work things out.
3. Seriously, I would be bloody PO'ed if Charlie were my dog! Poor you having to take off after someone else's little bum. Charlie sounds like a troublemaker! At least Kes was on her best behaviour!! :D
4. Oz and Gull are gorgeous!! I'd definitely love to own a Collie "before I die" as well. They seem like an amazing breed and I do hafta look further into them. Smooths are just as pretty as Roughs. :)
5. Just when I thought I knew what was going on...LOL I suppose the details have changed, but the situation is still the same. I know that Naomi was fabricating many of the things she told us but I've got track of it all. Would someone please summarize for me what's been happening?
6. I don't know what to say about all of this. :-? From the moment I joined Dogo, Naomi and I instantly became best friends. We both went through serious issues together, but I never thought anything of hers. I always took her word for them and assumed the poor girl had just been through a lot of crap in her life. When she first left, I kept thinking that I should e-mail her and see how she was doing. But I couldn't bring myself to do it. Why? I'm not sure...I just couldn't so I kept procrastinating. Now, I wish that I was still in contact with her so I could find out where she was moving and how her animals are. I defended her so many times; more times that I can count. I recall I also got into disagreements with a couple of members here regarding her broken marriage. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt...over and over again. I can't believe how bloody foolish I was. I just want to say that I apologize to anyone I 'stepped on' while trying to defend Naomi. I can't believe this is happening. Poor Cody, what did he ever do to deserve such a heartless owner? Now Zoey & all of the others are left to 'deal' with Naomi, unless she has plans to kill them off as well. :( I'd hafta agree that she does seem to have some sort of mental issue though. It is very peculiar when one day Justin is the devil & the next he is her prince; then he's an alcoholic, after he's not; and so forth. Perhaps many of those were made up in order to get attention? I can't think about this anymore...
7. Awww, those are the cutest pictures. Nikki is adorable!! I just want to pick her up and steal her away. You better watch it! :P
8. Yup, that looks to me like a White German Shepherd. We have family friends whom own two. I'll try and get a picture to compare. But please try and get us more pictures, ESS. That dog is adorable. :D
9. Tammy, I sincerely apologize for being so late. I, like the others, completely understand that you did what was in the best interests of your critters. You did the right thing! Hugs.
10. Yup, the media is crude. There's no doubt about it. They focus in on certain things & won't stop until they've beaten "it" into the ground. :-? Unfortunately, they have their eyes fixated on Pit Bulls. I always have the chuckle (or else I'd cry) when a Lab or a Spaniel attacks someone and there's not a story about it. Nevermind a head-line...bias, bias, bias.
11. How awful! I'm sending you positive thoughts, prayers and hugs. I hope that Gladis goes in peace. I feel for you and your husband. :(
12. I'm so glad to hear that your girls got home to you. :) But I'd hafta agree with the peanut gallery, there is definitely something fishy going on...
13. Uh...what the hell? http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory/dogs/5b226596-b3f1.aspx What bothers me on top of the basic attempt at a "rare" breed, is the fact that whom ever wrote this cannot even spell "miniature".
14. Whoa, that's great! Congratulations to both of you! :)
15.
I don't think it's particularly immature to express a reasoned opinion. It's not a personal attack based on stuff I don't know about; more an opinion I have come to seeing the drivel that has been posted on here, and nothing BUT the stuff that has been posted here. Really, it's a summation of what everyone else has been saying; I just put it a little more succinctly than others. I'm sick of meandering around the crux of what everyone else has been thinking and PMing and not actually writing. Sometimes stuff just has to be said.
No, you're not immature for stating your opinion. In my opinion, you were being immature by the way you went about it. Obviously I know you have never been one to tip-toe around people, but I think that was just wrong. On a dog message board, you don't just call some one an eff-ed up something or other. I'm not talking about your right to express your opinion. I believe that everyone has theirs. I'm referring to being polite & having manners. I've seen you be an angel, BK & I just never thought I would see you be that rude to a fellow Dogoer. I don't mean to create a ruckus, but I feel it was out of line & I'm not going to back down and say it was okay because you "had the right to your opinion". I believe you are brilliant, funny and witty, I would have never expected something so petty to come out of you. Please try to censor what you can. I'm worrying about everyone's feelings here. I understand your position and I understand Naomi's. Now, if you'd like to PM and speak to her...do so. But please, don't call her a name infront of the whole board.
16. I agree with you, Leah. :) However, many of the Dogoers charged towards Naomi with their horns aimed in her direction right off the bat. I know that possible harm to any type of animal is treacherous to us, but I think everyone needs to let Nay know that we're NOT attacking her. All she needs to know is that we're trying to help...not go on some "witch hunt". I hope that I'm not going to be persecuted for this. But I recall that Dogo has been very quick to jump into heated arguments recently. My only wish is that everyone takes a breather, thinks over what they are about to say & comes to Naomi as a concerned friend, as most of you have shown you were for the years you have known her. I also pray that Nay comes back to us because there are many Dogoers (myself included) who care for her deeply & don't want to see her leave us. Hugs to Naomi, if you are reading this.
17. I've also tried to stay out of this because it is such a hot issue now that I don't even know where to start. BK, I respect you entirely, especially in the Just us! usergroup. ROTF But I think calling DAL "one f*cked-up little girl" was pretty inappropriate. I felt that you were being fairly immature yourself by saying such a harsh thing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion -- but I just don't think that kind of insult should be said. :-? DAL, You know I love you. We've been friends since I got here & just recently we've become fairly close. As a friend, it'd hafta say that I'm worried about you. What you are doing just can't be rationalized. Please, feel free to PM and/or e-mail me when you see this.
18. Happy Birthday, BK. Have a good one!! :D
19. I will try my best to remember that its you. Now that you have it in your siggy, I'll remember a lot quicker. Hopefully.
20. I'm really sorry to hear of your loss, I know it must be very hard. May she rest in peace.
21.
It's a britney spaniel. I think she mentioned once that they've been/plan on taking the dogs to meet and sniff eachother so it won't be as hectic.
Sorry, sweetie, I don't mean to sound prissy but I believe that the dog breed you are referring to is called a "Brittany". When you say "Britney", that is the name of a human female, not the dog you are talking about.
22. Whenever we have guests at our house, Rory has decided that jumping up on them is the best way to say "Hello!" Now, this obviously isn't acceptable period. But because my in-laws are non-dog people, it makes matters even worse. My MIL lets out a shrill scream when Rory does it; she thinks she is going to 'eat' her. I'd say the best way to solve this problem is to ask my visitors to just turn away and ignore her behavior. Then later, only give her attention when she has all four paws on the ground. Though, I know many of you are about five times wiser than me, so I was wondering what you would do if you were in my position. Keep in mind that the guests ignoring her tactic might not work because of my MIL. It is almost impossible to keep that woman from screaming. She's a drama queen. :-?
23. How wonderful!! I know that you must be so happy, even if it were an extra day it would be something to be very thankful for. Carry on, Zoe! :)
24. How exciting! I'm so happy for you! Grendel is going to be very lucky to have a foster mom like you. Congrats to you & Grendel!!
25. Yeah, some parents are just dummies. They need to be yelled at in order to understand a simple concept. When that happens, I don't dislike the kids; I want to teach their parents a lesson. The other day I was walking Kyra & Rory when a little girl approached us. She looks at Rory and says, very loudly might I add to her mom, "Look, look, mommy, it's a doggy like Princess! I'm going to go pet her! Hi, Princess!" I told Rory to sit & thank goodness she listened. I motioned for the mom to come over as well. She gave me a funny look. I told her that Rory hadn't been socialized with her previous owners and doesn't know how to 'deal' with kids. The lady goes, "All dogs love kids!" I swear, I almost laughed in her face. What ignorance. I told her that her daughter could not pet Rory. The lady went on to say that I was rude and I had a ferocious, nasty dog that looked "evil". No, Rory isn't evil...but I'll go medieval on your ass if you don't get the hell away from me & my dogs!! Some people just shouldn't have kids...period. Exclaimation mark. The End.
