1. Good idea Dober. And in the mean time, keep her on leash ALL the time when she's not in her crate, even if your grandparents say its "cruel". She SHOULD NOT be off leash, even in the yard. Its far too risky, with as often as she gets out.
 2. So I come home today, greet the dogs and let them out on their tie outs (still don't have a gate for the yard). I go down to the basement and notice it stinks, walk into the computer room and find a big pile of dog poop. Okay, no biggie someone couldn't hold it, likely Riley or Chaos. I pick it up, go put it in the trash outside and a piece falls from the bag and onto my foot. Yuck. Clean my foot thoroughly, and go spray the floor with orange antibacterial stuff. Well that works... not. Now the whole room reeks of orange dog sh*t! Anyone know how to get dog poop smell out of the carpet?
 3. Bittersweet is right... Is there anyway you could check up on them perhaps? See the new owners, or that might be too hard? If it were me I don't know that I could do it.
 4.

bravo to the wonderful people who think they know everything from getting info off something they read.
If that was directed to me, I didn't meant anything by my last post, I just read the article previously and thought I'd throw it in. I wasn't in any way saying that gamebred dogs aren't stable.
it was directed at me  you couldnt pay me to take a pup from hmmm, i dont care how well bred your dogs are...i wouldnt support a dog fighter
Yeah but, don't you want a pup from Cold Steel pits? (Or like them anyway) As far as I know they don't fight, however they do have fighting dogs in their recent peds, is that really all that different?

 6.

Again bk I agree ... and the breed does not need to cease to exist. Just make sure you are breeding out human agression. They are a wonderful breed, my neighborhood has 3 sweet and gorgeous ones and I am sure that not one of them is "game tested".
Gamebred APBTs dont have problems with human aggression.
bullshizzle....there's a few man biters that were good fighters like garner's chinaman...he was a man biter yet still bred...ah yes bravo to the wonderful dogmen  http://www.sporting-dog.com/select-pages/chinamanstory.html i know there are more but i dont know the exact dogs....
http://www.sporting-dog.com/select-pages/indianbolio.html
When in the corner he would scream with rage until he was released into the other dog. Occasionally, he would bite you if not released quick enough.
The above sounds like re-directed aggression, where the dog is so fired up it may bite blindedly. Still not acceptable for the breed though...
 7.
I am sure this has been asked before, but anyway...why do we need "game" dogs? What is their purpose? Before you start rabbiting on about how there are lots of other dog breeds that have no particular purpose or are so far removed from their original purpose that it may as well not count, why do you need a dog-aggressive dog that you can't even keep legally in most parts of the world, or if you can keep them, are subject to so many restrictions it's not worth the effort? That if said dog makes one false move that may not be considered so bad in a different dog breed, it's curtains for that dog? That you have to keep separated from your other dogs, if you have them, most of the time? Why do you need a dog, if it is to be kept so true to the original intentions of the founders of the breed, needs to be *fought* to be considered worthy? Where is the allure in that?
Well, then why do we need dogs with herding instinct? Why should we preserve breeds like border collies with their natural instinct, even though that natural instinct is what makes them hard to own? We don't NEED such a high energy dog in this day and age, why not make a breed that looks like a border collie but can live perfectly happy in a tiny apartment with almost no excercise? Whatever breed you decide on, I think you should adapt to the needs of that breed, not the other way around. We don't "need" dog agressive or game dogs anymore than we need herding instinct in border collies, but that instinct is what makes the breed what it is. True fanciers can't imagine their breed any differenetly, they whole heartedly love it, even the "faults" like dog agression. They adapt to the dogs needs, whether it be keeping the dog away from other dogs, or making sure the dog has a good outlet for its energy. Dog aggression is NOT whats getting pit bulls banned, overbreeding and bad owners is.
 8.
Does "pulled" mean she was adopted? I always feel so bad for senior dogs who lose their homes. Or are given up.
Adopted or perhaps pulled by rescue and put in a foster home. Either way, thats great! I'm a softie for the seniors too. :D
 9. You forgot the main one... to IMPROVE the breed, which you cannot do if your dogs arn't proven.
 10.
The best we can do at the moment is to know your lines inside out and to screen your dogs for every problem possible, if this continued for enough generations hopefully some of the problems will die out.
I thought you said you don't test for hips since its not a problem in the breed? And personally I'd take one of Hmmm's healthy, great tempered, extremely well bred pups in a split second over M&V's thrown together pups any day. I may not always agree with what she does but I know any of her pups will be the best you can find.
 11.
In addition to that, REAL BREEDERS don't fight their dogs.
Nor breed a bitch under two years, right?
 12. I don't like banning the ignorant, because you never know, maybe they'll eventually see the light. However with this person, I doubt it. She/he's far too caught up in her/his idea that we're all trying to force out beliefs on them. So I'll put in a third vote.
 13. Nice sidetepping the question. You have had a litter in the past, right? I don't understand why you would want to breed less than an exceptional dog. Why? You can't better the breed if you don't know the quality of your breeding stock, and to do that you have to compare them to others of the same breed. You should be breeding because you love the breed, obviously you don't. I can and will label you a BYB.
 14. Yup, sounds like he's being a bratty puppy and needs some reinforcing that you're alpha. Spanking won't do anything, because he won't know what he's getting punished for. Dogs are NOT humans in furry suits, they're dogs and deserve to be treated like what they are.
 15. Poor Kes! Can you give her canned pumpkin? Its supposed to be great for clearing up wet poops.
 16. That's the way it SHOULD be! :D
 17.
It seems like the trend for many breeders today is to recreate the origional English Bulldog.
There's already recreated bulldog breeds, the ancestors of the pit bull WERE the dogs that brought down bulls. Afterwards they were crossed with terriers and made smaller for the pit. The American Bulldog was created by people who crossed the English Bulldog with the APBT, and probably Boxers too to get the original bulldog look except larger and heavier (usually) than the APBT.
 18.
But hes not crossbreeding with no reason or simply money in mind as the maltypoo and goldendoodle people do...hes attempting to re-create an extinct breed....but I agree you are entitled to your opinion and its a valid point...
I don't see any health testing. Again maybe its not listed, but that should be a HUGE priority with the breeds he's crossing, since all have a high instance of HD. I will admit though I'm quite taken to Hannah, she's pretty.
 19.
Oh lordy...not this again too...whats happening? If anyone wants to see the original Bullenbeiser( Banter Bulldogge or BullBoxer whatever you wish) being re created.. http://www.pulldoggies.com/welcome_to_pulldoggies_kennels.htm Todd is a really nice man and has helped me with several placements of these...'types' of dogs in the past...
I don't see how you could support breeding crossbreeds, especially now. I'm glad they work their dogs, all the more power to them but I won't ever support crossbreeding when there's absolutely no need for it. Whatever, just my opinion. If you call bull boxers a breed, whats to stop the goldendoodle people from calling theirs a breed too?
 20.
And Bull Boxers. Do Bull Boxers have much in common with these other breeds?
Bullboxers are MUTTS, therefore you can't say what they have in common with purebreds considering they have no standard. They're simply a cross between either an APBT and a boxer or an american bulldog and a boxer.
 21. I don't see any titles on the dogs, maybe they're just not listed. They say they do health testing, though checking the OFA database only one of their females is listed. None of the others have OFA scores on their pages either, whihc I would then assume means they arn't checked. I don't know, send them an email and ask why they don't have titles (aside from GCG's) or OFA scores?
 22. I think it means that her username was deleted like she requested. She also edited all her posts I just noticed.
 23. Censorship... NOOOOOO! :o I think K and the mods run dogo perfectly fine. We rarely have disagreements, and when we do most of us can go back to being friends a day later. What works for one board doesn't for another. But personally, I would NOT stick around on a board where I wasn't allowed to speak my mind when it was justified. I guess we're not gonna get an answer on where Moose came from. :( Poor dog.
