CHRISTMAS!!wat's on ur list? got any plans?
ellieangel replied to Holz_Boomer's topic in Everything about dogs
Oh Court my Christmasses were crap too until I had my own kids. :( Even when I left home it was horrible,I remember one year my boyfriend and I had been over to Mums on the 23rd to see Lannie (she was about 5),I had bought her one of those Fisher Price tape players/recorders and my boyfriend (who was a DJ) had made her up a mix tape and we had bought her some blank tapes to mess about with. Anyway we were sat at the table in the back room when my Stepdad comes home,I was ignored (used to that :( ) but I thought no more of it. Anyway the next day (Christmas Eve) I phoned Mum and said could I please come for Christmas dinner the next day as I had nowhere to go,boyfriend was spending the day with his kids and I was only 17 and lived in a crappy old bedsit on my own. Anyway she said "I don't think that would be a good idea" I said "Why ?", she said "because you've upset Keith (stepdad)" I said "how ?" (I couldn't believe what I was hearing I hadn't even spoken to him,he came in drunk(as usual) and ignored me and went in another room. She said " he wanted to spend some time with Lannie on her birthday and you and Steve were playing with her when he got home so he couldn't" What complete bullsh!t ! he had been out all day at the pub, while Mum had struggled to give her a party with her friends. I was a bit of a doormat in those days  so I just kinda said ok then and left it.I was so upset though :( I could never treat one of my kids like that. Anyway on a lighter note I suddenly found that Christmas with my own kids was magical in its own way and now I love it :) -
I'm glad she is on the mend :)

Oh DAL you are having a crappy time of it aren't you (((hug))) :( There's no point in me saying don't worry because you will, sending you positive thoughts and loads and loads of hugs. Also I think SL could be right in saying your dogs can sense your pain too :( -

That is wonderful Courtnek,I sometimes feel my bond with Rio is even stronger because he is fearful and yet trusts me completely. She knows that you are her protector, and that is a massive step in the right direction :)
I can't keep her because I don't have the time that she deserves to get from me,
Make time
I am expecting a child, so it would be unfair to her
. Why do you have dogs then ? If you knew one day you would have a family and not be able to cope why did you get them ? What is unfair is that you have what is commonly known as "disposable dog" syndrome.
She is beautiful, black, Staffordshire terrier. She is 50 lbs, trained, spayed, lovable and friendly.
If she really is this well behaved then why can't you keep her ? Why not come on here and ask for advice on how to cope when the new baby comes ?? I hope and pray that this lovely girl will find a loving and deserving home you really owe her that much at least.
