Guys..... Ignore..ignore..ignore. If you feed it, it will grow.

Can be good and can be bad but unfortunatly it depends on the owner of the dog to decide which it is for them and as we all know there are a lot of stupid dog owners out there. My dog is very dominant towards other dogs so I keep him away from off-leash areas - it's just not fair on the other dogs and owners.
-
Congratulations - that is fantastic news.

Whoo hoo! We made the Obedience world championships!

Wow, that is fantastic!!! Keep us posted a bit closer to the event - unfortunatley we don't get much stuff like that on telly over here :-? -
Good luck Paddy. Mouse - have you decided to stop showing him?
-
Ok, I'm going to bite - tell us why  I have been reading along but haven't added anything since I thought everyone else had given you great advice. I don't think anyone was mean at all - just honest based on the information you had provided.

I give it all year round. Where I am it doesn't get cold enough in winter for there not to be mosquitos.
-
Guest, we are not mind readers you need to let us know what your intentions are  Otherwise when we assume we generally assume for the worst

I got Indy a new ball - it's like a basket ball with rope handles poking out in four different spots. He actually saw me bring it inside and got all excited. I felt bad about putting it away and not giving it to him  He is also going to get a MASSIVE bone on christmas day - should keep him occupied most of the day  . I normally get the butcher to saw the cow thigh bones in quarters for him but this time I only got them to do in in half so the thing is massive.

Why do people have to stick their noses into other peoples lives and tell them what "they" think is right. :x What business is it of any of these people to tell someone else that they have too many dogs. :x The way I see it is that these people are lacking and unhappy in their own lives so they have to put down someone who is so obviously happy (with lots of dogs how could you not be) to make themselves feel better.

anyone know how to teach a deaf dog tug of war??

Indy is not too fussed by the christmas tree but I know some people put car mats upside down under the tree. They use the ones with the little plastic spikey bits on the bottom and as the dog won't like to walk on them they apparentley stay away from the tree. I haven't need to try this myself so can't really say how well it works- but just a suggestion. -
Thanks Kiwi. You really do learn something new every day. I wasn't aware they should be tested for HD.

What about using a nice ottman (sp?) that is about half the size of the bed. Place it right next to the bed so Miles can jump from the bed to it first then to the floor. It will also look nice - just part of the furniture.

Indy loves to play with empty soft drink bottles too, but after about half an hour they are totally crunched and mangled :-?

Give us an update BK. Are you going to take her????

Yay, superstar Hippo!! Love the picture.

Can anyone tell me what health checks are normally done on Staffordshire Bull Terriers prior to breeding. I've been doing a bit of research and have found info stating they are checked for Hip and Elbow Dysplasia and have eye tests to check for any eye abnormalities, such as Juvenile Cataracts I didn't realise that Staffy's were prone to HD. Is that correct?

Brenda, Indy's birthday is June 21 - he is not quite 18 months yet, but close enough.

Stories like that always amaze me. I just love hearing them.

One 18 month old Alaskan Malamute named Indiana here.

Yay - that's great news. :D

CHRISTMAS!!wat's on ur list? got any plans?
Malamum replied to Holz_Boomer's topic in Everything about dogs
I love Christmas. Michael and I aren't really going to get each other presents this year. We really want a digital camera so are probably just going to buy one that that will be a joint present to ourselves. We have also asked for a good set of knives and some camping stuff from our parents. My younger sister has been in Spain for the past year and is getting back on Christmas Eve. I am looking forward to seeing her again. We tend to do the rounds on Christmas and sometimes feel we spend most of the time in the car  . We are hoping to cut that down a bit this year but here is what our plans are. I'll probably spend the day of Christmas Eve at my parents catching up with my sister. Then on Christmas Eve we are all going to Michael's parents place. On Christmas day rather than rushing out first thing like we normally do I think Michael and I will relax and spend some time at home together. Then for lunch we are going to his sisters place and then for dinner we will drive up the coast to one of my Auntie's houses to spend some time with my family. -
It's great that Laurel and Freebee are getting along so well - even if they are getting into trouble together

Poor little thing. I'm so glad she now has someone to take care of her.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about Ruby. You have already made such a difference to her life and I'm sure you will make her last months the best she has ever known. I will be thinking of you both.
