1.
Secretariat was pretty much a dud as a stud.
True. BUT his daughters are pretty good producers. And one of the better QH studs around here couldn't out run ME. But his offspring sure are runners!
2.
 Yes it would be possible, also possible for some traits to be not exactly like either dog or partway inbetween. Hmmm - jack russel legs, border collie fur, jack russel brain, border collie intensity etc would be a strange dificult little dog.
Not only that, but it would probably either try to herd rats or kill sheep. :D  :roflt:
3. Are you still wanting to get a Dal AND a Border Collie? If that is the case, maybe you should do like you were thinking before and get one as a puppy and one from a shelter. IF, on the otherhand, you have decided to get just one, then you have to do what your head and heart tell you. And don't forget, you may not have to deal with the pooping puppy part, but you MAY get a pooping adult instead :o which is MUCH worse. AND, no puppy breath or smooth, soft puppy tummy.
4. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!! What about the fact that some of the best racehorses AND performance horses have a sire and/or dam that have NEVER done anything? I think the person that told you that has beed doing a little too much
5. Would you be able to take a cute little puppy, treat it as your our, take it EVERYWHERE with you, love it, train it, and then GIVE IT BACK at 12 to 18 months? If you got your OWN dog, why not show AND agility?
6. Bet you didn't plan on useing your "sick day" to wash your sheets. :D
7. Your vet and Jan are right. Like Jan said, Just ask people not to pet her right away. Also. When you do let people pet her, have Duck "sit". (Makes it harder to pee when she is sitting.)
8.
Am I the only one who thinks that too many people are using those halter type collars as a "crutch", and not bothering to actually train the dogs? :madgo:
NO. you are NOT the only one that thinks this way! :D
9. Dogpaddle, The CKC they are refering to could be the Continental Kennel Club (If it even still exists.)
10. Here is another one!!! :evilbat: TWO year old Male Rottweiler. The meaner the better. Must be in the area of Central Florida. The dog will NOT be used for protection. The dogs training doesn't matter, but it would be nice if he got along with horses. Dogs more than $1,000 will not be considered. This is a "want" ad from an online site. What kind of IDIOT is SHE!!!!! :bad-words: :chainsaw1:
11.
Thanks Black GSD I always get that bit mixed up
No problem. I just figured it out myself right before I posted that. :D
12. Pacific time U.S.A. is GMT "Minus" 8 hours. Which means that Eastern time is GMT Minus 5. :D
13. Nancy, That is what I figured! I wouldn't expect any other answer from a TRUE Dobe person. :D
14. Thanks Nancy! I thought of you too when I was posting this question. Glad you saw it. Like I said,I figured it was for all breeds. Sure did look different to see the Giant Schnauzer with a long tail and natural ears. (Of course I have seen them with natural ears before but never a natural tail.) I HAVE seen a natural eared and tailed Dobe though. Sure did look different. No offense but it reminded me of a slight built B+T Coonhound. :D Here is a question for YOU: Do you think that you would have ended up a "Dobe Person" if they had always been natural eared and tailed? I mean lets face it. Usually one of the things that draws folks to "their" breed in the first place is the looks. (I am NOT saying that is the only thing.)
15.
Actually rotties have LONG tails when thay are born and there are some contries that keep em that way. Usually they are docked at the 3 or 4th vertebrae.
Here is a question for you. I saw somewhere that in Germany they are no longer supposed to dock tails on Giant Schnauzers. Is this true for ALL breds including Dobes and Rotts? (I would imagine that it is ALL breeds, but you never know.) I haven't seen any Dobes or Rotts that are young imports. (As in born after this rule.)
16. I don't have any hard feelings against ANY breed. Only "bad owners". (Please don't think I am talking about you.) Good for you for sticking with it no matter what others say. Here is a question for you. What are the main differences between the Canary Dog and the Cane Corso? I really know nothing about them. Have seen pictures in mags and online but have not done any research on either breed. It seems to me that they look quite a bit alike. Are they closely related? Or is it just coincidence? PLEASE enlighten me. :D
17. Another thing about these. If the battery goes dead. IT doesn't work (DUH). And, since you said that you have a regular fence that the dog is escaping from, keep in mind that the invis fence requires a collar with a transmitter. Just something else for your dog to get hung up on.
18. I agree with BK. Invisable fences are a JOKE. :evilbat:  Better to just fix your regular fence. also if you do have an invis. fence and the dog does get on the other side of it, they cannot come back into your yard.
19. Hobbit, What breed/breeds do you have? The dog in the Avitar looks like a Kelpie (though it can be hard to tell from the small size of the pictures. ) And seems like you are pretty anti cross breeding of Border Collies (With good reason). (Or is that someone else?) Anyway, just curious. :D
20. I really love the way they say that HD is really not a problem in the Doberman. Yet most of their stud dogs are only OFA Fair. And they don't even do the bitches.
21. So are you still going to name your new boy Tres? Do you have any new pictures of him? Also, just curious how many you have now (and what breeds) and how they get along. I thought you said something in another post about your boys being in the house. Can they be loose in the house (with supervision) together or do they have to be crated or kept in seperate rooms. :) TO ALL: This is NOT going to turn into a bashing session. This is just friendly conversation. So PLEASE, if you can't say something nice, SIT ON YOUR FINGERS! Thank You. Tracy

Dog Food...

Are you the one that is getting the little Tri colored APBT pup? Where is he coming from?

Dog Food...

Do you have a PETCO anywhere near you? According to the Diamond website, PETCO carries it. Also what about some of the mail order places? like http://www.happytailspetmart.com

Dog Food...

Maybe if you can't find that food near you, you could ask the breeder to get an extra bag (at your expence of course), so that you can have enough to feed for a while and while you switch to something else. When are you getting your new addition? P.S. I feed Nutro NC Lamb + Rice.
25.

Disqualifications Blue eyes. Any dog which is predominantly white
Those are the only disqualifications?! That's sort-of ridiculous! :o
That is for the "Colored" variety ONLY. Since there are White and Colored varieties. :D And you are right. That IS ridiculous!
