I somehow doubt it. we are made up of people who are mostly adults, some teenagers, all of whom had heard, and said, most of the "profanity" you are complaining about. I've been on boards like yours, PF is one of them. Did you know you cant say the word "dick"? my fathers NAME was Dick. I read Moby Dick. it gets replaced with "male-genitalia"....you also cant say "virgin". so if you go to the Virgin Islands on vacation, it gets replaced with "non-sexual female" or something stupid like that.... wahhh....I am a basket case. I dropped the dogs off at the kennel an hour ago...I miss them already.... :cry: :cry: its so QUIET in here....no tags jangling, no bark/bay fests. even the mailman asked where they are.... I HATE THIS TRIP....we are a computer company.....why cant they do it all over Netmeeting? ok I'll stop griping now....

thats how I feel about it...however, my boss sees it differently... I'll have internet access in class...maybe I'll be able to pop in over lunch... :) :)

Babs, I am glad you are here, because possibly you can help. I have been PMing with DAL (Naomi) trying to work thru this mess, for the welfare of both herself, and her pets. whatever you can do to convince her to keep talking, with you, with me, or anyone...will be to her benefit. I WANT her to succeed...I will do what I can to help bring that about, but all the other help I can get is greatly appreciated... I will be gone all next week. I cant help her in that time, I will have no internet access...please help her in my absence... 8)

I have been PMing with here about this issue. she came here to wish me well on my trip.... I thank her for that. maybe this can all be worked out... 8)

I responded to that thread, and asked her to PM me. I agree that the comments on her looks were uncalled for, but they were also apologized for. people say stupid things in the heat of anger, I know I do. (K is remembering past instances, I'm sure.... 8) ) but I am hoping to get her one on one, to talk about it. she used to trust me....

LOL - I would have freaked too. you see a dog running with something thats meowing, and you have new kits in the house, I would have checked it out as well... 8)

Laurel's the countersurfer and Free is the tattletail. she'll hear Laurel out in the kitchen being very quiet, which isnt normal. she's kinda clusy inside and has huge feet which "clump" when she walks....so free will go out to the kitchen and bark at her....I'll yell NO countersurfing! and she'll come out looking guilty.... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

the vet or county should be able to tell you what kind of shot she had last. as far as exams..every year, with or without the shots. bad things can happen in a years time, I feel safer having them checked. a regular physical, weighing, ear, eye and heart check. 8)

I have, for the most part, stayed out of this, but now I will repeat what I said earlier. DAL, you really need to think this through. I know you've had problems, issues, with dogs, family and husband....I am not saying you should never get another dog, I just dont think this is the right time. now for the hard questions...I dont intend to hurt, but you need to think about these things? Are you and Justin really "solid"? or "working it out"...they are two different things.some of the things you have told us about him make me worry that the "working out", wont work. to me, you appear unsure of yourself, unsure of your situation, and unsure of your status. I know you are in counseling, and I applaud that, and am sorry about your friend, but I think there were issues even before that. Is this a good time, if you are honest with yourself, to bring in a new pet? Try not to look at me as the enemy...I am asking you to look at YOURSELF, not your situation, and say honestly that you are completely at ease with your choices. when it comes to animals and children, our choices affect every aspect of their lives. til they die. when/if you ever have children, the decisions become even harder. where do you draw the line on what you want, as opposed to what is best for them? I send you good vibes, and hope that it all works out, but I dont believe it will without some soul-searching on your part. :(

rabies is the only one required by law, but some kennels will require bordatella if you're going to board the dog (kennel cough). there are 1, 2 and 3 year rabies shots that you can get, depending on where you live. since I have mine done for bordatella every year, since i have to board them every year, I just do the yearlies for rabies. that way I dont have to keep track of when they were done, the county does that for me, and sends me reminders every year. am I lazy, or what? make those tax dollars work!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

you need to perfect his recall, with the long lead and Kat's advice, before letting him offleash with distractions. this is a three-fold process. first, long lead, just you and hubby, in an enclosed place, next,long lead with some distractions (people, traffic) and then offleash once those distractions have been conquered. then long leash around other animals (the worst distraction) up until you have perfect recall on the dog. having said that, SOME dogs will NEVER have perfect recall. hounds and hunting dogs fall into that category. their nose knows, and they become hearing impaired if the right scent gets to them before you do.
